Hotel Mondego

Perfect experience. The staff was very available and very helpful, even with non-hotel related questions. We were able to drop off our luggage before check-in which was convenient. The room was quite big (very big bed as well!) and everything was very clean. We went for a drink after dinner on the rooftop which was truly amazing with a beautiful view on the University. Breakfast had a lot of options and everything was good and fresh. Location of the hotel is perfect (right next to the train station and in the city center) 10/10 I wish we had been in Coimbra for more than a night!

Just had an overnight stay here. Excellent location right next to the train station and looked to be brand new or renovated facilities with strict Covid protocols. Beds and sheets were super comfortable too. Friendly and competent staff especially Tatiana in the front. Good quality breakfast also. Coimbra is a really nice town worth visiting for sure and staying at the Hotel Mondego was the right choice for us. Two thumbs up.

Came to meet up with family who live in Portugal, staying 2 nights. Beautiful hotel & welcome from reception staff on arrival. Room was very clean & bright, but only camomile tea [yuk] in the room with a kettle. Please put in instant coffee sachets to use! The River bar, run by Gustav & helped by Daniela, was really lovely with fabulous views of Coimbra. We had great g&t's and lovely conversations with Gustav who was happy to help us with our Portuguese! Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

I had the pleasure of spending three nights in late February - early March. Everything was excellent and worth every single cent. The hotel is spotlessly clean, very functional with a very cute terrace bar and at an extremely convenient location. The room was sizeable and very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent with high quality produce. However, the biggest asset of the hotel is the personnel. Always there with a (real) smile, ready to help or just have a chat about the town. I highly recommend Mondego and I really hope to visit again soon.
