Vila Foz Hotel & Spa

Celebrated a big birthday here summer 2021 and Vila Foz far exceeded our already high expectations. The breakfast was plentiful in options and fresh. When there was a mix up with our Uber, the hotel rectified it immediately ensuring we didn't lose our dinner reservation and sent us a complimentary bottle of bubbles as an apology the next day. The pool, sauna and gym are beautiful and a perfect sanctuary rain or shine. The bar in the historic portion of the property is a lovely place to enjoy an afternoon drink with a view of the terrace and waterfront. Be sure to book an ocean facing room if available.

I booked a one-night stay and a spa&tasting menu package at the Vila Foz restaurant as my 5th wedding anniversary celebration. It has exceeded my expectations in many ways! The hotel offered us a welcome drink and a Port wine (dated 2017, the year of our marriage!). The couple spa treatment was amazing with lots of attention to details, followed by an afternoon tea by the pool. The best thing about coming in the winter season is that it’s not crowded and they have a heated indoor pool!! (With a comfortably warm heating in the pool area so you are not freezing when you get out of the water ). Sauna and the wet steam room were also very nice for relaxation. They also provide free bikes so you can bike along the seaside until the city centre. The dinner was exceptional!!! Possibly the best experience we’ve ever had. From the olive oil/butter/bread, all the way to each dish, complimentary treats from the chef, it has a fusion between Japanese and Portuguese food. The dining hall was very classy and pretty. We booked it long in advance, even before they won the Michelin one star this year. The price of this stay is high but it’s totally worth it. The service was top, with so much attention to details. Really big thanks to all the staff here. My husband and I would really like to return to this hotel again in the future and stay 2 nights instead!

Top notch service accompanied by a very fair value for money! Its impressive in some ways, but it does not totally excel. We did not try the restaurants but we did order room service at dinner, and the dishes were below average. Avoid room service, but take advantage of breakfast in the room (free!).

We loved our stay at Vila Foz. It’s such a beautifully designed hotel just by the sea and with a lovely spa and pool. The breakfast was excellent and all staff were very friendly. Would not hesitate to go back!
