Exceptional hotel, even better staff.
Stayed here for 2 days with my girlfriend last weekend, the hotel is spectacular. Art is everywhere, the interior and decor was top class, room was big spotless and really cool. The best thing by far about the hotel is it's staff, from the moment you walk in your greeted at the door and offered lovely refreshments as you wait to check in. It was our first time in Amsterdam and by the time we left reception we knew all the places to visit as the kind staff showed us on a map. Bar staff to the cleaners, nicest people around, thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Luxurious modern hotel
Hotel is located directly at one of the canals in the town centre. Room was spacious, very nicely decorated and modern. Room service was fast and the food was delicious. If you have any spare time you can walk to the Anne Franklin museum, which is really worth a visit.

Beautifully designed and great location
Location was great right in the Canal Ring and within walking distance of the Anne Frank House and Van Gogh Museum/Rijksmuseum. The hotel was beautifully designed and clean, and the staff was friendly. Our room was ready early, which was great since we had just come in from the US on an overnight flight. They also offered complimentary bottled water, juice and snacks in the hotel minibar and at the front desk. The open-concept bathroom layout was a bit unusual, but we got used to it. There was also a walk-in closet that was super convenient for storing and organizing luggage. Overall, I'd definitely recommend

Bad service
Bad service at the check-in counter. No welcome words and no help when asked.Curtains don’t close so the room doesn’t gets dark in the night because of the lights outside. Poor breakfast for a five star hotel. Hotel design is lovely and inspiring

Very cool hotel in an excellent location
This place was great, what starts off looking like over the top extravagance is also surprisingly practical. Really, this place was designed for Instagram, which is fine, fortunately it wasn't populated with the superficial crowd. Our room was spacious and modern, although the bathroom was not for the faint of heart... kind of like a deconstructed bathroom, the toilet and shower each felt like they were in separate cupboards - the shower with a two-way mirror outwards. But it was fun and exceptionally located. Good fun.

Great place
Location perfect for exploring the city. Bike hire cheap with new bikes. Service was first class. Quirky decor makes it different to other 5 star hotels. Food very good. Beds super comfortable. Free soft drinks in mini bar. Lots of good reasons to stay here.Only slight negative is that restaurant is a bit soulless

Surprising and delightful stay in the heart of Amsterdam
I have been invited to business meetings at Andaz and this has been a wonderful surprise : a lot of attention to details from the staff and an incredible design across all areas of the hotel, including very design and comfortable rooms. The food is yummy from breakfast to dinner and every corner of the hotel deserves a visit ! And the business area is absolutely different from any sad cold business center in other hotels. And all of this in the heart of Amsterdam ! Fantastic

We stayed in this hotel for four nights before our river cruise in the beginning of December 2021, and had a great experience overall.

My husband is a Globalist, we booked for points and used the upgrade certificate to get a suite. The hotel promptly acknowledged that the suite was reserved for us at the time of the reservation - which was very helpful, as it not always the case :)

When we checked in it was mentioned that we had been upgraded to a bit bigger suite. But from what I see we weren't really as the suite we got was the standard suite we were supposed to get - Andaz Suite.

Nevertheless it was very nice to get big room with big bathroom for a 4 nights stay in Europe - where the hotels normally have smaller rooms.

The room was beautiful, and had everything you can possibly wish for, even the tea kettle.

The bathroom was big, with double sinks, beautiful bathtub and separate standup shower. The toilet was also in a separate little room with the door. I loved the wallpaper in the toilet area - with fun facts about Amsterdam! :))) The bed was very comfortable, and we were able to stream Netflix (or/and Amazon? I forgot) from our devices.

As the weather was kind of dreary, and everything was closing at 5 pm, it was so nice to get room service dinner (very tasty by the way), take nice relaxing bath with the bath salts (were provided) and then watch favorite show on the TV in bed.

There was total three TV's: the big ones in the living room and bedroom, and another small one in the bathroom hidden in the mirror.

