You get more than you paid for
Overall just great hotel. Centrally located, staff are more than just friendly (the level of service from a reception desk clerk to a cleaning lady is higher than I got in London or New York). Attention to the smallest details in design and comfort. Basically the price you pay for this place is not even close to the service you get.
The only unfortunate thing is the smell of the cigarettes. The structure of the building is that all rooms are around the central space where people are allowed to smoke inside of the building on the first floor in the bar area, and so the smell is actually pretty strong. Other than that - would definitely stay there again, and definitely recommend this hotel.

Great hotel in a perfect location
Stayed here for two nights in August 2018 with a friend.

We were after a well located hotel for a good price and found this one online. We got an Uber to the hotel and the friendly and chatty concierge welcomed us.

As other reviewers have said, the hotel is decked out with plush wood. The staff member on reception was really helpful, spoke fluent English and checked us in quickly. The lobby has a few sofas and an atrium up through the hotel with lifts to the floors above.

We had a twin room which was very large and spacious (check out the photos). The room had fabric on the door and had big, comfy beds. There was also a desk, chair, small dining table with chairs, TV with a good selection of channels which included everything from Nickelodeon to adult stuff. There was a fitted wardrobe with a safe, a fridge and air con. We had plenty of room for our luggage and the room was spotlessly clean.

The bathroom was also large and had a shower over the bath, with plenty of hot water and good water pressure. There were two sinks, a toilet and a bidet. The towels were all fluffy and clean, plus they provided a good selection of toiletries. There was also the ubiquitous telephone by the toilet just in case you needed it.

Another quirk was there was an automatic light by the door to the room and the bathroom that was motion based. We couldn't find out how to turn it off. Otherwise, the fixtures in the room were all really modern and the decor was going for Eastern elegance.

The hotel's wifi didn't have the best signal strength and cut in and out a bit, but the speed was good when connected. The hotel also provided a turn down service. We didn't have breakfast here as it's right in the middle of Minsk so opted to head out.

Overall, I liked this hotel however my friend liked it more because of the great location.

Excellent location and very pleasant staff
A friend and I stayed at this hotel for a few nights in January 2019. Both of us found that our rooms were immaculately clean and that the staff at the hotel was, without exception, very pleasant and helpful.

The main reason we chose this hotel was the location. It really is located in the center of Minsk - a more central location is hard to imagine. Within a few minutes, one can walk to the GUM department store, the Central Book Store, the main government buildings, an underground shopping center, a decent supermarket, the metro station that serves as the crossing of both metro lines, the main post office, the theatre, many restaurants and bars, and more. For this reason alone, I do not regret my choice of hotel.

The rooms were very large and generously furnished. Everything worked perfectly well. The only criticism - the décor of the rooms was quite ugly. Think Russian nouveau riche of the 1990s and early 2000s.

Breakfast was plentiful, with lots of choice. What made the breakfast stand out to me is that the food served was quite Belarusian. As many upscale chain restaurants, one gets the same food wherever one goes, with perhaps one or two nods to local traditions. Here, there were always pancakes, a good assortment of sausages and hams, excellent bread, fresh juices (not only orange juice!) and local cakes. The coffee was not the best, but that is really the only criticism we had of the breakfast.

Laundry service was extremely prompt and the staff working at reception were very helpful. The staff at breakfast also were always cheerful and ready to bring juice and coffee. These staff members make guests feel special at this hotel. For them, I would gladly endure the new Russian décor anytime!

WOOWOO
We arrived HOTEL EUROPA. And from the first moment we felt the luxury.
The doorman ran to the the car, opened he doors and helped us with the luggage.
The reception desk were more than welcoming, and the total feeling was like they really were waiting for us.
The room was BIG, AND SPOTLESS CLEAN.
The view from the room balcony was of white Minsk.
The breakfast was WOWOOO (even Cavier was served).
Location: close to all. Perfect.
So, this is the place to stay when you are in Minsk.
Thank you.

Classic Europa Hotel
We checked in 24 March - Excellent hotel down town Minsk, its a flair of La belle Epoque in this renovated pearl.

Clean and tidy, reception people helpful & fluent in English, forget old time communism and some bad newspaper stories, Europa hotel and Minsk is friendly and open minded.

There is a nice bar on the bottom floor, a top restaurant for evening dinner and a very good breakfast.

A nice pool and sauna as well - I will definitely come back when next time in Minsk, by the way, by Western standards the prices were very moderate, we paid EUR 117 for 3 people in one room, breakfast included.

Location location location
Yes, Hotel Europe is all about its location. A 40 minute drive from the airport to central Minsk it’s located right next to the old town. Just a few minutes walk and you have lively bars and restaurants to pick for dinner or a beer-all very affordable. In the opposite direction the circus is a 10 min walk, yes it is a very walkable city. Hotel check in was fast and efficient and no annoying bellboys to take your luggage to the room expecting a tip! The room was massive, twin with 2 very large beds, and the bathroom equally big with lovely underfloor heating. All corridors have local art on display/for sale which is a nice touch. I stayed on a bed only basis, the hotel charging a whopping Euro 25 per person for breakfast which is a rip off. The hotel staff quite rightly directed us to a nearby cafe/patisserie instead at a fraction of the cost. There is a swimming pool/sauna which closes at 8pm so we didn’t make it in time and next to the pool a nightclub which didn’t look open. Staff were all friendly and efficient. A good hotel with a great location!

Well located hotel in old town
I stayed here for 2 nights while on business in Minsk. The reception staff were all friendly and helpful and made me feel welcome.

My room was very nice with a good, comfortable bed and plenty of storage space. I liked the cleanliness. I would have liked more bath towels if possible. That said it was a very nice place and the location was really good for all the places I needed to visit, being really near the old town.

