In the main very nice
We stayed for 2 nights 24th and 25th December reasonably priced and we were given a very nice room thanks to Maria on reception. We have stayed in other 5star hotels in Brussels and it has to be said this really isn't one of them. We liked our room 602 over looking montgomery roundabout and tram line. We weren't disturbed by traffic and the room was well equipped comfortable bed too. Breakfast was fine if a little basic. The two waiters worked very hard keeping everything stocked up. We were not happy at checkout to find we had been charged room service for some ordinary teabags we had instead of jasmine tea which was provided! Not acceptable at all and we refused to pay it. The receptionist on duty morning of 26th was a total misery! The position of the hotel was great to visit our family who live near by with good tram links but if you want a true 5 star would suggest sofitel hotel which truly is this hotel I have marked 4star but as it stands that is probably pushing it. There is work to do to make this a true 5star, although our room was very comfortable!

Five night stay
The Montgomery is first and foremost well located for business downtown, EU, as well as for the Woluwe St. Pierre, Woluwe St. Lambert and Etterbeek districts of Brussels. Good public transport connections (Metro, tram, bus). This was ideal for our private business stay, so the main reason we chose this hotel. We reserved a room on the top floor and at the rear of the building. The front of the hotel is exposed to the heavy traffic around the Montgomery circle and to the squealing of trams. The general feel of the hotel is faux olde worlde, but looks simply old, albeit comfortable enough. Room size was good and contained what we needed but had very dim lighting and a faulty air conditioner. Bathroom was small and with a tub shower. Breakfast buffet is minimalistic, but has what you need for a quick start to the day. In summary, the Montgomery should be classified as a 4 star. Neither the quality or aspect of the furnishings nor the layout or amenities of the bathroom are at modern five star level.

Convenient, but no 5 stars
Convenient hotel with relation to various aspects: location, parking garage, good breakfast. Clean sheets and room. However very old, although it’s clean, some things need replacing (toilet seat in room 102 /m - clean but yellowed). Cheap shower & douche gel. Lighting system in room utterly confusing. Quiet room, good bed, but why hell 2 small blankets on a double bed?! Surely not 5 stars anymore. Parking 15€ a day, slight let down that they charged me day 1 as well even though I arrived at 9pm. Would come back on business, but definately not for leisure on my own bill.

OK, but not a luxury 5* hotel
There is nothing too wrong with this hotel, but is very definitely not a 5* hotel. The room is comfortable and a very good size, much larger than most in Brussels. However the furnishings are dated and generally worn. The sofa in my room was in very poor condition. The bathroom is OK, but again very old style. I was part of a group who all arrived and wanted to check out at the same time, so both processes were expected to be slow. However there was only one member of staff at reception for both check-in and check-out so both took a very long time.

The bar area was strange, more like an area of the restaurant. Breakfast was OK, but not much choice.

Good choice if you need to be in the Monmtgomery area for business as there are not so many hotels around there.

The wifi is free, good and reliable.

