Excellent service and central location.
This hotel lives up to its billing as the best hotel in Athens. We were not disappointed. Our room with a king size bed was large enough and comfortable. On arrival we received a pleasant surprise with a room overlooking Syntagma Square and the Acropolis. The nighttime view of the Acropolis are amazing as is the view in the morning from the rooftop breakfast and restaurant when the sun rays hit the Parthenon. This hotel pampers you (turn down service every evening with chocolates). From the front desk to the restaurant, the staff is very friendly and helpful. The only negative to this hotel is the rather sterile atmosphere in the lobby. The neighboring sister hotel, The Grand Bretagne has a lively lobby atmosphere in contrast. I would stay at this hotel again. You cannot beat this hotel for its service and central location.

Fabulous Hotel
We recently stayed at the King George Hotel and were highly impressed by the property's tastful art design, spectacular level of service in all outlets and outstanding location, which enabled us to discover the wonders of Athens by foot. We booked a Classic Room with twin separated beds and courtyard view. The room was well maintained however, we found it to be relatively small. Our special thanks goes to Evalia and Sofia from the Front Desk. We joined the Marriott Rewards program, and are certainly planning to return to this lovely hotel next year.

A very good hotel in the heart of the city and best view of Acropolis from rooftop
We liked our stay at the hotel from beginning to end - rooms were big enough, comfortable, bathrooms were nice, lobby is lovely decorated, rooftop breakfast and restaurant provide amazing views of Acropolis. The hotel is on the Syntagma square, between the parliament and main shopping street of Athens. Would return there when I go back to Athens !

Best Hotel for Service, Location, Room
Thanks Evalia at Check-In for little extras and for a wonderful check-in with personality, personalization, and pizzaz. Thanks for the AMEX PLT upgrade. The Tudor view is spectacular for any time of day, and service friendly and efficient. The reason to come here, though, could be the ROOMS, ROBES, and ROYALTY in the bathrooms, but the REAL reason is Joseph the Concierge whose 5+ years of service here are unmatched for knowing the city, for English, for genuine charm, and just plain old-fashioned NICENESS, a dying trait in the hospitality business. I recommend the lobby, the Tudor, the rooms, and the location... and ask Joseph for tips to the city.

Best of the best!
We stayed at the King George for three days while in Athens and had one of the best hotel experiences of our lives. We were upgraded to a suite thanks to platinum SPG status and there were even a dozen fresh roses waiting in the room for us.

Super comfortable bed and great rain shower, even full sized bathroom amenities which sounds like a little thing but is so nice when traveling. The sitting room and decor made a traditional European-sized hotel room feel open and airy. The staff was wonderful. We had a delicious breakfast at The Tudor every day while looking at the Acropolis.

The location is also great, right next to the Metro and within walking distance of everything you’d want to do in Athens. I can’t recommend it highly enough!

Royal Treatment and Superb Location, Superior Dining Room & Restaurant
We recently stayed at King George on two separate occasions and enjoyed both visits tremendously. Our room was lovely and well appointed. The front desk team provided us with great suggestions for dining, shopping and arranged for a wonderful private guide. Our guide gave us a close-up view of all things Athens and escorted us to the major tourist sites such as The Acropolis. The dining experience at King George far surpasses many other hotel restaurants we have experienced. The managers, chef and serving team provide both a warm welcome and excellent food which is as good as it gets in any fine dining restaurant. Plus, there is a wonderful view of the
Acropolis. We highly recommend staying here and would surely stay again.

What a great stay!
We stayed here for one night before our flight out of Athens. Let me just say that the customer service at this place is top notch. They went out of their way for everything! everyone was so so nice and helpful. Super polite and friendly! I can't say it enough. everything was very nice including the rooms and beds! I will say one thing I really didn't like was their showers and shower head. The way they have it is not good at all with just the handheld shower head.
We had dinner at the restaurant called Tudor hall and it was exquisite! all of it! we also had breakfast there and it was good but not as good. I would stay again here, in a heartbeat. You get what you pay for!

Excellent Location
We spent four nights at the hotel, two when we arrived in Athens and two at the end of our holiday. We stayed at the hotel last year and new exactly what to expect.

Our first room was a wonderful suite overlooking the square on the top floor above the restaurant. It had magnificent views of the parliament and across to the acropolis. Our return stay we had a smaller room overlooking the internal courtyard. I always remember the beds were comfortable and they did not disappoint.

The staff are very friendly and looked after us well. We had local chocolates in our room every night. Breakfast is in the restaurant and the balcony overlooks the acropolis. The food is excellent from the buffet and ordering from the menu.

The hotel location is perfect for everything and all the major sites are within easy walking distance. Around the corner is an area called Kolonaki and we spent quite a bit of time wondering the streets and enjoying the bars in this area away from all the tourists.

The only issue we had with the hotel is that the lifts are old and a couple of times were not working so we had to walk down eight floors. Not the end of the world considering the country we are in.

We had breakfasts on the

Wonderful accommodation
We arrived Saturday afternoon and upon checking in it was obvious this would be a nice stay. From check in with Joseph and all the days here, we have been extremely pleased.

There is a a very nice breakfast in the Tudor room on the 7th floor with a great view of the Acropolis. The service is excellent and the food very good. The selection of pastries only exceeded by how good they all were.

The location of this hotel is perfect for sight seeing and shopping and restaurants. We walked everywhere. As a guest at King George you also have access to the facilities at their sister hotel next door. There is an indoor pool and a few different types of steam rooms (infused with herbs as well as other things).

If you stay at the King George you will surely be glad you did.

We stayed 3 nights in early November after a cruise - and were VERY happy with the hotel choice. A little pricier than what we are used to, however, the service, room (upgraded), attention to detail and style, and for sure the location made it all worth it. Front desk was very friendly and helpful, and when had ANY request the hotel was on it.

We also ate at Tudor Hall for all breakfasts, and one dinner - all very good, great views, and service and attention excellent again.

Strongly recommend this hotel and location. Also handy to be a sister property to next door upscale hotel (GB). King George did not have much of a lobby and overall smaller property while GB bigger, huge impressive lobby. But we were very happy staying at King George and what it provided.

The King George Hotel is a lovely hotel and in a great location near Plaka as well as the Parliament Building. The staff was very nice and welcoming and gave us lots of help in using the subway and train system. Our room and bath was a bit on the small side but most were bigger than ours. We had a slight view of the Acropolis though we really hadn't expected any view. We were also next door to the Hotel Grande Bretagne where we had drinks and appetizers one evening with a fabulous view of the Acropolis. We did not have breakfast included in our rate as we were happy to try the many options near the hotel for coffee and breakfast.
