Overall, I am not overly impressed with the Hilton Munich Park hotel. The room was nice and as a Diamond status holder we got an upgrade from a regular to an Executive room with park view. The floor-to-ceiling windows give the room plenty of light. You can still see how this is an old building and some of the interior has not been updated. The TV is ancient and the entire bathroom feels rather oldschool. Still, no big issues there, especially for the price. The caveats came from the breakfast buffet and the lounge: 1. Breakfast: I cannot share the sentiment of my fellow reviewers that the breakfast buffet is a great experience. I have stayed in hotels all over the world ranging from more simple to ultra luxury and the buffet in the Hilton Munich is not worthy of the brand name imo. You get all the basic food that you would expect from a continental breakfast buffet but the quality of each item was low and the selection just as. The fruit choice was between cut pineapple lying in its juices and a mixed and soggy fruit salad. I tried my luck with 4 different soft-boiled eggs just to find they were all hard-boiled by then. The service was underwhelming (*and here I am making allowances for Corona as I am assuming that the hotel is running low on staff and that was why the service was dismal*) and it took forever to get seated. Plates did not get cleaned away even once during our 3-night stay and we only got asked a single time if we want some coffee or tea. 2. The lounge had the same issue in regards to service. We once left the lounge at 8pm when service ceased and saw that not a single food plate had been cleared away from any of the tables. Furthermore, maybe due to Corona, the original lounge area was closed and moved to a makeshift area right next to the restaurant, using some of the restaurant as spillover space when there were more than ~15 guests. Definitely not a very cozy constellation. Lastly, you only received a single pre-defined little plate of food (e.g. 3 chicken wings; 2 buns with some spreading; a few slices of salmon with a potato Rösti) and had to order your drinks from a bartender that was heavily overwhelmed with so many people. Conclusion: I did like the room and the nice view and I think the location can be quite nice. However, as of now the service levels are not worthy of a Hilton hotel (even compared to the Frankfurt Hiltons city + airport that I went to some weeks earlier) and it did not help with my overall impression. Next time I might try some of the other objects the Hilton group has in Munich and might give this specific Hilton hotel another try once Corona is gone and the service might be up to par by then.
