It seeps with history.
The hotel is exquisite!! The service exceptional! Our room was
beautiful. We enjoyed the daily treats brought to our room. The bar/lounge was stunning with superb service. The friendly, night bartender made cocktails to order. The Breakfast Martini with Chopin Vodka is my new favorite drink (if only I knew how to make it ????). The front desk was efficient, helpful and friendly. It was truly a memorable stay.

Wonderful experience of Imperial royalty and hospitality.
Hotel Imperial is exclusive luxury hotel in Vienna with iconic grandiose exterior and interior. It is conveniently located in a prime location directly on the Ring.
Our room - a maisonette suite had splendid view of famous Karl’s church and Musikverein.
Staff is very hospitable and made sure that our stay was as comfortable as it could be.
The buffet breakfast is good but the spread is not comparable with the standard of the hotel. Breads were bit hard and lacked the expected freshness.
Overall a wonderful experience of royalty and hospitality.

Still our favorite
2.7,2.8.2019

Stayed here again for the umpteenth time and we really enjoy this hotel.

Is it old, yes. Does it need a remodel, yes

Despite all that the charm is there plus a great staff.

Hoping they remodel sooner than later with new FFE, LED lighting, new bathrooms and showers (rip the tubs and bidets out no one uses them anyway) put large showers with great water pressure in at the least....that will make guests very happy.

the Doctor Hit me with some BIG LOVE and a helpful VOTE!

2.8.19 the Doc! a Lifetime Platinum Elite with 1,000 room nights.

Outstanding!!!
The Hotel Imperial is one of the most magnificent palatial five star hotels in Europe.

As you enter this breathtakingly illustrious palace, you feel magically encapsulated in time.We were greeted by the most gracious staff one could ever dream to encounter.

From the lobby to the Royal Staircase, there is a synthesis of marble, statues, stunning crystal chandeliers. We stayed at the Elisabeth Suite, which is spacious with blue furnishings, very opulent. The complimentary Vienesse biscuits and the petit Imperial Torte were delicious.

We had the pleasure to lunch at the Imperial Cafe, which serves traditional viennese dishes, unarguably offers the best Wiener Schnitzel in the city. The staff at the Imperial Cafe were very agreeable and engaging. There is a sense of personalized service, also private butler service.Till next time.

Beautiful choice
We stayed at the Hotel Imperial over the new year celebration with a combination of regular room rate followed by an extension using points. Hotel Imperial gracefully extended our first reservation into the second one so that we didn't have to move rooms. In fact, they upgraded us to the Elizabeth Suite for the second part of our stay!

In hindsight, we actually preferred our original renovated smaller "deluxe" room but one doesn't disparage a gift! :)

The staff was most accommodating and helpful. The hotel is classic charm.

Cool Hotel, with a lot of history
Very beautiful property. The list of past guests is extremely impressive. There is elegance everywhere one looks, and we enjoyed our stay very much. Breakfast again was a non-experience, like all SPG hotels that we visited in Europe this trip. In fact, there was a marked difference in the Cafe between breakfast for the guests, and lunch and dinner for the wider world. Guests at breakfast felt a little bit tolerated, whilst the lunch and dinner were fabulous, with very good service.

We would stay here again, but it isn't on the list of favourites until they can up the game on being more welcoming to guests.

Perfection.
Our stay at Hotel Imperial was absolutely perfect. The hotel itself is so gorgeous, but especially at Christmas. Everyone- from the doorman, to the front desk, to housekeeping - were pleasant, professional and competent. The staff in the coffee house were great as well, either for breakfast or an afternoon coffee and torte. A few people however, were especially noteworthy. The concierges, Stefano and Manfred, were world class! Fun, welcoming, and well-connected, they were able to accommodate almost all of out last minute holiday requests. Our shining star of the week was our butler, Martina. "This used to be a palace" she informed us, and proceeded to treat us like royalty. The whole experience of Christmas in Vienna was over the top fabulous!!!

The Wiener schnitzel was THE BEST / MORE SO THAN HOTEL
We arrived and booked two rooms , group of four Adults . 2nd Jan-4 Jan 2019 .
The hotel looked grandmas we approached . The concierge were welcoming took our bags .
The hotel reception told us that they had upgraded the rooms , gosh we thought 1,600 pounds just for the room , we imagine a lovely big room .
On arrival to our room they were bit poky , nice interior classic ... however the windows over looked the staff quarters court yard , which needed Maintenance a drop of paint would have done the trick .
the other room much the same was only one window , looked out of place . Strange set up .
in the rooms for a welcoming gesture were three apples ,and 5 grapes , apples were soft and not very edible , there was dust on the plate .
To keep the review short beds were ok , nothing amazing .
Turn down , was a small chocolate ... again not nice ... weird texture and frosty chocolate outer , coupe bottles of Water . The apples remained same place second day gathering more dust .
We ate in the cafe Restaurant recommend by Rick stein , booked for four @ 8.80 pm .
staff were relaxed , atmosphere was good , spaced tables .
ordered The Schnitzel x 3 was Amazing .... tasty ... cooked perfectly , served with a salad , on the side was perfect , ordered the Wiener Gemischter Satz which was great ....
Wife ordered a gnocchi with Pumpkin , this dish was bland boring and think she wished she had ordered something else . Service was good pleasant , Happy faces which was nice to see . Gives the whole experience . The bill was 200.00 Euros , which we thought was reasonable and good price . Well done Rick ......... you were spot on .