Most definitely NOT a 5-star hotel
Apologies in advance for the long review, but potential guests need to know what they are coming to! First impressions can be deceiving, and this was certainly the case with our 2 night stay here recently. It looks fantastic on the outside, the reception area is all glitzy and shiny, and there’s water, fresh fruit, jellies and marshmallows for guests on a table nearby. Our room, on the 3rd floor, was to the back of the building, but that suited us as we weren’t facing out onto the busy road. The room itself was beautiful, with a big double bed, a large television on a wall bracket that could be angled whatever way you wanted, a working desk, and a sofa, coffee table and easy chair at the end of the room. A mini-bar is supplied, but beware of the prices – there was a small tube of Pringles and nuts left out on the cabinet surface. It would appear they were there for the taking, but they weren’t. I had a look at the price list and couldn’t believe they were charging €8 for a small tube of Pringles – absolutely outrageous. I didn’t bother at that stage to check the price of the nuts. There would be instant trouble here if young kids were staying as they would immediately open them. It really is a bit sneaky of the Montgomery to do this! Our room had two very big windows with patio doors that opened inwards for fresh air (rather dangerous as the only protection against falling down three floors were three narrow horizontal bars). The windows had light net curtains but the heavy curtains only reached part way across the net curtains, so you never had complete privacy. The lights in our room were a terrible nuisance and were far too complicated to operate. There are too many switches trying to do too many things and none of them worked properly. We spent quite some time trying initially to get the lights on in the room, and then getting them to switch off was another epic journey. What on earth is wrong with good old-fashioned switches that turn one light on and off, instead of a collection of useless nonsense that you have to employ guesswork to use?? There was a hospitality try with tea bags only – no coffee. The kettle had to be boiled on the floor because the flex wasn’t long enough; this was absolutely ridiculous and dangerous in equal measure. The bathroom was very spacious and clean, with plenty of towels, but only two tubes of shower gel – no shampoo? We had a good sleep, but found it very puzzling that a double bed would have two single duvets on it – we would love to know the reason for that. We breakfasted in the hotel the first day, and there was plenty to suit all tastes. They even had Bucks Fizz if you wanted to try it. On returning to our room later in the evening, we mentioned the lack of coffee on the hospitality tray and were told we could order coffee via room service if we wished. We asked about this at the front desk and were told that we could order coffee if we wanted to via room service. They really must be kidding – no coffee on a hospitality try in a supposed 5-star hotel in Europe?? When we got to the room, it definitely had been cleaned, but we were left with only 1 bath towel (for two adults), no more shower gel, and the glass screen on the shower was not cleaned by household staff – it was covered in water marks from our showers that morning. The shower was quite powerful, and it drenched the shower screen and the floor. The sofa in the room had a broken leg, and we had intended reporting it to the front desk in case they thought we had damaged it, but then we read a review on TripAdvisor which mentioned the same broken leg in the same room (308) on 6th May 2016, so we didn’t bother. This really is not acceptable, and we felt there was a ‘take it or leave it’ attitude with staff. This hotel is vastly overpriced and staff seem to be trained to ignore issues that guests raise. Not good enough and we won’t be staying again.

Disappointing
Certainly not a 5star quality and very overpriced. The rooms are spacious and clean but need updating and are very dark if you needed to work. Roadside rooms very noisy because of trams and traffic. Breakfasts were limited and don’t come down later than 9.00am as there won’t be anything left! Tea and coffee facility in room but had to ask for tea and coffee sachets.
Make sure you check your bill when you checkout.
On the plus side the location is good and minutes from trams and bus.

Nice hotel, appalling resturant
Checked in for a night and decided to eat in restaurant.

Ordered a soup and Caesar salad. Soup was lovely, but only a mouthful, nouvelle cuisine, or they did not make enough.

Asked for Caesar salad with no Pork (bacon). got salad with no cheese, wilted lettuce and Parma ham shavings in the bottom of the bowl cunningly hidden below the lettuce. When I asked the waiter why there was pork in the dish he came back from the chef and said it ws not pork, it was Parma Ham. No apology, no manager out to say sorry. God thing it is a personal preference and not a serious allergy.

Tried to complain when I checked but felt I was visiting Fawlty towers with an exchange that went something like this:

How was you stay?

Room nice but restaurant not very good.

So, no problems then, all OK?

Actually no, restaurant fed me food I should not eat?

Ah yes, glad you enjoyed your stay, thank you for your custom.

Top Tip, do not eat in this restaurant if you have any food allergies as they may well accidently poison you.

Average hotel, excellent staff
The hotel advertises itself as a 5 star hotel. That is definitely not the case, it's a 3 star hotel in terms of decor, facilities, cleanliness etc. The decor is old, it feels like visiting your grand parents. Which does not have to be a bad thing, but it's not a modern type of place. Apart from the main reception, the other corridors have dust in the corners, and this applies to the rooms also. Some sockets work, or cut out only to come back later. Run the taps for a couple of minutes as brown water came out when I wanted to brush my teeth. Beds are comfortable, but ask for a double duvet in advance as they use singles. I booked here so I could get work easily. Would I book again? No, I'll look for a different hotel with better facilities.

