Just had a very wonderful and relaxing stay in Maison Souquet. We preferred staying inside enjoying the hotels unique decor and friendly atmosphere, so there were not much sight seeing this time in Paris! Spa enjoyable, wonderful massage treatment. Attentive staff. Charming and personable. Definitely recommended!

I can do nothing but heap praise on this hotel. The rooms are beautiful and spot on for a couple in the throws of love. The special touches throughout the hotel surprises and delights at every turn. The bar is stunning in its decor and the overall vibe. The Salon de Eu was just the perfect touch after a long day in the room or heading out to eat.

The people that work there (calling them 'staff' would be an insult) are world class. Twan, Leaticia, Pierre, were integral in helping me pull off a simply perfect wedding proposal from flowers to photographers, to restaurants and club access.

When we were departing, everyone was there to say good bye and even gave us a luxurious coffee table book about French prostitutes from the 19th century with thoughtful notes from everyone there on the inside cover. Wow! I am not kidding.....

The Four Seasons doesn't hold a candle to this absolutely flawless gem. Its our new Parisian home away from home.

Fantastic stay in Bel Epoque sophistication
Magical.....is what best, and at the same time barely, captures this truly unique experience of calling Maison Souquet our home for a few days. The assurance of a memorable stay in a one of a kind five star piece of heaven, only a stone's throw away from the Moulin Rouge, it just seemed far fetched and at risk of being an overstatement. This because my memory of Pigalle didn't quite remind me of the most exquisite and chic part of Paris. Luckily my fortune is that I follow blogger Messy Nessy Chic, who happened to describe Maison Souquet as the "perfect place for an international spy to wind down in his tuxedo at the end of a long day". This former Bel Epoque brothel takes you back in time. Welcomed by the red lanterns outside the front door, you enter a cosy lounge with velvet furniture in a wonderfully over the top decor. The sumptuous bar with smashing bartenders is indeed that place where you order your 'Martini, shaken not stirred'. The room is exquisite with a very comfortable bed and again a beautiful unique decor, which I got to select before arrival from the available rooms. The daily private use of the spa, sealed the deal, there is no other place I ever want to stay again in Paris. To quote Messy Nessy Chic, this boutique hotel has "a whole lot of sophisticated sex appeal".

Best Boutique Hotel Experience
From the interior decor, the experience at the bar, the well appointed room with all amenities, comfy bed, the attentive & kindness of the staff everything was amazing. We stayed in August for 02 nights(24.08 until 26.08). On my first night, I’d a problem with my room but the staff addressed my concern in a very professional manner and was moved to a better room. The hotel is well located and very close proximity to Moulin Rouge. Would stay again and recommend. Thanks Parvez

Cool, small, chic former house of pleasure turned into one of the most unique hotels around.  The lounge and bar area are mesmerizing, really takes you back in time.  The rooms are small but very well appointed and comfortable.  The service was top notch and very happy to help.  We didn’t get a chance to use the spa but will have to on our next visit.

This place is amazing. The service and staff were super nice. The breakfast was great and the bar was nice. They have a pool for private use. They also kept the rooms super clean and well stocked. I liked the location because it was close to bus stops and the metro line. Wish it was closer on walking distance but that's because I'm lazy. Highly highly recommend!

I wish we could have stayed longer. Just a few minutes' walk from the Moulin Rouge, this hotel has an excellent location. The receptionist's welcoming us was very friendly and polite. The decor of the hotel and our room where we stayed for 2 nights was very relaxing and of high quality. The private spa is simply perfect. You should definitely try the cocktail bar.

We stayed here for our Honeymoon for 5 nights. It is the most romantic place!
The staff were attentive, kind, and went above and beyond for us.
I think the selection for breakfast could be improved; however, the hotel is small, so it is not too bad.
Would definitely recommend staying here!

Description

Location
In fashionable SoPi (South Pigalle), at the foot of Montmartre, in northern Paris. This is both the fabled Paris of old-timer cabarets and peep shows, and an edgy part of modern Paris packed with new-generation cocktail bars and constantly evolving on-trend dining. The Moulin Rouge and shop-lined rue Lepic, which climbs up to Abbesses and Montmartre hill, are at the end of the street. Blanche metro station (line 2) is a two-minute walk and transport hub Gare Saint-Lazare is 10 minutes' south on foot.

Spirit of the mansion
Only those in the know will experience the luxury of Maison Souquet, hidden behind an understated facade signaled by two red lanterns. The bawdy, wanton legend of the City of Light was forged in the area around Montmartre, a legend of which the Maison Souquet now forms part.
In a building that served as a pleasure house during the Belle Époque, one of the most lavish and licentious pages in the history of Paris has been brought to life. Jacques Garcia has applied his talent to recreating the mystery, elegance, exoticism, sensuality, and ostentatious luxury of these establishments with their own architectural mores.
Carried away from the city on the whimsy of the decor, the mind is free to pursue pleasure amid a fantasy setting conjured through artwork, sofas, causeuses, and divans. Perfectly at home, guests see their room open out onto a plush setting where life revolves around the ritual of tea-time, play, and rendezvous before and after dinner.
A temple to hedonism, the Maison Souquet is home to 20 rooms, including six suites with unique interiors

Interior design
Bold, lavish, and of eminently good taste, Jacques Garcia has an inimitable style. The renowned French interior designer is by far the most gifted in creating atmospheres of unmatched elegance, a blend of genres born of his intuition and his passion for precious materials, rare objects, and the stories they tell.
His unrestrained thinking grants him the freedom to design a hotel inspired by houses of carnal pleasure at the same time as designing spaces in the Louvre dedicated to 18th century French furniture, or even refurbishing the royal apartments in the Palace of Versailles.
With the Maison Souquet, he has created an unaffected combination of Arabian style and Napoleon III plush in an eclectic collection of furniture, artwork, and paintings whose authenticity infuses the spirit of the place, magical and enchanting.

Value for money
Double rooms from €340 (£302). Breakfast is €22-€36 (£19.50-£32). Free Wi-Fi.
