Good overall hotel
The Divani Caravel is a fine hotel for those looking to explore the city a bit.

Location: It's located in a nicer, upscale part of town, but it's not really walking distance to the historic parts. While you can see the Acropolis from the rooftop pool, it's still about an hour walk to the Acropolis from the hotel, or around 20 minutes by taxi. There are several good restaurants nearby, but you will want to head west a bit toward the city center to explore better options.

Rooms: The rooms are fine, about what I expect from an international Marriott-type hotel. Nothing exceptional, but nothing horrific to write about here, either.

Pool: It's not very large, and on nice days expect it to get crowded up there. Seats can be at a premium. There's also a rooftop bar, but like all food and drink options in a hotel, it's quite overpriced for what you get.

Food: The breakfast option is plentiful and has options for most dietary types. Much like the rooms, it was comparable to what you'd find in an international Marriott. I did not eat at the restaurant for dinner as there are several fine options within walking distance of the hotel.

A perfect hotel to visit Athens
I had hesitated to try gain this hotel. I was there before 2000 and remained with some images of an old fashion hotel. The surprise was complete. Renovated, clean and a real 5 star. Plus the location which is perfect for a city break or more. Plus the services. Not to forget the wifi working well beyond expectation. And the good breakfast, my personal test for all hotels.

Reception Staff Amazing !!
The major reason that I have made a review is that I was extremely well looked after by the Reception staff, in particular, Aggeliki ("Angela"). I was running the Athens marathon during my stay and she provided me with flexibility on my room and checkout arrangements. Without her making efforts to see that I had my room available when I finished running, I would have had timing issues in getting back to the airport - so, BIG THANKS to her - and other reception staff for their kindness and professionalism .
Room lovely and clean, great location close to all amenities .
Even one of the Porters helped me to my transfer (car) when i left, joked about my sore (running) legs and said "see you for next year's marathon" - he was a top man !

Very comfortable hotel
I spent two night at the Divani Caravel with a tour group and was very satisfied. We had a group buffet dinner the first night and it offered a nice variety of options and some especially good deserts. Each morning we had a nice included breakfast. There are several places to eat within easy walking distance and the hotel is well located near the city center. I was pretty tired both nights so I didn't partake of many of the amenities, but my room was very comfortable and had everything I needed.

An Athens Gem
We stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks in August. Located just a few minutes from the main downtown area,on a bus route,it was very convenient-only about 4 euros by cab to the best shopping in Central Athens. The staff was very friendly and efficient-even helped us with our planned excursions by contacting tour companies and arranging transportation. Our room was immaculate with daily maid service and fresh linens whenever we wanted. For us, the absolute highlight was the rooftop pool. After a long, hot day as busy tourists, it was a real treat to go up to the pool to relax and be able to see the Acropolis in the distance!

Just ok
We stayed at this hotel prior to a cruise. The service was not what you expect for a high end hotel. We checked in after a long day/night of flights and touring all day, so we were really tired. We were given a room (after the check in person confirmed our names) . There was someone who escorted us to our room and showed us around the room to explain different things. Our luggage arrived soon, and this person also wanted to explain about the room to us (same information as the first person so we were well informed). By this time, we had been there about 30 minutes. We took an additional 30 minutes or so getting situated. Then, there was a knock on our door and a bellman told me we had been given the wrong room. It was a regular room, nothing fancy by any means even though we had requested a upgrade. It took about 20 minutes and us trying to figure out what was going on (partially due to a language barrier), to find out we were staying in the same room we were given. We still are unclear as to what the confusion was and they gave us new keys to the same room, it was very confusing. As mentioned in other reviews, the shower is small. We did not have a view worth mentioning from our room and did not go to the roof top, so can't comment about any views there. Restaurants within walking distance are good. The fitness room had limited hours so we were not use while we were there.

Clean, good food and fantastic roof top pool
Okay so I stayed here for 3 nights but in business so in some respects can’t complain.... but if I’d been here for leisure I’d have been disappointed. My room was small (tho clean and well maintained) but had virtually no natural light with only one small window that ‘looked’ (and I use that word advisedly) into an internal courtyard. It was depressing and very very average. It also smelled of smoke despite requesting a non-smoking room. The bathroom was clean and modern. It deserves a 2 rating on this alone but the bathroom and toiletries were very good.

The food though was very good - I had both room service (the Nefeli salad) and various lunches and breakfast.

The roof top look was stunning (not that I exactly saw much of it). Again very modern with great views over the city.

So all things said I would stay here but I’d be very careful around which room I got, as it really shook my impression.

Comfortable hotel
My husband and I stayed at this lovely hotel for a day only as we were flying out at 23hoo back home. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, fully equipped with a mini -bar with complimentary ea and coffee. This was the second hotel that we stayed in Athens , the first being the Phillipos. It is conveniently situated and you can get to any destination by foot, subway or bus service. The only ehgative input I have is that when we requested for a scale to weigh our luggage, they could not send one up to our room,as it was stolen. we were not even offered a service where a porter could fetch our luggage and take it to reception area where some-one could weigh it. We eventually took our luggages to the reception area, where a porter told us he would be back shortly with it. He went into another elevator and 15 mins later we were still waiting for our luggage, that would be my only gripe in terms of service. Overall I would recommed this hotel.

Thoroughly Modern, Clean, Friendly, Just Plain Great
Our first hotel on our sixteen day tour of Greece was the Divani Caravel. In all, we checked in and out a total of three times, spending six nights in all. In retrospect, there is no reason not to relate our experience in a single review, since their treatment of us was uniformly and consistently superior.

The property is right in the middle of the city, an attractive modern building with a large and sheltered arrival portico, and capacious lobby floored and paneled in a pleasing tan shade of marble. Check in went smoothly and were in our room within minutes.

We ate dinner in the hotel and have reviewed our lunches and dinners there in a separate review of the Constantinople Restaurant, which is owned and operated by the hotel. Breakfast is served as well, buffet style in a separate room and was consistently superior in every way.

We have often said that one can at times learn more abut a business when some little snag comes along than by having no disappointments at all. Upon waking our first morning, we discovered that the in-room coffee service had little packets of everything but coffee. A call to the desk brought not one but two staffers to our door bearing coffee within ten minutes of our call. Pretty slick, in our view.

We have not the slightest negative report to make of our multiple stays and can commend the Divani Caravel to your attention and patronage without reservation.

The staff at this hotel were wonderful. We had a very stressful experience returning home to the US due to covid restrictions and visas and therefore had a few extra nights in Athens unplanned. The staff here were so understanding and helpful and did everything they could to reduce our stress by offering late checkouts and the ability to extend our stay if needed at the same rate and same room. They even printed off documents we needed and delivered them up to our room. We chose this hotel as it is close to the US embassy so it's not near Plaka but there are lots of cute little restaurants around and I even found the cutest little nail salon across the road
