Grand Majestic Hotel with Art Decor design and modern features Good Location
From the time of booking , the service was excellent. The concierge helped us with transfers and to book the palace tour and a wonderful concert to follow with classical music! The hotel itself is majestic, lovely Art Deco design, relaxing lounge area for coffee or cocktails, the breakfast was plentiful with fresh produce, we also ate dinner at the hotel, excellent quality and great service. The rooms have modernised bathrooms with lovely showers. The mattress was of good quality and the room was quiet so sleep quality was good. Definitely can recommend this wonderful hotel.

Very nice hotel with very helpful and friendly concierge
We stayed here for three nights. We were generally happy with our room although we had some temperature regulation issues. When we arrived it was too cold, a technical guy fixed it but then it was too hot for the remainder of our stay. The air con unit just didn't work so eventually I just turned if off and that helped keep a moderate temperature. Comfortable bed and nice bathroom too. The breakfast in the morning is very nice, they have a lovely buffet and also have certain a la carte dishes that were very enjoyable. They have champagne, including a lovely Austrian sparking wine that are worth a shot if you are on holiday! The only disappointment was the spa area. The 'pool' which is just like a large hot tub is cold. Actually very cold. I assume the idea is that you use the steam room/sauna and cool off in this pool but there is no other hot tub or pool option. I got into my swimwear went in and had to get out immediately it was so cold. We are big users of the spa so I was disappointed that we had no warm pool or hot tub to use during our stay. Otherwise pretty nice and the concierge was very helpful.

So romantic!
Multifaceted and historical. Bordered with old cultural history and at the same time so modern. Vienna is outstanding, always worth a visit. Here you can reside, as Sissi could not have liked to imagine. Such as in the Kempinski Palais Hansen. A luxury hotel in a class of its own. And that's exactly where we made a course to bake an apple strudel! And we created a drink of our own together with the bartender (of course he created, we got it down...) the: Fräuleinwunder! Ask for it, its incredible. And we had an unforgettable dinner at the Michelin star restaurant there. So creative!

Exactly what you expect at the price
This is a real 5 star hotel that was a former palace built in the glory days of the Hapsburg empire. Run superbly as it should be , nothing is too much trouble, we had a wonderful stay here over Xmas 2018.
Rooms can be very different. Rooms with a view of th eoutsude are wonderful but if you book a room with a view over one of the inner courtyards you may find it a little dark on darker days. Also rooms vary in size. The first room we were offered was kind of small for a hotel of this quality and as we were staying 4 nights we switched to a room slightly larger which was the right choice to make.
Breakfast costs an eye watering 42 euros per person. We opted to nip out and in a 5 minute walk found several fabulous Viennese coffee houses that did full breakfast for around 10 euros.
Lastly, a special xmas dinner in the hotel was being offered at 420 euros a head, yes you read that right. We didn’t opt in.
Great hotel, great staff, great location , we would definitely stay here again.

Superb classy hotel
Loved this hotel so much.
We had a long weekend in Vienna and chose this hotel which lived up to expectations. The staff were brilliant from the really good late night check in by Lana to the welcome every morning for breakfast. It couldn't of really been any better.
So comfortable in the rooms which were very clean and spacious. Just chill out in the lounge for afternoon tea and strudel.
We stay at many 5 star hotels and know what to expect and this definately was one of the god ones

Excellent and beautiful hotel in the heart of Vienna
Together with my wife I came for 3 nights to this
wonderful hotel in the heart of Vienna.
The hotel is in a beautiful historical building
with an elegant lobby hall.
We had a suite that is spacious, tastefully decorated
in modern design with the original high ceilings
and a nice view facing the Ring.
The service is very attentive and professional
throughout the hotel and the breakfast buffet
is one of the best you can imagine!
Also knowing other 5 star hotels in Vienna
I can highly recommend the Kempinski Palais Hansen
for both business and leisure trips

Amazing hotel
If you want to stay in one of the most amazing hotels this has got to be on your list, we visited Vienna for the Christmas markets and booked this fabulous hotel. Only 5 minute walk to the underground the hotel is situated on the city outskirts but this is a plus point.
Try a glass of Moet with your breakfast, room was outstanding, staff all very friendly service what you would expect from a 5 star hotel.

Rude receptionist, poor service and unclean room
3 nights at the hotel for family of 4.

Receptionist who checked us in was unhelpful and was not proactive - did not provide any general info about hotel (check out time, where breakfast was etc. etc.) nor a map of the city. It was not the welcome we expected from
Kempinski. No information was provided that our room was facing construction, the noise woke us up very early in the morning. Room were missing some basic amenities upon check in.

We were expecting a Kempinski experience for our kids as advertised on their website (3rd pic) but the reality was very far from the photo.

We informed the hotel that our first impression was not great and the same receptionist marched to my family at breakfast angrily to speak to me. Deputy manager tried to correct the situation with an invite to afternoon tea but it was made worst when we were told the children were not invited as she did not realized we were traveling with kids. We requested via the deputy manager a car to take us to the football match and unfortunately we were 5 mins late as there was a delay with signing the bill for the afternoon invite, and the car has left!

We saw the same receptionist in the lift and he made no attempt to apologize for marching towards me at breakfast and my kid saw he rolled his eyes at me.