We were having great breakfast in the restaurant downstairs every morning, had couple drinks in the bar downstairs too, and were getting room service for dinner every evening, as there was 5pm deadline for all the restaurants to close at the time. So the room service was a must, and it was so great that the hotel provided it!

All the meals were great, the service was overall amazing, and the front desk/concierge stuff was fabulous. We unfortunately needed a lot of help from them, as we were doing Covid tests every day to get a European QR code to get to the museums, restaurants etc (we weren't sure out US vaccination card would be accepted, so opted out for the daily tests). And the hotel was great helping us with that, as appeared to be we had to have a local cell phone to get the test results. Hotel provided us with the cell number, and was helping us every day to retrieve those results. Highly appreciate the help!

Thank you very much, Andaz! We had a great stay, and will certainly stay again next time in Amsterdam!

I stayed here for a few nights on a business trip. I liked the decor a lot from the ride up in the glass lift overlooking the lobby, to the attractive, semi-wild garden to the funky rooms. I had a room looking into the lobby and I think it would be much nicer to overlook the canal or the garden. Breakfast was lovely - I enjoyed that it wasn't a completely standard menu and there were some interesting options. The lobby bar is a nice place for a cocktail with a friendly and helpful barman. All of the staff were friendly and helpful.

The location is great - right near the Nine Streets which is great for shopping and short walking distance to most of the things you might want to visit in Amsterdam.

Overall a really good hotel and I would definitely stay again

We had the high expectations but ended up to be very disappointed about everything here. Around 50% chance I ran into very rude service, that far away from a five star hotel stands for. Example 1 , we were waiting for our table in the restaurant and they never told us the table was ready. Later the intern waiter came over and said “if you are not going to sit at that table. I’ll give it to other people!” ; Example 2, the cleaning service tried to come into the room in early morning at 8am; Example 3, the coffee machine in our room wasn’t working and we called the reception. That woman picked up the phone was basically yelling at me and said “I’m not engineer. I don’t know how to fix coffee machine!” (Later she explained to us in the email that she thought we were hotel employees. Even then, how could she possibly be so mean to her colleagues?
Other than this, the room is creative but feels like a cage for some reason. Even the tiny shampoo bottle was broken and they didn’t replace a new one during our stay. And the rooftop wasn’t open.
I gave two stars for nice decoration and food quality.

During the course of several months of dithering amid the covid crisis we had bookings at Pulitzer, the Hoxton and finally we arrived at the Andaz. And was it a good decision. We went and checked the former two and they were not as new as the Andaz. We got an excellent rate through our Corp perk site and therefore it made it much sweeter. I will admit my review will be a little less generous if I ended up paying twice what I paid for instance.
The room was spacious by european standards, the location is a peach, so close to lots of places most walkable, the tram two streets away and yet not on the more crowded avenues of the city.
The concierges could be more informative, though they tried to be helpful and were responsive. The rooms were well kept.
My only grouse, please put a towel hanger somewhere near the shower.

This was our first trip to Amsterdam and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we checked in, the level of service was top notch. We arrived very early but we only had to wait a few minutes to get a room. Hotel employees helped us retrieve our luggage from the car and took it up to our room for us. In the room, our two dogs were provided with beds, bowls, and food. The entire property is dog friendly so the dogs were even allowed to eat dinner with us in the hotel restaurant. Throughout our stay, every employee was kind and helpful and never became impatient when we asked a lot of questions. On the day that we checked out, they stored our luggage for us so that we could spend some more time in the city and then put the luggage in the car for us when we were ready to leave. We will only stay in this hotel when we return to Amsterdam. It's beautiful and in the perfect location. Highly recommend!

Our family was so pleased with the quality of service at the hotel that a 5* review would not be enough. The front desk host Leo went out of his way to make our visit to Amsterdam remarkable. All of the suggestions from the private boat canal cruise to walking routes and dinner reservations where absolutely perfection. We will definitely come to this hotel in the future and enjoy the hospitality.
