Most comfortable place with the best patisserie
We had been to vienna for the fisrt time in Oct 2018, we really enjoyed our place , I think the hotel had a really strategic place, there were metero station and bus station just a few minute walk far from the hotel, we had four bottle of wine free of charge everyday the design and decoration was really elegant and nice. They had one the best patisserie in the city. The staff behave friendly and they were very responsible. We really liked our room.

Amazing Location
Let's start with the basics:
Location is perfect. You really can't ask for a better spot.
Cleanliness: Perfect
Breakfast: Excellent.

Overall, we really liked the hotel. The staff are very attentive and are happy to meet any request. They really seem extremely nice.

The room was very nice, with a large bed, couch, coffee table, coffee maker, fridge, safe, etc. An additional item I was not aware of until we arrived was the following, which is an incredibly nice touch: Complimentary each day: 2 bottles of Red and 2 bottles of white wine. Who does that? We didn't take advantage of it, but that is a nice offering. They also had water and soft drinks in the fridge free of charge. They had some things in the minibar that cost, but he point those out. It was not an issue.

We were in a Superior Courtyard room on the second floor which was very quite and great for sleeping. The Deluxe room looks a bit bigger and maybe worth the extra money. All in all the hotel provided really great value in Vienna and was a very nice place to stay. I'd stay there again if we visited Vienna.

No need to look further in Vienna
Great location across the road from the opera house and the Albertina. All the major central attractions are within easy walking distance. Nicely appointed room with a great coffee machine and also provisioned daily with 4 free bottles of wine. The hotel is happy for you to take these to dinner in the restaurant if you wish. Food was good both at dinner and breakfast. Also good for a snack with a glass of wine or coffee. This is a popular location with non-guests so as other reviewers have suggested I’d reserve daily for breakfast. Staff were incredibly helpful and the bottom line is that I’d stay here on any future Vienna trip.

Very Nice hotel in Great Location
The Guesthouse hotel is a lovely and cozy. Rooms are nicely and modern decorated. Very clean and well attended. Reception and concierge service were kind, effective and really forthcoming. The brasserie for breakfast, coffee and meals is very nice and good. Coffee there is great.
And the highlight – Great location! Just next to the Albertina museum (superb museum), the Vienna Stads Opera, near the Hofburg Imperial palace, Kuerntner St. and shopping places, other museums and great konditorie & coffee places (a must in Vienna!!).
Great place to spend a city vacation in Europe!

Excellent Choice
What can I say that hasn't already been said? The Guesthouse is a little gem in the heart of Vienna. I had originally reserved rooms at The Hotel Bristol and The Hotel Imperial and had a change of heart after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor and I am so glad I did.

We were in Vienna for the Christmas markets and the hotel location was perfect allowing ease of access to every where. I can honestly say what a absolutely delight the hotel is. The rooms are clean and comfortable, our room was on the 7th floor facing the courtyard and was deathly quiet, we slept like babies! After a great night's sleep breakfast awaits (be sure to reserve a table) as it is extremely popular with hotel guests and non hotel guests. We also dined in the evening and the food is very good, don't feel shy to take the wine to the restaurant from your room, the wine is very good and they will supply a wine cooler for you to keep the white cool. The all staff are very accommodating and we would like to say a extra thank you to Felix and Jacquelina on reception for all their help and Stephan in the restaurant who truly loves his work.

Are there any negatives? Only 1, I would like hair conditioner in the bathroom to compliment the shampoo, all the products are Molton Brown which was great but please supply hair conditioner.

Would I stay here again...... for sure!

Great property and amazing location
My wife and I visited Vienna for a long weekend and loved staying at The Guesthouse. It is perfectly located - no more than a 20 minute walk to 10 major Christmas markets in Vienna's First District.

The staff were incredibly helpful - from pre-arrival communications, last minute dining changes, and the various odds and ends.

The food at the Brasserie was amazing - now we understand why you really do need reservations for breakfast - it is that good and fills up with guests and locals! Even better is that room service is based on the same menu!

The rooms were comfortable - a bit tight in the typical European way and the bathroom could use some maneuvering if two people are sharing but there was plenty of hot water and water pressure.

The in-room espresso machine and complimentary beer/wine/soda was icing on the cake.

We would definitely stay again.

Incredible
This hotel is just excellent. I have never met staff who are all so consistently warm and friendly. Myself and my boyfriend travelled here in early December and got engaged in the hotel. He had organised it over the phone with them and said that we're so very helpful in every way imaginable.
The bedroom was stunning, the bed was very comfortable and bathroom very large and modern. The window boxes in the room are amazing, I didn't realise just how much I would love them from just looking at the photos. We enjoyed hours sitting in them with a glass of wine watching the city go by.
If I could give this hotel more than five stars I would. We have such happy memories in this hotel and cannot wait to return

Outstanding!!!
This trip was our first trip to Vienna as a birthday surprise for my husband; I had been emailing the hotel prior asking for some recommendations. I received immediate responses, with a variety of info which they assisted in bookings for us. I had also arranged airport transfers through the hotel, which was very efficient.
The hotel is located in the heart of Vienna, we arrived to warm and friendly welcomes. All the staff were amazing!!
We stayed in a Deluxe Double with a great view of the Albertina Museum and Opera House; the room was spacious and immaculate, it had great bay windows to sit, read and enjoy some lovely Austrian wine (which was complimentary). The bathroom is well laid out with separate shower and a big bath.
The restaurant downstairs is very popular, the food was excellent as was the prompt service. I would recommend making a reservation if you are a late riser as it gets busy very quickly!
We LOVED our stay and highly recommend The Guest House. Thank you for making this birthday surprise so amazing. We will definitely be back!!

