Tivoli Coimbra

A nice facility with very good staff. The location is about halfway between the two train stations and very near the old city. All can be easily reached on foot. Breakfast is excellent. Rooms are clean and large enough to be comfortable in. The area nearby currently is undergoing significant construction.  The hotel restaurant delivered consistently edible food. Special thanks to Catarina, Diogo, and Andrei for reliably excellent service and extra effort.

Rooms are not clean at all. We stayed in a carpeted room where there was dust and fluff everywhere. Even after asking them to re-clean while we strolled around the area near the hotel it didn't have much effect. When we got back, everything was still dirty. We complained and the manager suggested that we change rooms. This second room, without carpet, also had some dust accumulated on the baseboards and other surfaces. We made the same request again to clean the room during our absence. Finally, when we got back, the room was actually clean. Breakfast is poor, with practically no options and low quality products including bread, juices and coffee. Fruit is perhaps the only exception, not excellent but acceptable. Beds are uncorfortable, unless you fancy extra soft matresses and pillows. The decor and materials are very dated and in need of renovation. In the first room, there was constant loud noise from what I believe was the elevator (not that I care, but it can disturb people who can't sleep with noise). The location turns out to be the only positive point for being quite central. The staff is helpful, but not big on smiles. Overall, for a 4 star hotel the experience is poor.

Overall excellent, parking was convenient, room was clean and had good facilities. Claudia was amazing, advising on all local restaurants and locating a COVID test before our flight home, a real concierge and a credit to the hotel.

We stayed for one night. The room was clean and big. We had a great view on the city. The breakfast was good and we did not miss anything. Eberyboady was really friendly. Especially Gabriela , Claudia and Andre . We had a great talk and a perfect checkin and checkout. Thank you for making our stay so outstanding. The hotel has a good location.
