Fairmont Grand Hotel Geneva

Great hotel with great amenities and service. I was thoroughly impressed with the service of the hotel. Extremely timely, professional and courteous. The room was fantastic. My wife worked in the room while I worked in the city and the room provided plenty of space for her and all of our stuff. Happy to have good, working air conditioning after spending time in a couple of hotels without proper a/c. One very small detail that was less than satisfactory was that there wasn't an ironing board and iron in the room, which I thought was odd. However, some of my colleagues had irons and ironing boards in their rooms and when I asked, it was immediately brought to me. The reason this is 4 stars and not 5 is because I was going to be charged for vodka, cognac, and water from my hotel room's mini bar when we didn't drink those items. We also didn't have any hotel staff clean our room, so it was odd that they assumed those specific 3 items. I was asked to check the bill before paying or otherwise wouldn't have caught it. So I wonder if it is their normal practice to add items to the bill and then request that you check the bill so you won't question the charge later. I found this to be in poor taste at the end of a great stay.

A hotel with historical importance for especially Turkish people, as well being a beautiful building and apparently providing all the comfort a hotel may have to offer in the classical sense. This is the place where major conferences following the independence war of the Turkish people have taken place. A first major step in the establishment of the new republic.

The best hotel in Geneva, we feel so comfortable. All employees, restaurant, reception, concierge are so helpful and polite. Wonderful breakfast everyday and the rooms are very cleaned.

I have mixed emotions writing this review I would like to give more better ratings but small simple things turned me of giving a better review I stayed in the hotel 5 years ago when it was called grand hotel kempinski geneva it was way much better. In this hotel the staff is great all the credit goes to the staff but the furniture, cutleries and over all hotel conditions have fallen way to bad (over used) and needs to be renovated to gain back its original shape i love the fact that shops like pharmacies and rental cars are in the hotel premises but i will find my self another hotel in my next visit to geneva. But i did enjoy my stay in this hotel the housekeeping service is so fast and clean.