Following day departure , exit hotel rules 12 .00 pm locked out of rooms ..Waited 15 minutes to get back in bit disappointing to be loitering in the corridors .

Magnificent Hotel! Perfect!
The Imperial is truly one of the greats of the world! This former palace has been so beautifully transformed (many decades ago) into a stunning hotel. The lobby is just gorgeous, with the lovely lounge right behind. Have the best torte in Vienna, The Imperial!
Halls are sumptuously decorated, with chandeliers everywhere. The suites are beyond gorgeous!! Incredibly roomy with extremely attractive, comfortable furniture. Bathrooms are very spacious, and the separate shower is wonderful.
Our butler, Martina, was SPECTACULAR!!!! She handled all of our needs perfectly, and her lovely, warm nature was a joy to work with. One of the best we have ever had the pleasure of meeting!
The coffee shop is one of the best in Vienna, with great service and a huge, delicious breakfast buffet. Throughout the day, the menu is representative of Viennese specialties and they are great! The staff there are terrific, and we looked so forward to seeing them every day. So accommodating and charming!!!
Reception staff is wonderful! Always welcoming, always addressing us by name, and so attentive. And the doormen and bell staff are also incredible here!
The concierges we befriended were amazing at making miracles happen! We were confirmed at the top restaurant in Vienna, which is impossible to get into! We also were provided with tickets for the Statsoper which were in the center boxes!
Manfred, you are amazing, and brilliant with your expertise for all things Vienna!! Thanks, too, to Stefano! Some of the top concierges we have ever had the pleasure to work with!
This stay over the Christmas holidays was for the record books! We will never forget the joy and luxury of The Imperial. A must for any traveler to Vienna!!! Many, many thanks!

A very special experience of a lifetime-Historical but not old
Overall, an amazing experience and I highly recommend staying here. We received phenomenal SPG Platinum Premier recognition. The hotel had so much history yet has been updated over the years to ensure there are very modern amenities while keeping the historical ambience of the hotel.

Booking: As an SPG/Marriott Platinum Premier member, we used the SPG application to book. We checked several times a day for availability on New Year’s Eve as it is a very popular hotel. We finally were able to book as availability came up.

As our stay approached, I submitted a SPG suite certificate and I contacted the hotel via the chat function on the SPG mobile application. They were very responsive and were working diligently on trying to get me a suite upgrade. They kept me informed each day which is very nice. Their responses were prompt and very courteous.

Check in: Our experience at check-in was very warm. To begin with, the door man was very kind and help us through the door with our luggage. The foyer/lobby was extravagant. I also loved the hallway with all the displays about the hotel’s history.

The gentleman who helped us at the front desk was a “trainee”. However, he was very confident and polite. He immediately addressed us as SPG Platinum Premier members. He apologized for not being able to fulfill our suite upgrade due to the New Year’s Eve holiday. We even received a little compensation as a result. We appreciated their efforts and the gift. We completely understood how booked they were on New Year’s Eve. The gentleman took our luggage upstairs and showed us our room. He was very pleasant and energetic.

Room: The room was historical yet modern. It had wonderful art, furniture, and fixtures. However, it had many outlets, modern televisions, modern phones, and an up to date bathroom. The bed and pillows were some of the most comfortable I have ever slept on. The fabric on the chairs was very clean and the room was very fresh. The bathroom had two sinks which was nice for getting ready. The shower had good water flow/temperature while the toiletries were fancy as well.

Special Touches: Shortly after our arrival, we received a delivery of fruit and champagne. The champagne was Laurent Perrier, which was an excellent champagne. We loved it as we recently made a trip to Reims, France and have been critical of every champagne we come across. Laurent Perrier is also one of Brian Kelley’s (“The Points Guy”) favorites as he posts about it on blogs and social media very often. Later on, we received a Luxury Collection-Hotel Imperial champagne bottle stopper which was great for the bottle and some chocolate for turn down service.

Breakfast: As SPG Platinum Premier members, we chose the “Champagne Breakfast” which was in Cafe Imperial. The food selection was relatively small but still good. The omelette and lox salmon hit the spot. The Laurent Perrier was the highlight.

