The guesthouse is perfect for a short stay in waterford. The rooms are clean and cozy. The staff is super nice and helpful and the breakfast is also very tasty. They even allowed us to leave our backpack in the Hotel after we checked out. We felt very comfortable at any time.

Lovely quaint guesthouse. Very central and rooms very clean. Walls between rooms a bit thin so can hear conversations. Friendly staff and overall for what they charge, very hard to fault.

Old world charming, 250 year old building. Located in a quiet cul de sac, within walking distance to the city centre. The room was clean, very quiet and very reasonably priced. The cooked breakfast was excellent and I'm looking forward to our next visit there.

We wrote this review together...myself, my sis, and my Mom as we liked this place so much...The Portree Guesthouse even though its a Victorian house, never felt stuffy, felt right at home there…staff were kind and helpful, we really liked the garden too, as we like the outdoors, it was the almost ‘secret garden’ that we found particularly appealing….which is rare to find in the middle of a city…we could eat our breakfast outside on the terrace, and the fact that the Portree is so close to the River Suir (Which would be great access for anyone doing Kayaking or sculling as my mom loved to do) plus the fact that you can hire a bike from just around the corner to cycle to the fantastic countryside of the greenway, which for me that loves nature was great and my mom as an artist was great, to have the choice of sitting nearby and painting in ‘En Pleine Air’ (Outdoors)….the rooms were really comfortable and clean… liked that we could request having some of our laundry done too for a small fee, and the choice of h ving a vegan breakfast plus full Irish breakfast was good for us as a family, as we all like different kind of breakfasts….it's doggie friendly too, and have their own super cute dog...whose a sweetheart...all the nightlife, pubs, coffee shops and restaurants and historical sites were so close by 10 mins walk...it was fun...if there was anything I thought they could improve on...they just need to have a bar...and a pond or even a fountain in the garden...then it would be perfect...and yeah it would be great to visit again...maybe next time we are in Waterford!