The breakfast was pleasant with good coffee and plenty of options. There was also a guitarist playing during the breakfast which was nice.

I would stay here again.

It was a good choice
The hotel is rebuilt on a site of a classic hotel destroyed in the war. It is located across the square from the old City Hall, three churches, and a small reconstructed "old city Minsk". The hotel was clean and comfortable. The room was large with a view of the square, and the bathroom was well appointed, with heat below the tiled floor, which made it pleasant in the midst of winter The room was very quiet. The TV includes CNN and BBC. The wifi is free, and very strong (you can stream videos over YouTube, for example). The staff is friendly, and the breakfast room features a nice touch -- a young man playing softly on an acoustic guitar. My only complaint is the bar on the ground floor beneath the atrium that runs to the top floor. Smoking is allowed, and many bar users take full advantage of that right, which meant I avoided the bar. I did note repeatedly that when I walked out of my room the smell of cigarette and cigar smoke was strong in the hallways when walking to the elevator from my room, which is not surprising since the smoke from the bar was rising through the atrium. Otherwise, it was a very good choice all around.

Five star hotel but breakfast is not great
Hotel Europe is in a very convenient location in the centre of the city. It's a more classic hotel but the rooms are nice, spacious and well equipped. The restaurant where breakfast is served is decorated in a modern style and very nice - they even have a Spanish guitarist in the mornings - a nice touch of class. One small suggestion - as a five star hotel the breakfast food options are limited and not really geared to western guests. Hot dogs and tough grilled sausages are sub-par. There should also be a better potato option like hash browns which are always popular and beans. However staff generally are friendly and attentive. And I would definitely visit again.

Nice hotel with friendly service
Very good location in central Minsk with a few minutes walk to shopping, bars and restaurants.

Nice and clean. Spacious rooms and friendly service. The health club is more a room with a treadmill but pool and jacuzzi is nice .

Extra credit for the guitar entertainment at breakfast.
I will visit again !

Great staff, great location
The hotel is really well located, very close to the cathedral and other churches (You get to hear the bells quite early in the morning) and in easy walking distance of most of the central tourist sites and shops. It’s a lovely, interesting area.
The staff are really friendly and helpful, though English is a little limited for some of them. There’s a cute little bar in the main atrium area and the restaurant is good, though the food takes an age (at least it’s cooked to order) and it’s very quiet -I was the only person in it -twice. Breakfast is very elegantly laid out and is ample.
The rooms surround the atrium which is beautifully decorated, with art deco railings and fake plants that look almost real. You can see down to the bar. You also get to see it from the glass sided lifts. My room was spacious and well fitted out, with views across a square, but the carpet was heavily stained. It looked as if there had been a flood. The bed is also very hard- I found it tough on my back.

Excellent modern hotel in the center of Minsk, very convenient for both business and pleasure travel
The hotel has a super location, right at the center of Minsk, walking distance to all the attractions the city has to offer. Unlike other Old Grandy style hotels of the Soviet era, this is a truly Western style hotel with a great lobby, a very friendly and efficient staff at the reception, a copious buffet breakfast, including salmon caviar and other goodies, a spacious room, and this for less than 150 US $ per night, an excellent value by European standards...Make sure to order your taxi to the airport through the hotel, for a fixed price (including receipt) ...it costs one third less than it does if the taximeter is used...as I found out when I was ripped off on my way from the airport to the hotel.

Just next to the hotel is the Town Hall and the Main Cathedral complex which is the most attractive part of the city. The area is full of cafes and restaurants of all sorts, including MacDonald's, of course, and a bit further down, Burger King and KFC always full with young people. Three minutes walk from the hotel you will also find the Tsentralny supermarket where you should buy your mineral water bottles as it is not advisable to drink tap water, and the daily complimentary bottle offered by the hotel would not be enough.

The only negative remark I have on the hotel is the fact that they asked me for full payment up front, at check-in rather than at check-out as it is usually the case in such hotels...After having received the details of our credit card as guarantee, they should not fear so much that we will run away without paying!...

Technically a 5 star hotel, but a lot to learn. Start with an honest mile and let the guest feel welcome. Now it feels like entering the pass control. The waitresses in the restaurant should at least know the basics in English and the kitchen shouldn’t deliver a lamb rack that has been prepared days before and then passed a quick warm up.
If you like to follow an European trend and a modern way of life, get som non-alcoholic beers and wine too. Everybody doesn’t drink vodka.
The breakfast was worth 5 stars too with waiters that spoke English. Great!

A world standard 5star hotel in the city of Minsk in the Republic of Belarus. It is by all standard a 5 star hotel. The front office is superb and operates 24/7 and staffs here are fantastically good, their gym, bar, swimming pool, beauty salon and business centre are second to none. The rooms are very comfortable and the restaurant offers varieties of international menu. Though the room rates are about the highest in Minsk, their services are very good. A nice place to be on holidays.

Very good location. I liked the room as a whole. But I was upset by the non-working shower and grayish towels / robes. The breakfast could also be better - the disassembled products were not immediately replenished, the scramble was watery, like the scrambled eggs. Service is good.

We celebrated an important event - the wedding of our daughter. After the first communication with the administrator of the restaurant Victoria, there was not the slightest doubt about the choice of the restaurant and hotel. Help in everything, from making the menu, ending with an unexpected gift for our event - live music. Service, menu, room for newlyweds - at the highest level. It is impossible to single out anything separately, because a well-coordinated team works to help organize the holiday and resolve issues of concern. I was pleasantly surprised by the cost of the banquet menu. Not expected, but prices are very competitive in relation to many restaurants in the capital. Everything is delicious and beautiful setting. Thanks to all the staff!
