Mandarin Oriental, Geneva

This review is a bit late, but I’ve stayed here twice in recent months and absolutely loved it.  Service at reception and the restaurant was very professional and welcoming.  The rooms are incredibly comfortable.  Geneva may not be the most scenic city in Europe but the views over the River were very nice, particularly as the lights come on in the evening.  We really liked the location. The hotel sits on a quiet side street along the River but it is a short walk to the train station, shopping areas on the opposite side of the River.  What I consistently enjoy about MO hotels is the luxury without attitude or pretentiousness.  To me they are on the same level in this regard as Four Seasons, and this hotel fits that standard.

Amazing hotel. Very central in the city. Close to the train station. The staff were very kind and helpful. The standard room was very big, spacious and clean. I loved the chocolates in the room. Overall had a great experience in this hotel and would visit again if I'm in Geneva. Thank you for an amazing stay.

I have recently attended a conference in the hotel. The hotel looks amazing and the conference room was great. However, I was pretty disappointed with the cocktail: food barely arrived to our table and just got to try one mini burguer (terribly prepared) + one dessert that did not meet my expectations. Even if the the waiters were extremely polite and nice with us, I am not sure if the amount of food was well calculated for the event/corresponds to a 5-star hotel.

We were in Geneva for the Watches and Wonders exhibition, we booked two of our VIP clients in this hotel and planned to have dinner at the restaurant in the hotel. There was a little misunderstanding with the dinner booking (totally our fault, not the staff) and so we were ready to split the party up and have the clients to enjoy the beautiful setting that the place offered. We received the most professional, approachable, attentive and friendly service that we ever had by the staff of the hotel/bar: they put together 3 tables and gave us the menus from the restaurant, they went for the extra mile in everything and we felt really looked after from the start to the end. Unfortunately I can’t remember the names of the two gentlemen that attended our table, but we will definitely never forget their face! The clients were very impressed as well, they never been in Geneva but I believe now they have a reason to come back.