Note about the front office staff: they are very good and very service oriented. They really go out of their way to sort out your requests.

Superb value at weekends
This is probably the best value hotel I have stayed at in Brussels. The hotel describes itself as 5* and you can see why, large rooms, well decorated, good service etc. On the inside of the room it said the room costs €360 per night but I only paid €75 for one night. The reason for the dramatic fall in price is that I stayed on a Sunday night. This hotel is on the outskirts of the Eurodistrict so I expect lots of people who come to the European Commission on business stay here during the week.
Why did I give it 4 rather than five stars? Three reasons:
1.    The room was cold and the heating in the room was not working. Even at the highest setting there was no warm air coming out of the heating system
2.    I had a room overlooking the roundabout which is very busy so there was a lot of traffic noise
3.    There is a kettle in the room but they only provide 3 individual bags of Jasmine Tea and sugar. There is no standard tea, no coffee and no milk
Would I stay here again? Certainly at weekends. During the week I would try and find a better value room.

Nice hotel, good location
The hotel was very good. The price was quite high when I stayed, although it seemed OK for the area. Check in was quick, the room was a good size with desk, sofa / coffee table, TV and bookcase - as well as the good sized double bed. The decorations in the room were a little tired with the dark wall paper being scraped in places, but perfectly liavable with! The room was a little dark at night with only lamps around the edges of the room. Also at least some of the power sockets turn off with the light switch so check this if charging devices over night!
The breakfast buffet was good, with enough variety.
The location was very handy, right next to the Montgomery Metro station, so about 30 mins from Gare du Midi, 10 mins from Bluepoint conference centre (or 25 minute walk), about 20 mins to EC offices around Beaulieu.
There are some shops and restaurants nearby in Ave. Georges Henri and Rue des Tongres as well as a hand convenience store inside the Metro station.

Spent only one night here. It was however a good one. While the building from the outside is pretty unspectacular from the outside, inside it looks like a countryside manor: the furniture, the wallpapers, the (fake) fireplace in the lobby etc. I liked it in reality much better than just based on the pictures when making the booking. Check-in was easy and uncomplicated. The room (I did not book special one and I did not upgrade either) was astonishingly large and well equipped. Liked the fact that there was an iron inside so did not have to ask for it at the reception. Breakfast could offer more variety, that was just rather average

Klassiek hotel, en was een prima verblijf, maar kan op sommige aspecten wel wat aandacht gebruiken.

We verbleven met onze peuter. Aan de voorkant van het hotel.

+ prettig bed, zeer grote kamer, schone kamer, vriendelijke receptie,

Great place for business travel. Hotel has a small parking hall, so convenient to come with a car and use public transport to get to City Centre. Metro is right next to the hotel.
Hotel had an excellent customer service!
Breakfast had good variety of things.

I think this one used to be great, but now it's a bit shabby. I've seen bruised furniture, issues in the ceiling ornaments, broken window locks, waving hot water. Also, the breakfast was no buffet, you had to enlist the previous day for a breakfast the next morning. Price was high, but wonder if worth it.

Extremely comfortable hotel. Access from metro is very useful and is within very easy walking distance. The lobby was extremely well decorated and well lit and the dining area was comfortable. Breakfast provides a wide variety of options, all of which are very tasty. The rooms themselves are very neat and tidy and spacious, and plenty of items are gifted to the occupants, such as shampoos and hair combs.

I stayed at this hotel a business trip. Location is amazing, a bit away from touristic city centre but surrounded by several cafes, bars, super markets and restaurants. Very well connected to public transport. There is a huge park close to the hotel with lovely fountains. The rooms in the hotel are clean but slightly old. The walls are painted in dark color and rooms are simply lit. There is lot of Natural light in day time but during evenings if I had to work, there was lot of strain on my eyes. The lamps are not sufficient to brightly light up the room. Bathroom was clean. Air conditioning is a bit noisy. Equipments in the gym are really old and not very well maintained. There is also a big sauna which I didn’t use. Overall a good place to say but I wouldn’t call it a 5 star property.
