Luxury in the heart of KievStayed for two days , the hotel is not in the centre of Kiev city but located few miles from centre . It over looks the river and is in a quiet area .
Rooms are clean and spacious , staff are well trained ,courteous and friendly. Breakfast is good and room service is great .
A good stay overall , will certainly come back

7 days stay at Fairmont KyivWe stayed few times before in Fairmont (both business and family visits). However, we faced declining standards during our last visit:* nobody at the entrance intended to help us with bulky luggage (we have 6 year old boy with us) and help of doormen/concierge would be much appreciated;* room service/staff assistance - awful (we ordered pizza for a boy and waited for 1,5 hours), the reception simply did not pass the order to room service (reason - they did not charge credit card deposit despite we prepaid our 7 days stay)* breakfast: waited more than 10 minutes the staff bring cutlery (they ignore our request), so we left and had lovely breakfast in cafe nearby;* TV set did not work properly (they try to repair it few times)* heating/ventilation didnot work properly (bad smell, uncomfortable temperature in the room)

Very low standards. Never againStarting with that nobody in a harry to help with your suitcases
Following 1,5 hours waiting for pizza, which was just awful.
I found in my bathrobe’s pocket ladies sanitary pads cover. It did not look like washed one.
In every our attempt to get food we were told that it cant be charged to our room. Why? how to change it? they didn’t know and did not care.
Staff is totally inexperienced.

A 5* hotel and ...We’ve stayed in many luxury hotels in many countries that counts I don’t remember, but I've never seen anything like that. How many times do prices change in a 5* hotel? Do you know? I finally saw that.
We come to Kiev often with my wife and generally we stay at Fairmont Hotel. Normally I prefer the classic room, the price is 286$ every time. But already twice we stayed they changed price. However, this time the classic room rate was 290 euro(!) its about 330$. Everything was prepared properly. I asked why the price increased. They told because today is friday (21dec). Then, in the morning I came to the reception to do check out, and I figure it out the classic room rate was $286. They said the prices were changed by the system at 03:00am, so before it was prices for 20 December. We were very embarrassed with my wife. I told the reception manager that I would write about this to the trip advisor. He promised me he would do the fix price 286$ itch staying at their hotel. He also stated that he would offer a variety of food for our next stay and room upgrade for free. Will a hotel give up its own price and quality because they will earn 70$? I recommend you to book this hotels with TripAdvisor or other services to not let this happen to you also

A pleasant stay in KievThis is a very nice and well maintained hotel. The rooms are good size with excellent beds and fabrics throughout with good cleanliness of all public areas and room.
A few challenges initially with heating of the room and judging by the sound of other guests it appeared to be a standard problem.
I resolved the issue by placing the air-con on full of which appeared to work and heat up nicely,( alas the noise was the pay off !) however when it was minus 12 dgrs outside it certainly needs a good heating system !.
With regards to the dinning and bar areas whilst I found that despite appearing not to be short of staff, the efficiency of service can only be described as slow and certainly lacked the streamlined smoothness that you would expect in a 5 star hotel / restaurant whilst the breakfast bar also had an illogical lay out of produce.
Additionally I also felt that not having a bar area for non smokers was also a short fall and there was no public bar relaxation area to enjoy a drink without having to inhale on second hand tobacco!.
Special mention to the very efficient and friendly door man that always gave me a warm welcome or departure, needless to day that it is often the little things that can make a difference.

Excellent hotel in a wonderful city...The Fairmont Grand Hotel is a terrific hotel by the river in the beautiful city of Kiev, just a short walk to some amazing architectural destinations. The room was extremely comfortable, well-appointed, and a terrific view of the river. The service throughout the hotel was first-rate, and the food in the Vogue Café was excellent...the breakfast buffet is highly recommended! Everyone associated with the hotel who I came in contact with was friendly, helpful, and professional. The only drawback I had in the hotel during my stay was problems with the internet in the room...I overcame this by using the computers on the third floor. Overall the hotel provided a welcome stay and one that I will definitely repeat next time I go to Kiev.