Spa staff seems to have a lot to discuss between themselves. Normally one would expect the staff to show you around with your first visit, but we were not offered anything as the ladies were busy chatting.

We requested our bathroom to be cleaned again and still it was not cleaned! Very disappointed for a 5 star hotel.

Overall, general proactiveness and attitude of staff is missing!

However, the staff in the Küche and Edvard Restaurants were excellent.

We are still very shocked how poor the general service is at the front desk, house keeping and spa.

Oh, Vienna!
Excellent hotel in great location. Went for the Christmas markets and hotel was near major subway stop which made it convenient to reach all the hot spots, train station etc.
Beautiful lobby, lounges and rooms. Staff is really excellent. They weren’t able to upgrade us for our discovery loyalty (big OPEC meeting in town) but sent up a great bottle of wine as a consolation. Love Kempinski hotels now and will choose them when possible. Great included breakfast, awesome really - Menu ordering, chef omelet bar, hot and cold, on and on.
Wanted to try the Michelin star restaurant at last minute, but of course it was full. Will definitely return.

A night at Palais Hansen Kempinski Vienna
Spent a night at the Palais Kempiski last week with some friends. Hotel was very clean. Staff were exceptionally kind and very professionally. Ate at two of the hotel restaurants. Food was delicious at both restaurants. Die Kuche restaurant has a more familiar atmosphere. The Restaurant Edvard is very exclusive and caters to adults who want dinner in a quiet exclusive environment within the hotel.
Did express laundry and was impressed that within 2 hours my cloths were returned to the room washed and pressed. All in all was an amazing experience

High-end, but unstuffy and very relaxing. A new favorite hotel.
I woke up this morning at home after a long weekend at the Kempinski Vienna and was so sad I wasn't still there. The hotel is stunning, especially decorated for Christmas, and everyone working there was super nice and helpful. In fact, I think we made a mistake by not using the concierge for dinner recommendations and reservations.

We stayed in a Grand Deluxe room - the bed and sofa were comfortable - and coming from New York City, the room was huge - tons more closest storage than my actual apartment. The bathroom was probably the best part. It was gigantic with a walk-in rain shower and a separate soaking tub.

The lobby has tons of comfy places to sit and relax with a glass of Champagne - we didn't go to any of the bars or restaurants, but we did make good use of the room service. It was fantastic - not crazy expensive and really fast from ordering to delivery. Coming back to the hotel at night and ordering apple strudel for the room was a decadent treat - and at 9 euros it seemed a bargain. We ordered breakfast in the next morning and dinner that night. The dinner portions were on the small side, so keep that in mind if you are really hungry.

My only complaints would be that the pillows could have been a bit more supportive/thicker. There was a pillow menu, but the only other options were cherry pit or horse hair, and I was after a more luxe down stuffed one.

Also, there was a lot of upselling before we arrived - just a personal preference - I don't like to be pestered with emails asking me to spend 50 more euro to be upgraded from the 2nd to 3rd floor or to pre-buy Champagne etc.

My complaints are very small - and I would love the chance to stay here again. This was my first experience with the Kempinski brand (I think) and I will be seeking their hotels out in the future based on my experience at this property.

The stay at the Kempinski in Vienna can only be described with “perfect”. I have nothing that I can criticise and am 100% happy. I would come back anytime. One pays a 5* price but what one gets is a 5* experience.
The room is huge and clean to the last corner. Also they provided perfect daily room service and the room was clean every day.
The staff was very friendly and I cannot criticise a single member of staff.
Besides the hotel experience the breakfast was great as well and delicious.
All in all probably one of my best hotel stays ever

PALAIS HANSEN KEMPINSKI VIENNA the Place to be either for business or leisure...
I stayed at the Palais Hansen Kempinksi last weekend and it was by far one of the best experiences these days.... Even though I live in Vienna, such a change of scenery is really highly recommended.... "Lady in red" Vanessa gave us a warm welcome and surprised us with delicious pralines and fresh fruits... accompanied by a bottle of champagne very very fine and exquisite!
the absolute highlight was the dinner at Edvard Restaurant... the service and the food really spectacular... very well presented and explained by Laura and her colleague... I would highly recommend " the carte blanche menu" of 5 or 7 courses ... If you're ever out in town, don't miss it.... huge compliments to chef Thomas Pedevilla, Great... merciii Chef!
If you travel to Vienna, really the place to be.... Also highly recommended for the locals, Viennese... whether you want to break the routine or go out with your friends to experience something different, the Palais Hansen is the right address for it!
p.s the Suite was beautiful and I slept like a baby ...:)

Staying at Palais Hansen Kempinski is TRULY FIRST CLASS....like staying with family (the ones you truly like & love)!
My husband and I travel extensively and are very selective with hotels we stay at. Even prior to our trip, this hotel's exemplary customer service already manifested by the manner they responded to my inquiries (have had to cancel several times due to travel restrictions as a result of the pandemic). Beyond the amazing facilities, the quality of food, and exceptional service, of particular noteworthy is their professional and courteous staff from all levels who treated us with warmth and utmost hospitality. We are so happy to have finally found a hotel we consider "home" when we visit Vienna again.
