Hotel Heritage - Relais & Chateaux

My husband and I have just returned from a fabulous stay. After two years of Covid restrictions with no travel, I could not have picked a better hotel. All of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We loved the breakfast each morning. We also dined one evening in the restaurant. The food and service were impeccable. Location is also great.

The room was painfully small and there was very little room for luggage or closets. Bathroom was also extremely small and inconvenient. We appreciate it that the Hotel is in an old building and has limited space within the layout of the building. But we would not stay here again because of the size. There was no indication that the rooms were so small. We would have chosen another hotel if we had known.  We appreciate the efforts of the management to make an attractive hotel and it is stylish in only the rooms were not so cramped. The restaurant was a major disappointment. The set menu was  little tasteless morsels more show that fine cuisine. Definitely would not recommend the restaurant because of the food.

The double bed was 2 singles put together. The sofa bed was old and ugly. The TVs don't have any films and neither does the hotel have cables to connect ypur phone to your TV. You cant stream films on the ipad they provide in the room as the WiFi Internet isn't good enough. So when bruges sleeps by 10pm you literally have nothing to do. They don't provide the usual toothbrushes or razors in the bathroom. But on the upside the downstairs of the hotel is real cute. The room qith the fireplace is cosy and the reception area has  a sofa with 2 teddybears which are also real cute. The room service menu is tiny and the food arrived cold. Overall for 500euros a night during peak season it's definitely not worth the money.

The owners have clearly taken great care in presenting a property that to the guests feels like a warm and welcoming home. The decor is elegant but yet comfortable, and the customer service of the property staff was outstanding. We treated ourselves to the breakfast one morning and the poached eggs were some of the best we have ever had! We also took advantage of the sauna and steam room service that came with the room which was a nice way to spend a rainy afternoon. If we return to Bruges, we will definitely return Relais & Chateaux -- the property definitely made our visit that much more memorable. Thank you.
