Tune Hotel

Checking into the hotel was a easy, pleasant process and the staff were very friendly and informative. We arrived in our room and were pleasantly surprised. It was a very good sized room considering the cheap price we had paid (£36 for one night), as well as a good sized en suite, which provided a refreshing shower. It also had two large windows, which let in lots of natural light. Other amenities included a TV, a desk and chair, a hairdryer and a large full length mirror. It is also in a brilliant location and is within walking distance to plenty of key sights/places to visit. However, the two main negatives for us were the uncomfortable bed (the mattress was very hard and lumpy) and the very thin walls. We were awoken during the night quite a few times from people walking past and talking quite loudly. Unfortunately, because of these two downsides, we didn't sleep very well at all. Overall, an average stay for us.

Perfect location and generally really nice historic but updated rooms. It wasn't loud and the beds were comfortable.
The man at reception was very nice and went above and beyond to help us. There was a stain here and there on the floor but it was clean. The shower wasn't great, but we had a shower for the disabled and we aren't disabled so the issue was more trying to get the chair out of the way and not getting water all over the floor. I recommend the hotel give instructions on how to lock the chair in an upright position so we don't have to hold it up for the whole time we shower. That's my only complaint. I really enjoyed my stay and check in was very easy.

Our stay at the Tune Hotel was fine. Just fine. For the pros: The staff was friendly and accommodating and the location cannot be beat. The cons: unfortunately, we will not stay here again due to the state of the hotel. While the location is fantastic, the rooms and hallways are dingy and in need of some updating. The rooms are not only dingy, but the paint was yellowing and peeling off the walls, there were holes in the hallway that were in need of repair, and you can hear everything happening in the hallways. While our room was “clean”, the general state of the hotel made it feel the opposite.

We only stayed here for a night as a stop. The location is brilliant as you are 5 minutes away from everything. Only issue was the room. It was small, when we entered first it was boiling hot because the heating had been left on and the air con didn't work amazingly.
