Usually a Pleasure
I've stayed at Westin Palace in Madrid many, many times. It has a great location in the city centre and most major landmarks are in walking distance.

Usually I'd give this 1912 polished gem of a property 5 stars, but to tell the truth I found the restaurant and bar waitstaff arrogant, unhelpful and plain rude. I had this experience at breakfast, in the bar for tapas and in the rotunda for evening drinks. Now I am sure some of the staff were do their best, but for the most part they weren't simply standing around and talking amongst themselves, not paying any attention to the customers.

This is an amazing property, but dear hotel Manager someone needs to retrain the waitstaff

Beautiful Stay
Enjoyed my stay at the Palace Hotel. This exquisite hotel takes you back in time to a time of grandeur European travel. Located in Centro District. You are in walking distance to all Madrid has to offer. A 15 minute walk to the main train station, 15 minutes walk to Plaza de Sol and the shopping. Reitro Park basically at your feet- 5 minutes to the gates of relaxation 10 minutes to the beautiful botanical gardens. The staff here gets best in class going above and beyond to make everyone welcomed and enjoy their stay. A visit to this hotel wouldn’t be complete with dining in the absolutely magnificent dining room under the breathtaking masterpiece of the glass ceiling. Sit down and admire

Made our vacation!
The perfect luxury hotel in a great central location in Madrid. The rooms are beautifully appointed in a building that fits perfectly into the backdrop of historic architecture that makes Madrid such a lovely city. From the moment we arrived the staff was welcoming, helpful and willing to go above and beyond. I left my sunglasses on a hop on hop off tour, they located them, picked them up and dropped them off to another hotel in order to get them to me in another country- very impressive

Luxury hotel across street from Prado
Have stayed here 3 times, most recently in January 2019. It was a birthday and they gave me not only an upgrade but also champagne and birthday cake. Showed me 3 different rooms to chose from. Had view of the fountain in front of hotel--quite beautiful. Free coffee/tea room service is a nice perk. Lunch at Rotunda--the service was very professional; faultless. Dinner/drinks at the 1812 Bar--also great. The only issue during my stay was with the Concierge, who had trouble with Airport transfers. I was charged for one trip that I did not even take (which I ended up paying for unfortunately). At the end of the stay they also booked a duplicate limo to airport and it appeared on my bill, but thankfully they removed that one. Taxis were on strike, and Ubers too busy

Comfortable and very well located
After reading good comments about the hotel, and having stayed at other Westin Hotels, we decided to book here. We arrived on December 24th with no dinner reservation anywhere in Madrid. We asked the hotel about options, including the hotel, but there were no available seats for the dinner organized at the hotel. We were told that all the restaurants in the area were busy and some closed. At dinner time, we went downstairs thinking that maybe the only option was the hotel bar, but there was an Asian Restaurant called Zen Market located in the hotel lobby which was open, and they had availability. So we dined there and enjoyed it! The five course dinner was delicious. We were disappointed that the concierge did not try to find out whether this restaurant had availability. We enjoyed buffet breakfast every morning. The quality, variety, service, all were excellent. The hotel is located to main city attractions. The bar at the hotel is very nice, quiet, to relax after an intense day walking around the city

Muchas gracias.

Antibacterial gel automaic dispatchers are place scattered in the lobby. Front desk has a line marked for social distance. The rooms look renovated in beds, wallpaper and curtains, that make a complete blackout. They offer a health kit with a face mask, gel and wipes.

The closet has safety box, iron, ironing board and one robe. The other robe was on the bathroom, which has a large counter, 2 bassinets, tub with shower and toilet with bidet. The mini bar is stocked.

The bed is really a King Size, under American standards. There are electric and USB sockets on both sides of the bed and the desk, but the USBs are so loose, the cables slip out.

The large mirrors on the corridor entrance give a nice sense of space. Guests should not miss a breakfast or any meal under the beautiful Tiffany dome.

A stylish, high standard hotel

Should you come by car the parking of the hotel is located in the parallel street, anyways the Westin efficient valet/concierge service will park your car. Cost Euro 38/night.
Welcome at the reception (Alberto and Juan) very efficient and cordial.
Being Marriot-Bonboy member, we had an upgrade to room 624 with balcony and a view on the famous Neptun fountain square. No more than three hundred yards from Prado Museum.
The heater in the bathroom with 2 basins and a separate shower and WC is provided by the mirror which is progressively heating. The same bathroom has been conceived to provide sufficient privacy, in case, especially in the morning, one person desires to sleep longer while the other is shaving or making up.
Mattress is comfortable. Linen also. We have to report that turn-down was not provided.
The rich breakfast is served under the 2012 Liberty-ArtDeco huge Dome which is stunning. Space among the tables is relevant and one is feeling the privacy. Service efficacious and reliable and friendly.
Variety of items of the buffet at a high standard. Comprising the exotic and red fruits. On the background the soft classical music is not interfering with the conversation during breakfast
The two night spent here were very comfortable. We will definitely come back.

We didn’t have a good experience at breakfast at all. We kept asking for eggs well done because I’m pregnant but they either sent them under over easy or burnt. It was a ridiculous experience.
This is my second time at this hotel because of its location.
The location of the hotel is good but the hotel itself is old and needs renovation. The check in staff are nice and helpful.

Hotel has an old fashioned look. Staff at reception was helpful and cooperative. However I was charged for additional incrementals that I never consumed or used. Breakfast is served in buffet with varieties. Quality vs price does not justify as I was expecting better decorated room and modernized hotel.

Perfect location, nice hotel. I love their dining hall. Facility and amenities are very well supplied. There are small issues but I think it is due to the aged building. I would stay there again. But please don’t park there if you have a car, you can park at Santa Ana plaza, which is 5 mins away and half of the price.
