City Hostel Bergen AS

Highly recommended!
We stayed there for two days and our experience has been great.
+ The staffs are so friendly and always smiling. Very helpful when you need help.
+ It is located right at the sentrum. A perfect location.
+ Rooms with views. It is on the 4th floor so you get to see the cuty and the mountains from your rooms.
+ Afoordable
- The room heaters can be better but it is not bad

A good stay. Certainly expensive for what it is - but otherwise happy. High points were the cleanliness of the hostel - bathrooms and kitchens were well maintained throughout our stay. Plenty of bathrooms and showers too. We stayed in a shared room - nothing special but it had nice views, clean sheets and even a desk to get some work done. Would be nice to have some curtains on the bed for privacy - but otherwise decent. Kitchen is small but there is a large dining area and the utensils are excellent. Can't comment much on service as I rarely saw staff - reception is open for a short time. Everyone gets their own room key which was very handy for when we would split up - also was very secure to get into it. Would recommend if you're staying in Bergen.

I am really disappointed. The good localisation is the only advantage. My room was stinky, there was only small window above my head, and all night noise from ventilation shaft. The bathroom was dirty. The beds uncomfortable and it was looks like a prison. Really don't recommend.

We were lucky and we got a room with its own bathroom, with very good views and very sunny, the bad thing is that the towels have to be paid for separately and the reception people leave at noon, be careful if you want to shower and not you bring a towel, ask for it before they leave, for what the room is worth they could already include a towel.
