We booked this visit as a weekend getaway (!) in our hometown, Stockholm. We wanted some luxury, a new experience, and the art-deco experience that I had spotted in Bank Hotel from passing by a few times. we decided to go all-in and booked a room, went to le Hibou, the delightfully cozy roof-top bar, and to the restaurant, Bonnie’s.
Le Hibou was great. We would definitely want to take some friends with us next time. Comfy, cozy, intimate without being crowded or overly noisy.
From looking at the menu online for Bonnie’s, I wasn’t convinced at first. But an 85 page wine list kind of tells you that there is something special to be experienced. And rightly so. Our food, a sea bass, was cooked to perfection. Crispy skin, a thin cover of a slightly spicy paste that just added a dimension without stealing the attention from the fish. Best I ever had. And our wine was perfect too. Breakfast was really good.
Staff were great all along and were very attentive. I had let them know beforehand about my allergy and great care was shown to make me feel safe by telling me if there was something that I should stay clear from or could not be modified.
The room - Graceful Design Deluxe - was really cozy and smart. We watched films projected to the TV from our own devices via the chromecast - this was not so smooth for us, since we have no experience from doing this before. Some apps seemed to refuse. At home we do it all the time, but not via Chromecast. Maybe a little more instructions or links to instructions would be handy… but that is really our only suggestion for improvement.
We were very satisfied with our overall experience and felt happy about doing it. We would certainly recommend it. And we would recommend anyone wanting a somewhat intimate and cozy experience and interesting, new drinks in a bar to go to le Hibou. As for Bonnie’s, we fell in love with the design. A large room, not too noisy, and so nicely art deco
