Good Location. Hotel Becoming Outdated
Stayed in the NJV for two nights. The lobby was fine, breakfast was good, but rooms were very small. I have never actually seen a single room in a hotel before. I didn't know they exist. And the nice pictures you see on the website if the Acropolis view dont really exist unless you pay a special rate for a certain level. Certainly the inner view of a shed was not as atractive! But central location was good for shopping.

Unethical Staff, Poor Hygiene and Out-dated Design
My mom and I stayed for a night on 27 Jan for flight transfer. The old lady at reception said there was no recording of our booking and refused to give us a room with poor attitude. She requested my mom later to present the credit card for guarantee and pay for city taxes (which should be paid when CHECKING OUT). The lady staff took the credit card under the counter and copied the information of the front and almost THE BACK. My mom immediately shut her down and took the card back. That was totally unprofessional and unethical. From all the luxury hotels we have experienced globally, there would not be a "5-star" hotel to have staff sneakily peeping at the security code of your credit card. The lady did not apologize. We had a very bad reception experience at NJV Athens.
The room was not hygienic as a luxury standard either. The sink was dirty and dusty and the room needs to update its design. There were no toothbrushes at bathroom until we requested from the front desk.
When we checked out, another staff at reception gave us an official receipt for the city taxes we paid (in cash) during check-in. Weird thing is, we'd already received a receipt from that lady after paying.
Overall, the experience at NVJ Athens was terrible and we simply do not know if it was the first time for that woman at reception snooping credit card like this. We would definitely NOT coming back next time and probably the other 2 hotels on the same street have better service and rooms.

Fantastic location, good hotel
The hotel is a bit tired, but still a great place to stay. The location is fantastic, in the centre of town across from the main Park.
The buffets for breakfast and dinner are good, not great or impressive.
I would stay there again. Just don't expect me high quality of a world class hotel.

Location!
The location on Snytagma Square and a room high enough with a small balcony to step out and see the nearby Acropolis all lit up at night makes this a good choice in the heart of Athens.

Friendly, efficient staff and clean, comfortable rooms. It was an enjoyable stay for a few nights here for business.

Lots of stores and restaurants in the area as well as close to the Acropolis Museum, Hadrian's Gate and other attractions.

A Very Promising Luxury City Hotel
Within walking distance from the shopping centre, museums and the city’s business district the Athens Plaza is one of the most popular city hotels of Athens.

We had help from a porter who carried our luggage inside the newly refurbished Lobby which is by now very inviting and trendy! Our check-in was quick and the reception team very friendly and professional.

We were handed the key and headed to the room with no delay. The porter showed up with the luggage shortly and was kind enough to indicate a few things he considered we might not know to make our stay more comfortable.

There are various rooms and suite types, from classic and superior, to junior and deluxe. Travellers can choose between economic, modern or luxurious suites.

Our Superior Twin Room
The corner room was on the fifth floor, it was spacious and elegant, overlooking the Parliament, the Syntagma Square and the Acropolis. Housekeeping would show up twice a day and refreshed towels and toiletries if needed and there was nothing we could ask for more.

The twin bed, on the other hand, was just as comfortable as expected, with the proper pillows and a well-made mattress that was hard for us to leave the bed each morning. The double glazed door-window and the entrance door of the room kept possible noise out.

Equipped with modern amenities, coffee & tea facilities, minibar, a safety deposit box, a hairdryer, robes, slippers and an LCD satellite TV we hardly used. The NJV provides complimentary high-speed internet, but not bottled water. Perhaps because in Athens, tap water is potable.

Room service was excellent too. Twice when we reached for this service, the team was punctual, friendly and willing to help.

Complimentary Treat
Upon our arrival, we received a welcome bottle of red wine with a card from the NJV management which was such a thoughtful and much-appreciated touch.

Bathroom
Average in size the marbled bathroom provided a bathtub with shower. The pressure was just the right as well as the temperature of hot water. The ladies would change the towels daily, and we could have fresh again in the evening upon request with the turndown service. The Apivita brand toiletries is an excellent choice for that extra touch of pampering. The downside is that they provide one set for two persons when the tubes are miniature. At least there should be an extra shower gel for couples, so in our case, we requested a few extra for shower only.

Breakfast
The Parliament Restaurant on the top floor is classy and elegant, and the good news is that breakfast finishes at 11:00 so you have plenty of time to enjoy it.

