Very mixed feelings. Super location, good breakfast, friendly stuff. But room is very very small, and the bed is not comfortable. Even I am a frequent user of Scandic in Nordic cities and know usually they are not fancy, this is still a surprise. I barely have place to place my suitcases, and there is no closet for hanging cloth. There are 4 hooks on the wall and that is it. In the bathroom it is hard to walk in and out the showering area (even for a 163cm girl like me), no place to hang used towels or place creams and makeups while using the mirror. Showering water flow is small. No way to check one’s look because there is no body mirrors or anything alike. The room also has bad sound isolations, I wake up at 4am one day by coughing from the neighboring room and another day at 5am by noise from the street. The curtain is also not really light tight, for light sensitive person it is problematic. The plumbs in the room are constantly making some noises. Staffs are friendly but also a bit distant, they put no effort than the minimum, to help you for problems you encounter. For example on the day that I got wake up by the noisy neighbor, I went to the reception, ask if I can change a room, the staff simply says we can do nothing about it, but you can pay to upgrade the room. (I suppose a single person room does not imply one has to bear noises?) Overall it is ok if one looks for a quick and convenient stay, but it is not a great place if you want to take some rest, and surely I don’t see what makes it a four star hotel.