Pure Class!While visiting Kyiv for a business conference, I stayed at the Fairmont Grand Hotel with a room overlooking the river and 2 of the bridges (which lit up at night making it a very nice sight!). The hotel is pure class, from the lovely foyer, the extremely polite and helpful staff and the variety offered for breakfast. The room was extremely spacious and the bathroom had both bath & shower (!).
You cannot go wrong with the Fairmont, you get what you pay for and that is class!

internet issues in the roomsFairmont hotel is a nice hotel, however in case you want to work though the room and trying to send and receive any emails, it is not possible because the internet it does not work 80% of all the time and even if sometimes works is very week that you can not even send a simple email. Even though we informed the reception several times since we enter the room, they seem to have a problem with internet network.

Spoiled morning of the BrideI decided to spend the night before the wedding and afterwards at the hotel with a great reputation and an amazing view. I booked rooms at the Gold floor and expected a great service. In the morning I was short of time and girls were making my make-up and a hair style at the same time. For this purpose we needed an extension cord for a plug, but we were told that they don’t have it. In my opinion, such things are obligatory, like an iron and the refusal shocked me. I asked my coordinators to ask again and maybe to be harder. After 30 minutes we finally received it.
Unfortunately, I booked rooms at different times and did not manage to stay for two nights in the same room and I had to move to the next room in the middle of the day.
And in 5 minutes before leaving for my wedding, a concierge nocked at the door and entered at the same moment. I was wearing a half – transparent morning gown, but the young man did not feel embarrassed and confidently entered the room, telling that It is necessary for him to CHECK the MINI-BAR (I just checked in an hour ago). I asked if he can wait for 15, he answered negatively. And he stepped on my wedding dress with his black shoe. Luckily didn’t spoil it.
The wedding morning was hopelessly spoiled. I didn’t expect such a service at Fairmont!

Great hotel experienceI was here on a business trip with associates and stayed here. The staff were very gracious and the rooms were pretty well appointed. The internet worked pretty well and was free throughout the hotel. Room service was a bit slow but brought what was requested. I found the bathrooms and particularly the showers to be well above average. The cafe in the lobby was perfect with great staff and good coffee with tasty treats between meals. The lounge on the second floor was very modern and sophisticated and the service was pretty fast. The place is on the higher cost end but I will got back when in town.

Top hotel in Kiew. Perfect location, nice riverviews, 5 star setup, great hospitality and service mentality. Proximity to important tourist sites and business locations, good gym and spa, an inhouse casino for those interested and great rooms. Source: tripadvisor

This is another excellent 2 night Fairmont stay, this time in elegant Podil area of beautiful Kyiv. Great location facing Dnieper River. Quite competent and friendly check in process and, generally speaking, front desk staff. My Accor Platinum status was acknowledged and rewarded by free upgrade, nice amenity, and complimentary drinks. Tasteful and elegant common areas (as in most Fairmont hotels). Spacious and stylish rooms, well furnished too, with large bathrooms. Nice bar, restaurant, and coffee shop were also good. They have casino on site, I guess it is a big magnet, but of no interest to me. All in all, one of the best Kyiv hotels. Certainly expensive for Kyiv hotel prices, but worth it! Source: tripadvisor

Amazing few days spent at the Fairmont. Nothing seemed too much trouble and all of the staff were welcoming and smiling every time I saw them.The restaurant staff in particular were brilliant, and went out of their way to help.
Polina especially was lovely and cheerful every day, and the head waiter was brilliant, remembering everybody’s preference for breakfast drink etc each day.
The maid service was fantastic and the rooms were spotless. I requested different pillows, extra coffee and other bits and it was no trouble

This is more than a hotel - it's an experience! The atmosphere in the hotel, the room, the pool/steam room area, the breakfast, the incredible staff who treat you like royalty - just being in the hotel is as enjoyable as anything you will do in the city of Paris itself! For anyone trying to book a romantic getaway for their partner, as I did, as I said in the title - don't over think this, just do it and the hotel will give you an incredible memory with your partner for a lifetime.
