Superb...
Single night stay in my favourite hotel in Oslo

Staff very friendly, professional and helpful

Rooms are spacious and very comfortable and modern. Great Amenities. Nice little touch in evening with tea and cookies in room.

Do note...many of the rooms face directly into apartments or the Bahr office. So only a few rooms at the north end on higher floors have a proper view (which when you get it is fantastic)

Breakfast buffet is terrific. Very good selection. The butter from roros I just adore

Gym is well equipped. running and step machines as cardio. Reasonable free weight selections though could increase weights (max barbell of 28kg). Didn’t visit the pool and spa this visit

Like coming home
This hotel is beyond the expected.
I have been staying for four years for work.
The design and overall experience in the hotel is truly wonderful. The most beautiful design and the most comfortable rooms.
The restaurant is for food and wine lovers. The staff are literally amazing.
Dominic the manager treats every body as if they are family.
I cannot express how impressed I am every time I stay.

Great service, fabulous breakfast buffet
Loved the location right on the water. The staff was very attentive and friendly and the rooms were comfy with all the amenities. The highlight for us was the breakfast buffet - OMG - just delicious. Wonderfully fresh bread and croissants, House made jams and juices, yummy granola with a great selection of fruits and seeds, quality cold cuts (including reindeer salami), and a made-to-order counter where my husband got a wonderful smoked salmon Benedict.

Definitely Oslo best hotel – 5 star service, food and rooms
As an experienced traveler, I will definitely say that this is one of the better stays I've had in a long long time. Check in was quick and easy, and the staff was friendly. The room we had was amazing; clean, comfortable and spacey. Nice touch with Netflix and other streaming services on the hotel TV. Before going to breakfast me and my wife went to the SPA for some sauna and swimming. Wonderful and spacey SPA. I will definitely recommend visiting that as well. The breakfast is first class with something for everyone.

It's very rare, especially for us, to not check out early in the morning to go for sightseeing. But on THE THIEF you don't wanna go. So for the first time in ages we checked out at 12.00, after sleeping in, going to the spa and eating breakfast.

Are you in Oslo? Go for The Thief. It's worth it.

A wonderful memory!
We loved this hotel - such a nice combination of world-class elegance and modern chic! Right on the water with room views of the canals, the thief has all the amenities you could ask for, white-glove service, really nice rooms with beautiful views (the balconies have lucite retaining walls - and each terrace's glows a slightly different color, so when you are out on yours and looking at the others, it is really modern and cool - plus the views are amazing. The pub downstairs has that old-world handsomeness that contrasts with the multi-cultural and modern decor everywhere else, while the outside is rounded and super modern, so it is a fun juxtaposition of styles that work together harmoniously. The best of all the styles sort-of mashed-up in a cool way. The food in the breakfast spread is wonderful - no stone left unturned and top quality of everything. You really need no more meals after breakfast LOL. The hotel is walking distance from everything so you are close to the buzz buzz but also can duck away. The rooftop bar was our favorite part - very chic and open and loungy - our favorite memories was meeting as a family up there to have cocktails before heading out on the town (walking of course!) only negative - the blow dryers are useless - bring your own and a converter!

Absolutely Stolen by this great Hotel
Everything about this hotel is amazing. Stunning Architecture, The staff super friendly, felt so welcome. The cushions are very comfortable, I swear I never wanted to leave this hotel. After our workshop in another building, i came back and my bed was opened ready for me to sleep, water & glass on my bedside table, tea and a flask of hot water, curtains closed and i called reception with happy tears on my cheeks to thank them and the receptionist said, "we love guests like you, enjoy...etc.OKAY breakfast was BOMB (amazing) loved it. I love the Thief Hotel, I would come over and over again. Value for money, Thank you

New Years Perfection
From start to finish this was an amazing experience. We got to the hotel early and they were gracious enough to allow us to check in early. The room was spotless and well laid out. Housekeeping were always there to make sure everything was clean and tidy. The breakfast was - in short - OUT OF THIS WORLD!! The food was amazing. The best thing about this hotel would have to be the staff. They really make the hotel spectacular and truly care about what they do. I cannot say enough great things about this hotel and the staff.Only one "negative" remark. It would be that we couldn't figure out how to work the do not disturb vs the please make up our room for the first few days. Eventually we asked and figured it out. I wouldn't even call that a bad thing. Just 2 people that can't figure out technology. And if that is the worse thing about a hotel - then its a wonderful place to stay.

Pretty average for the price
Very friendly staff and good location, very comfortable bed..... but a lot of money (deluxe room) for not that much extra - balcony with a view into the office across the street!!

The room service was only 10am to midnight- no breakfast in the room option

The bar only opened at 6pm, no where to have a relaxing afternoon beer!!

And the downstairs bar was too small for the hotel size

The overall feel is of an over priced boutique hotel trying to serve a business customer base

But the staff are very friendly and that was the big redeeming feature.

We had actually planned two days in Copenhagen by New Year. Chose an overnight stay at the Thief instead due to Covid. Both my wife and I had a great time. Upon check-in we were greeted with upgraded rooms a junior suite. Also chose to keep the room until 6pm the next day. The beds were very comfortable and the room itself was tastefully decorated. The breakfast is the best I have had in any hotel. Have stayed at Carlton in Singapore and Shangri La in Manila many times this one surpassed them both. Everything I tasted had top standard. In addition, there was a relaxed atmosphere that made us want to sit for a long time at breakfast, the service was also great. This is something that is tempting to repeat

I live in Oslo. But my wife and I would always do Hotel Hopping with the hotels in the capital and surrounding areas. It was our first time to stay in The Thief. I like the services they provide. The people in the reception were so friendly, the people serving during breakfast were nice and helpful. I like so much that the bathtub, toilet, and shower room are all separated from each other. The lights are even automatic in the room. We had a great stay in the hotel

Received a gift card from friends, and had the best time at The Thief. Went to the spa, although it is small, it had plenty of different rooms and treatments, and a lovely pool.
Our room was beautifully decorated and we were able to bring our dog with us.
Staff was friendly and professional, and the restaurant served magnificent food. We had a blast! Also the continental breakfast in the morning was way beyond expectations!

Very nice staff but not so great food at the restaurant. And they confused my entrée, so that's a big question mark for me when I'm seeing the other reviews.. And the worst part was the massage. The worst and most expensive I've ever had. The spa itself was clean and nice (although very small), but the massage guy (Vladimir) knows nothing whatsoever about massages. And I mention that I booked a classic massage, nothing extraordinary, but still... not good, painful, he wasn't listening when I was saying that is not OK... I don't recommend this massage therapist at all.

The Thief always delivers! Very friendly and professional staff, all the way from the front desk through the breakfast staff to the cleaners. Top notch, especially with the perks of that they even put a thermos with hot tea water and of course a bag of organic tea in yout room..! Great service. Highly recommended!
