Old hotel, which is normally fine but this was way, way, way overpriced for what it is.
Don't get me wrong - it was nice, and I like the style of these older buildings, but at some point you need to adjust your price.
Everything felt very stuffy. Almost snobby. The staff made me feel like I was doing everything wrong. They weren't rude, but they weren't friendly either. I've stayed at 5 star hotels plenty of times so it's not as if I don't know how they operate. This place seems to have its own etiquette and they expect you to know it.
The room was tiny and cluttered, to say the least. There's hardly any closet space, and no place to put your empty luggage once you unpack - it just becomes part of the room decor. Also, there was an odd smell throughout the hotel.
The bathroom was even smaller. Uncomfortably so. And the toiletries are those tiny bottles you would expect from a cheap motel.
The ac was very loud, and although it sounded like it would be great, it wasn't. The room was quite warm.
The description given was 1 king bed or 2 twin beds, but I wasn't given a choice. It was 2 twin beds next to each other. I woke up in the middle of the night sandwiched between them.
Honestly, I couldn't wait to get out. I checked out early and booked another 5 star hotel that I'm MUCH happier with.
