Grand Hotel Vienna

Ladies trip
We spent 3 nights in this old classic hotel. As most of Austrian properties, also this one was clean and nice, older interior, but clean. People at the reception and during breakfast were very helpful and very positive. Live piano music during evenings. Location is very convenient, short walk to Graben, Opera, Albertina,Hofburg with Sisi Museum, etc. Little café next to the hotel for breakfast, otherwise 38 EUR per person for full breakfast in the hotel, 30 EUR parking per day ( we got 20% off). We will definitely consider a stay in Grand Hotel next time as well.

Very good
Liked - City center location, less than 150m from the Opera House. Really good room, excelent bed, everyhing being very clean, furniture a little bit dated though.
Disliked - Breakfast was somehow limited in choices and the fact that any hot meal you had to order on the spot was a litle bit unusual. Would have preffered a walkin shower instead of the bathtub but that's just me.

A nice hotel for the weekend
Liked - I liked the location, it’s close to everything and also the design of the rooms.
Disliked - I didn’t like the fact that I’ve found hair on my bed when I went to sleep. the room was clean in general but somehow on the white sheets there was some hair. I also didn’t like that even though I’ve announced a few days before that I needed a late check out they couldn’t help me.

Be ready for extra amounts blocked on your credit card when you stay at this hotel!
Liked - Perfect location for a short opera visit. We could have our own piece of cake in our hotel room in the interval :) The hotel is very old fashioned but it has a certain charm, which is typical of Vienna and we love it. The bed is huge and very comfy. The bath is too high though for an ordinary person to step in - we are supple and had no problems but this room is certainly not for a person with any mobility issues. No shower, only a bath and no step to facilitate access.
Disliked - They booked an extra 200 euros on the credit card, not mentioned on the booking.com website according to their own admission. This was for any extras, which we knew we wouldn't have but it being their principle, we had no choice. We will now have to wait 3 weeks for our money to be available again. But I guess the problem is with us, that we are not their target group, we spend on the best opera tickets instead of an overpriced breakfast in the room or on drinks or meals.
