Nice hotel but a bit okd style
The hotel building is gorgeous and very elegant but the interior design feels a bit outdated, even if well maintained.
Carpet on the floor is quite old, same for the breakfast room which looks a bit out of style.
Food was ok and service also ok, but not memorable.
The gym was really outstanding (open also to non-hotel guests). The only thing is you need to cross the garden to get to it from the hotel and if you don’t want to freeze during winter you need a jacket

Beautiful hotel
This is a beautiful hotel in a great location near Retiro Park. Architecture of building is quite something- externally very photogenic and internally it has been sensitively maintained yet also updated for the modern day guest. The glass domed ceiling in the Salon is just beautiful. Staff very helpful and friendly. Bedrooms good size particularly for a Capital City.

nice stay
was a nice stay in this hotel. only the air ventilator was rather noisy especially for the night. and I was wondering in such an exclusive 5 start hotel, except the reception, rest staff rarely speak any english. no matter what simple questions I asked, the answer was alway the same: "No problem"

Nice hotel but not over the top
We enjoyed our two night stay. Good location as it was not so super busy.
First class hotel with services you would expect. They do need to upgrade pillows as they were flat as a pancake or either giant size( both uncomfortable) stayed in room 747 on the back side and it was quiet. It was against the lift so I heard that but I am a very lite sleeper. Easy walk to Retiro Park and Prado and felt very safe. I would probably stay here again

you can not get better from a hotel which has the ideal location close to monuments and the best shopping area , amazing restaurants at walking distance , excellent service and rooms which are traditional however modern at the same time. great breakfast and very good service we have been staying for 10 years there and we see a small improvement to its already excellent standards year after year

I’ve realised that a great hotel makes all the difference in Madrid. My husband stays here all the time, and i finally has the pleasure. Perfect location on Velasquez, 2 brilliant restaurants onsite: Goizeko and Kabuki Japanese. Apart from this some grande bar and reception area, fast elevators and super busy breakfast area. Good staff and ample variety. Great coffee. Lots Of light, not a dark dingy hotel. Decorated superbly for Christmas. The only negative: no bathtub: only showers in our room. Apart from this, a 10

Wellington five stars hotel in Madrid is a rather posh and somewhat old style, mostly in the good meaning. with grander. The lobby and foyer are well decorated, service standard is high and rooms are spacious with large bed and decorated with heavy curtains and with wooden finish and furniture. Bathroom is nice but somewhat less comfortable compared to newer hotels.
Reception is kind and explanations are provided patiently also in English. Once arriving to the hotel there is always a person that will take care of your luggage. As should be in these level of hotels.
The hotel is very well situated in a posh and centric quarter of the city and with nearby all the luxury shopping streets prestigious shops.
The concierge services are somewhat inferior as it is provided by the reception staff and not by a separate expert person (in a separate desk) that should be extremely knowledgeable to provide ALL details about everything that is going around in the big city and guidance about what, where and when. Pity. Also prices are high and breakfast cost is extremely high

Old hotel, which is normally fine but this was way, way, way overpriced for what it is.
Don't get me wrong - it was nice, and I like the style of these older buildings, but at some point you need to adjust your price.
Everything felt very stuffy. Almost snobby. The staff made me feel like I was doing everything wrong. They weren't rude, but they weren't friendly either. I've stayed at 5 star hotels plenty of times so it's not as if I don't know how they operate. This place seems to have its own etiquette and they expect you to know it.
The room was tiny and cluttered, to say the least. There's hardly any closet space, and no place to put your empty luggage once you unpack - it just becomes part of the room decor. Also, there was an odd smell throughout the hotel.
The bathroom was even smaller. Uncomfortably so. And the toiletries are those tiny bottles you would expect from a cheap motel.
The ac was very loud, and although it sounded like it would be great, it wasn't. The room was quite warm.
The description given was 1 king bed or 2 twin beds, but I wasn't given a choice. It was 2 twin beds next to each other. I woke up in the middle of the night sandwiched between them.
Honestly, I couldn't wait to get out. I checked out early and booked another 5 star hotel that I'm MUCH happier with.

Amazing breakfast, professional staff, very good location. The beds and bedding are of excellent quality. Unfortunately, the ventilation system works as loudly as on an airplane. Bathroom plumbing are very old. Strange smell.

The standard room is very poor and out of date. The bed is good, the shower no pressure at all. breakfast is good and with good variety
The Spa is not managed by the hotel and huge prices were asked for gym and the pool
For a frequent guest I was very disappointed.