Cafe Imperial: The cafe was very nice and had a warm ambience. We went there for afternoon tea as well as New Year’s Eve dinner. We were very relieved to get a table there early in the evening as we tried many other places. I called down from the hotel room and a table was held for us. The food was delicious. The service during New Year’s Eve dinner was a bit slow due to us being next to a couple larger parties. However, it was still good food. The desserts were outstanding.

Check out: Instead of using mobile check out, I decided to see the front desk. The receptionist was very kind and apologetic for not being able to upgrade us to a suite, which we absolutely understood was due to the NYE rush. I also asked her who was in the lobby while we were eating breakfast. She explained that the Austrian and Finnish presidents made an appearance which is a testament to the significance and status of the hotel.

Overall, it was a historical stay that I am very glad I chose for New Year’s Eve. I hope to return again and maybe arrive on a slower day so I can get one of the nice suites. I look forward to returning. I highly recommend this hotel for Vienna.

As a lifetime titanium Marriott Bonvoy member I have stayed at many outstanding properties around the world, Hotel Imperial, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Vienna stay was simply the best! I used Suite Night Award (SNA) to request an upgrade we were whisked away to a beautiful Elizabeth Suite that included a daily butler service and a free breakfast spread every morning. The staff truly goes above and beyond with every little detail. For example, we were celebrating our anniversary, and Anita, the front desk manager arranged for a beautiful dessert spread, champagne, and fresh roses to be placed in our room. The staff is also knowledgeable about COVID-related questions and concerns like where to get the test done, following extra safety protocols while COVID protests were going outside.

I was torn between two 5 star hotels in Vienna and so I decided to read reviews online to make a final decision. The reviews criticized the two five star hotels I was considering, but the same reviews kept praising the Imperial Hotel. I decided to opt for it and I am GLAD I did.
Excellent hotel by all standards. Very civilized place with 1st class service in everything. They were thoughtful, fast and precise in their service provision.
The hotel is beautiful and has a rich history , it was tidy, the food was excellent and everything was on point.
All the staff were amazing and they did their best which was more than enough especially Rafael the Concierge who planned all our trips to perfection, Attila our responsive and thoughtful point man at the reception and Claudia, the manager who made always made difficult requests happen without stress. Thank you all so much.
I recommended this hotel for being excellent in every sense.

MERAVIGLIOSO!!
No need to say much more. The hotel, the upgraded suite, the restaurants, the service, the food, and the people working there are FANTASTIC!!!! We stayed 5 nights, upgraded to a Maria Theresa King Suite with butler service (#225) and daily champagne breakfast. Front staff were great! The building shows its history in every detail: you can feel it walking around in the hotel, the columns, the ceilings, the marble floors, the chandeliers. It is perfection everywhere!! We were also lucky to go visit the Royal Suite: 450 sqm of imperial opulence!! By the way: they make the best schnitzel (veal) I have tried in Austria! AMAZING VACATION THANKS TO THE AMAZING STAFF.
A very special THANK YOU to Sindy M. at the front desk. You've made our stay there UNFORGETTABLE!! WE WILL BE BACK!

What makes Hotel Imperial even more special is the staff. Of course very friendly and correct, but the wow factor was in truly motivated and focussed on you as a custmer having a good time. They did this by showing they know your preferences very fast. A true luxury experience
I stayed at the Hotel Imperial in Vienna for 5 nights, together with my wife and baby.

We stayed in one of the gorgeous Elisabeth suites. You immediately are transported back in time but without sacrificing any comfort. You feel like royalty.
Service was excellent throughout our stay. Mrs. Marina gave us a nice welcome during check-in, while Mr. Slavik introduced us to the hotel's history and the amenities in our suite. Our butler Elias was very attentive and gave us great recommendations for eating out in the city.
The Cafe Imperial restaurant at the hotel is excellent. From Wiener Schnitzel to Apfelstrudel to the flagship Imperial Torte to Eggs Benedict at breakfast, the food is delicious. Mr. Hitner and Mrs. Brunner provided top notch service during breakfast, while Mr. Gruber did so at dinner time.
I strongly recommend staying at the Hotel Imperial if you are looking for a luxury experience in Vienna

Just about perfect.........
Fabulous hotel in a perfect location to explore Vienna. This is a historical hotel with much character and a special feel.
The hotel is located 1km from Belvedere palace and 2 minutes away from the opera house.
We stayed in a junior sweet on teh 3rd floor. Great room size, beutiful windows, huge bed and quality linen.
The staff were very friendly and professinal, made you feel welcome and special. The breakfast, as you would expect was very good.
The only slight negtives: the bar closes at 12:00 and you have to leave, this is probably an hour or two too early for residents plus the bathroom had no extractor fan so if you like a hot shower, it gets very steamy.
Will stay here agian when visiting Vienna, great place!
