Hotel Helmhaus

The hotel is very pleasant rather than luxury, but ideal for a business/City stay.  The rooms were clean and nice although overlooked from neighbouring buildings, so curtains needed to be kept closed.  Every member of staff that I met was extremely friendly and helpful, which is a real credit to them and to the hotel.

This is a small, charming hotel. Perfect location in the heart of the city. Wonderful, friendly and always very helpful personnel. Good breakfast. Hotel doesn't have its own restaurant, but there is a lot of dining options around.

We booked the family suite for a 3 night stay and everything was excellent. Unfortunately, my children became ill (no.... not covid) during our stay. However, the staff is top notch. They helped us find the closest doctor to be seen, checked in to make sure everyone was doing ok and went above and beyond with everything.  Staff always had smiles when we saw them, front desk staff booked reservations dinner, and I saw them juggle multiple guests (with many different personalities) at check in effortlessly. The hotel is clean, but small - as are most hotels in the area. Small is relative I suppose; I was traveling with my husband and 3 kids ages 3, 9 and 11.  Breakfast was great and everyone who helped on breakfast service was kind and extra attentive to each guest who was in the dining room.  Housekeeping always had a smile on their faces as well. The location was excellent, rooms were efficiently decorated/furnished, and very clean. Top to bottom, we had a great stay.

Hotel Helmhaus was the first hotel we stayed at during our trip to Switzerland and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We arrived in the evening after a long flight and the check in process was quick and easy. The gentleman who checked us in was kind and made us feel welcome. The hotel is centrally located, the main attractions and train station can easily be reached by foot. There is no doubt that we picked the right hotel for our stay in Zurich and I would easily recommend it to anyone and everyone.