The tastes of the buffet were great and everything fresh. You can find cold and hot dishes, a variety of cheese, ham and sausages, mushrooms, cakes and different types of pastry. I loved their fresh juice as well. You will be spoiled for choice here!

The NJV Parliament Restaurant remains open throughout the day offering Mediterranean dishes for lunch and dinner with an a la carte menu.

NJV Explorer’s Bar
Interested in a fabulous live-music experience? Available on Fridays & Saturdays, 22:00 – 01:00. Minimum spent €20 pp. Contact them directly for more information.

NJV Plaza Café
There is no doubt that you will enjoy the atmosphere of the Plaza Café. We did not find time for a drink on this visit as we were mostly outdoors. The wide selection of snacks, dessert, types of coffee and tea as well as wines worth giving it a try. It won't disappoint!

In all, without a second thought, don’t hesitate to arrange your stay here. The hotel is remarkable and worth every penny. It is adjacent to the major tourist attractions, archaeological sites, shopping area and the Acropolis Museum. Ask for their special Offers and book directly through them.

Decadent
I have stayed there for 4 nights. The best is the location if you are going to Athens for tourism. Personnel at the front office is correct. When paying almost 200€ per room, I expect more. Room was smallish, inner view, if you open the window a lovely noise coming from what seemed a compressor made me close it immediately. Sound insulation to that device was okay. Bathroom needs refurbishment. From the ecology point of view, hotel management should think more green. No offer to keep the same towel. They are changed twice a day unnecessarily. Room has no place to sit and turn it into a small office. No sockets are conveniently placed to charge mobile and or PC. Breakfast disappointing for such a hotel. It was simply boring. No change whatsoever during my stay. Restaurant was over staffed. Waiters looking at you but did not remove plate when standing and going to buffet. Need better training. Overall, I find the hotel too pricey and I probably would try to find other places for the price.

Would Give It 6 Stars!
We were pleased with the location of both the hotel and our room on the right floor. The room was large and lovely, the bed was comfortable. The staff was very helpful whenever we needed something. After a busy, tiring day in Athens, it was convenient to have the on-site restaurant for an evening meal. We had an early departure, and breakfast was brought to our room at 3 AM!

Great Location and Service
This hotel has a great location right in front of Syntagma square and the Parlament, near a train station and so many restaurants, stores, cafes and a short walk from Ancient Agora and other monuments and sites. They have great service, and like any other country if you try to speak a few Greek words they will gladly teach you some more because when you try to speak the language of the country you are in, it shows respect. Our balcony had the view of the square and the Parlament, it was beautiful. Comfortable and clean.

Very nice hotel with a wonderful view
We had the most amazing view from our balcony. It is close to everything. Walking distance to almost everything and the views of the Acropolis were beautiful at night. The gentleman that helped us with our luggage was so friendly and got us a cab to the airport with a driver that worked with the hotel. We didn't know about the set price from their hotel to or from the airport and he informed us and made sure that we were taken care of. The hotel was very clean, quiet, and comfortable.

October 2018
Location is very central which is great. But you face the high noise level. Where upgraded and were at the 6th floor. Still noisy. Room, found old dirt at the minibar, mattress was worn out and bathroom needed a detailed cleaning eg brown stain at the skirting . Just use a brush. Not a good competent sign of the person in charge of the rooms. Breakfast, pretty disappointing. I asked the cook to look.at the scrambled eggs which were swimming in a white liquid. He asked me if he should replace it. What a question. The person in charge at the buffet was wandering around but didnt bother to look. Variety of the buffet doesnt justify the price of eur 23. This is a ripoff. Better to go out and get a pastry and coffee at one of the many coffee shops around. Reception was very professional and took my concerns constructively which was appreciated. But management should look at the individual persons in charge to improve the service given to its guests.

Wonderful staff leads the way! From the Bell Hops to the Front Desk Staff, to the Restaurant staff we had a wonderful time. Front Desk Staff and Manager helped with arranging dinners and changing plans. We were able to get taxis scheduled and get advice on touring the plaza area. Lights out visit, so much so we are coming back for my birthday in June. Thank-you NJV Plaza for a wonderful visit during our anniversary

Great room. Friendly & informative staff. The full & free breakfast was a pleasant surprise.
It is in a very busy area so expect street noise during the day.
The changing of the guards at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is one block away & happens every hour on the hour. A MUST SEE!
