One of Europes best hotels
We arrived at 8am, just off a flight from Sydney with slight stop over in Dubai for two hours. We presented ourselves to the concierge who were sympathetic that we had just flown all the way from Australia and that check in was not until 3pm. The Concierge invited us to a complimentary breakfast in the restaurant while a room could be found for us to check in early. The room itself was charming, with a sumptuous bed and a four clawed bath overlooking the courtyard.

Awesome hotel and restaurant
My wife and I just stayed here and had a a great time. The hotel is charming and very trendy. The staff was great, especially Tom who helped us with some bookings in town. Bar and restaurant are a must, cool vibe and great food. The pancakes were outstanding! Thank you for a great visit.

What a great place!
Fabulous surroundings with a very cool vibe. All the original features of the Firehouse are tastefully incorporated in the decor giving it a comfortable traditional feel.
Staff uniforms (well the girls at least) are reminiscent of a Handmaids Tale, but they were efficient and friendly.

The dining room is busy and a little noisy, but watching the food being prepared in the open kitchen let’s you know what to expect.

Lovely menu- highlights for me were the Grilled Romanesco Cauliflower (absolutely outstanding) and the Lobster Roll (quite delicious). The oysters from the cart were fresh and delicious ( so I’m told - I wasn’t brave enough).

Great service - nothing was too much trouble and to top it off we were given a guided tour of the building.

A truly lovely experience

Disappointed
This is a lovely designed hotel even though the location and food was never the best. I think the staff is in need of some customer service training. I stayed there myself and had a good time, however its such a downer going back and meeting the same woman that was on reception when we stayed and understanding she was actually just being fake the whole time. Put me off staying unfortunately and would not recommend it to my friends anymore. There are so many great places, like the Blakes and Edition that ticks all the boxes and even have good food.

Just AMAZING
This is by far the best hotel in London. Staff is Amazing, food is just SOOOO good and the rooms are excellent! The bed linnen makes you want to stay in the room for ever! It's an experience of a lifetime! The attention to details (in the rooms, restaurant, bar and the staff) is just out of this world!
Not a place for kids though

We stayed in a Ladderhouse suite, Jan 21-28 2020.
It was perfectly lovely. The hotel vibe is very reminiscent of Chateau Marmont in Hollywood ( another favourite hotel of ours) - which is understandable as they have the same owner.
The all important ambiance and decor: Just lovely. Lots of 1930's elegance and creature comforts in the suite. Gorgeous bathroom , and a little sitting area and a fireplace next to the bedroom area .
The conversion of the old Firehouse is gorgeous- and the building itself is wonderful. Full on Victorian red brick glory.
It's in a nice area of London, good shopping in Marylebone, and the Wallace Collection nearby is very worth a visit.
The hotel staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. We dined at the restaurant twice during our stay- once alone, and the second time we were joined by a friend.
Both meals were utterly delicious.
( we had dined there a few years ago, right when it first opened, and it was really good then too. If they ask you to leave by the back after dinner, it's not a personal insult; there's a noise ordinance on Chiltern Street, and they have to quietly let diners out on the back side of the building for late night departures. I read a review of the restaurant by a diner who was very offended by this ?)
The bar was heaving every single night of the week, hard to get a seat, but the cocktails are amazing, and the vibe is super fun.
The Ladderhouse suites are directly above reception and the bar, we were never bothered by noise. One time we came home to find our room smelling quite strongly of cigarette smoke. When we notified the staff, they made a very decent effort to investigate and clear the smell from the room.
Overall, a lovely stay, highly recommended!

Enjoyed a late lunch at the Chiltern firehouse
Not cheap but very enjoyable and was much better than expected
Great seating area out side with out door heating
I would suggested this is for special occasions only
Really enjoyed the meal and the staff were very attentive

1 of my favourite restaurants in the area & in London. Great cocktails & always solid food - our favourite server's named Ollie who made our dining experience outside a ton of fun.
Also, the chicken dish is incredible.
Dining inside is cozy & warm; in good weather, their outdoor area is vibrant & buzzing.
Definitely recommend recommendations.

Bad bad service. Our waitress disappeared after we got our coffees, waited 30 minutes for someone else to come take our order even though the courtyard was nearly empty. The waiter then forgot half our order (we ordered two plates and a side..) every time we come, service is terrible. We come back because food is delicious and the location is great. I will reconsider paying the 15% service charge next time however.

The location is wonderful, the welcoming completely professional!!
The table beside the column, is very uncomfortable and oblige me to took a seat on the sofa beside my partner.
Lorenzo took care of us properly and was always present! Very attentive, very smiling!
We order different type of oysters; a lady brought them us with no explanation, about the origin and about the sauce that came together in the plate.
A big lack of professionally in a high standard restaurant.
To summarize, I will probably not suggest this restaurant to other people.

Thoroughly enjoyed the experience which was vibrant and fast paced. Which whilst being it’s strength, is also it’s downfall as it meant it didn’t feel quite so special to the diner. Just based on the food, I think it was a tad overpriced but the experience was worth it.
