For the cost of my 5 night stay I think this represented not too good value. I had to locate here from another hotel in Naples (due to no chance to extend my stay) which was comparative in cost but with much more in terms of amenities and services. At the Mercure there is no bar and no room service. And no Gym. Breakfast is available but after then, that’s it. To this end I’d classify it as a Bed and Breakfast….not a hotel. That being said, it is surrounded by many, many cafes and restaurants and one or mini supermarkets. The public areas were clean, well presented, tastefully decorated and the reception staff pleasant. My room faced the rear of the hotel but was covered in scaffolding so the small balcony was fenced off. The AC worked but didn’t seem to run cold. In fact, it made the room warmer even with the thermostat on max cool - so it remained off. The rooms are of good standard but tired in a few areas, notably the bathroom. I should imagine this cost of this hotel is testimony that it is in a ‘downtown’ area but there are better hotels of comparative cost in Napoli - if you don’t mind being a bit further out from the Port. 3 out of 5 due to lack of hotel amenities and cost. I type this back in my old hotel (Which now has room) a bit out of the centre but with more to eat, drink, see and do for the same money.

I think it was once a 4 star hotel but it is very dated. The room we were first shown to hadn’t been cleaned since the last guests. The toilet had problems flushing and the window didn’t shut properly. The air con also seemed to run warm so we had to turn it off. To be fair we were given another room but I wouldn’t expect that from a 4 star hotel. At the moment they are working on the exterior of the hotel so lots of banging and men waling past your window! If you just want somewhere to stay this is a great hotel but there is no luxury involved so I think it was very overpriced!

I think they can improve by providing make up removal tissues as Ibis style hotel does in Madrid. It s true care about customers, while in Mercury they put only those things which ppl almost never use.

Well, it was OK. I read a lot of bad reviews, and I thought I would find something really bad, but it was not the case. I arrived at 20:00 and they were already waiting for me. The room was quite OK, it was very cold outside, but the heater was on. There was a view to the Port, what was also OK. A minibar with 2 waters, juice were available, but I didnt drink it - but in fact I used the minibar to make some Proseccos colder, so it is really an interesting advantage. A disvantage: There were no Bottle opener, so I could not open some red wines. I could have also asked at the recepcion, but OK. The only problem, we payed for breakfast for 2 people, the 3 days we stayed, but e could have only breakfast the first day... we just renounced to it, very simple, egg prepared since 7h and extremely dry, artificial juices... If I knew it would be this kind of breakfast, I would not pay... I decide never more pay breakfast in advance, just to avoid such situation.. after the first day, we left every morning to have breakfast outside. Anyway, I would come back to stay in Mercure (just refusing the breakfast). The location is really perfect, quite near the Alibus stop - so just a quick ride to the Airport.
