A tad arrogant
Lovely hotel in a B location with great rooms. Bar is pretentious and slow to get a drink. Breakfast was cold poached eggs with warm hollandaise which means eggs are precooked! Bar in lobby was slow on service. Again, room was lovely but management needs to tighten up on service! Resting on laurels!

Spent 2 days there in December
The hotel is superb in every way. The rooms were spacious, clean and cosy. The ambience of the hotel is warm and friendly. The staff are there ready to help at every juncture of our stay. Breakfast will superb as well, they offer the buffet along with a menu to choose a cooked option which is prepared as you like it. The location is perfect just in front of the canal and around the hotel the streets surrounding it are lovely. We also used the hotel's own boat for a tour of Amsterdam

Wonderful hotel with exceptional delightful staff!
Located on the popular 9 streets; along one of the canals, this stunning hotel is walking distance from everything and offers the sort of accommodation and service one would expect for a hotel in this price bracket.
Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, bed extremely comfortable and shower superb. We doned in the hotels restaurant, ordered room service and used their concierge service - all of which were excellent experiences.
Wonderful hotel and well worthy of its good reputation

So good we didn't want to leave
Truly 5*, but in a very Dutch "We like nice things and good service, but nothing over the top, please," sort of way. Our room was so cozy and pretty with a perfect view, having upgraded to canal-view. The Pause casual dining area was always buzzing and the food was great; the bar is so warm and comfortable that you never want to leave. We truly can't fault anything and we will be back!!

I stayed at the W Amsterdam last year and was very disappointed. The W was geared towards 20 year olds. On that same visit we stopped at the Pulitzer for cocktails and enjoyed the vibe. It reeked of class and history.

So this visit we were sure to book the Pulitzer and it was superb.

We had the King room with canal view. We had room 301 which has a larger window that is almost floor to ceiling. The other couple we were with had 411, which is canal view with smaller windows, but still nice views.

All of our interactions with the staff were awesome. Everyone in each department was always attentive and looking to make you happy. Bar, housekeeping, front desk, restaurant. All top quality. Breakfast was included and was very good buffet style for the cold items and you can order whatever and as many menu items you want.

Location is great with plenty of boutique shops in the area and every great spot is not more than 15 minute walk in any direction.

Definitely will be staying here next trip. Keep up the good work.

Great service and fantastic location
We spent 2 nights at this wonderful hotel. The employees are very friendly and offer great service. They specially decorated our room for my birthday and treated us with a nice birthday present. We love this hotel and will definitely come back

The Pulitzer Amsterdam is one of the most beautiful hotels we have ever been! It feels like coming home even though it is a hotel with over 200 rooms. We really enjoyed our time in Amsterdam and especially because of the concierge Ron. If you are looking for anything in Amsterdam the concierge Ron is your guy! We felt like kings in Amsterdam :).

Pulitzer Amsterdam provided us the finest service we’ve ever experienced from front door, reception, concierge, housekeeping to breakfast. Overlooking the Prince Canal, a 5 minute walk to Anne Frank House, it central location is optimum for experiencing all that Amsterdam has to offer. Make sure to book the “Tourist” for an unforgettable experience seeing the city by canal boat.

Stayed for one night in a canal front upgraded room. Beautiful room, great bathroom with awesome shower pressure. Absolutely lovely hotel in every aspect. Really loved the location and I've stayed many times in Amsterdam. You feel like you are part of the neighborhood. Walkable to many bars restuarants but off the main artery enough so that it's quieter. Staff was wonderful and super helpful. We were there during the 5pm lockdown period (December 2021) and were sad to learn that even as hotel guests the bar/restaurant closed at 17:00. We inaccurately assumed that as hotel guests with 3G and a negative PCR that we could eat in the hotel past curfew - but we couldn't. Thankfully the hotel still had room service. We were jet-lagged anyway so it wasn't a crisis but sad to miss a fun evening in Amsterdam - such a fun city

While I didn't stay at this hotel on this trip,  I was just passing by. I noticed how beautiful the lobby was from looking through the glass!  I was taking pictures outside and an employee came out & invited us inside to look around and take better pictures. The art & furniture is gorgeous! He also gave us a map of Amsterdam. This is what I call going above and beyond your duties in customer service! This hotel over looks the canal. It is beautiful!

Not happy with our generous canal view room. The room is rather cluttered and stuffed with random furniture. It does not feel like the advertised 30sqm. No heating in the bathroom. Also some kids seemed to have had a party in front of our window.
Update: the hotel confirmed that the room was actually smaller and tried to fix it. On the third day we had turn down the first time.

Stayed here in March of 2011. In 2011 the hotel was under a massive renovation. They do have an on-site restaurant, this is the hotel that was filmed in Ocean’s 12, right down the street from the Anne Frank house and most restaurants or coffee shops do not open until late in the morning.

There's no other way to put it: the Pulitzer is simply an exceptional hotel experience. When last-minute corona guidelines forced us to scrap our original wedding plans, the Pulitzer really rallied to the occasion and made our wedding everything we could have hoped for - and more. We'd booked a lovely family suite, enjoyed a romantic boat tour on the Tourist (really, a must!) and had a wonderful dinner at Jansz. Pulitzer, it must be so boring to receive yet another 5-star review. But what can I say? You've earned every bit of it. We've already decided we'll be back at the Pulitzer Bar to celebrate our first anniversary next year. Can't wait to return!