Very central and friendly hotel
This is an excellent modern hotel right by the Albertina museum. The restaurant gets crowded, so you do need to email to them to book a table. The food is nice, especially the (small portion) French toast with figs. It is almost into the reception area, which is a desk and a couple of armchairs only. The staff on reception are very helpful and friendly.

The location is super convenient - I liked also Café Museum near the Opera and Konditorei Oberlaa in Neuer Markt for breakfast as well as the café in the hotel.

The (deluxe) room is large and modern. I like the free mini-bar- yes we did take the wine into dinner downstairs. Also the red was good enough to drink by itself in our room before having dinner elsewhere - see trip report. The window seat is also nice. My only problems - which is why the review is 4 stars not 5 is that the mattress on the bed sinks where you lie, so not good for a dodgy back, and that the bathroom is open plan with the room, so it you want to see where you are going in the night to the toilet you flood the room with light! We found out there is small nightlight in the toilet itself, but it goes out after 4 seconds, leaving you in darkness, waving your arms or legs to get it to turn back on! And it goes out when you leave to wash your hands.

It is an excellent hotel if you prefer boutique modern to grand historic (like those on the Ring).

This hotel is beautiful and perfectly located . The bakery is outstanding as is the restaurant . We stayed two nights and enjoyed having breakfast and dinner at the restaurant . I would rate the restaurant a 10/10 . We loved the complimentary wine in the room. It was actually some of the best wine we had on our trip. Lastly the staff at the hotel and restaurant were extremely helpful and friendly . Thanks for a great stay !

Was here for one night, for work.

The Guesthouse is very well-located, and it's super easy to get around the city from it. The room I had was modern-ish and clean. No tub, but a great shower. And so much free of charge wine in the minibar...

Wonderful coffee machine.

Only drawbacks - not too much counter space in the bathroom, and the curtains didn't close tightly, so I clipped them together with a coat hanger.

Breakfast on the ground floor was fine the next morning. Room service in the evening only offers a limited menu (ham and cheese toasties etc).

Staff were all friendly, courteous, and helpful.

A HOTEL WITH A MINDSET ON ENSURING YOUR STAY IS SUPERB & SEAMLESS!
This is a hotel I would not hesitate to stay at again!
On arriving (during lunch-time) - I must admit though that I was taken aback that the hotel reception is a tiny space, fronted by the hustle and bustle of its on-site cafe and brasserie. However, their front-desk staff on duty - Jacquelyn checked me in, with a very cheery and upbeat explanation of what to expect, provided me a very handy "what's on this week" pamphlet for Vienna, and even, gave me info on the nearest supermarket.
In all - I stayed 5 nights in this super efficient, well-run, well-designed (Philip Starck no less) boutique hotel in Vienna. There was a two-day break in my stay, and when I returned, earlier requests like an additional waste bin for the room, additional bath mat etc were thoughtfully met!
Appreciated as well the inclusive mini-bar, Jura coffee machine, and although electric kettles are not allowed in the room - hot water to make tea was sent up very quickly on request. Loved also the two chocolate treats on arrival in the room too.
Shout-outs especially to front desk and bell staff - in particular Alexander, Jacquelyn of course, plus the other ladies at the front desk, Willy and the other couple of bell staff who were super helpful too.
Its location is par excellent - couldn't ask for anything better. I walked everywhere - and hopefully the next time I return to stay at The Guesthouse Vienna - the construction sites in that area would be gone, which will make it even more convenient. The hotel is just 5 minutes walk to the Kaiserplatz U-Bahn (the city's underground metro), and the State Opera House.
Kudos too to the hotel for "keeping up with the times" with a mobile number for WhatsApp messaging - this made it super convenient for me to message the hotel with queries and requests, even when on the go.
THANK YOU, Guesthouse Vienna for being a TRUE HIGHLIGHT of my stay in beautiful Vienna. Will definitely be back.

Everything about this hotel was amazing, the service second to none, they were over and above other hotels I have stayed in. Lovely Deluxe room, a great view at the front of the museums and the green opposite. Delicious meal there one night, Bell boys incredibly efficient, reception staff so helpful and friendly. such a good sleep too, the bed is fantastic and so comfy. We can't wait to return. Thank you all so much for a wonderful 4 night break! Andrew & Lucinda Barker :)

Liked • very clean in an excellent location. Staff very courteous and friendly - arrange taxis, city maps …
comfortable room - inner courtyard view - good size with a comfortable bed. Complimentary wine, beer and soft drinks too. Will definitely return.
Disliked • loved everything about the hotel. Only issue was with the shower - fabulous large shower with plenty of hot water but the shower door wouldn’t shut fully so we had to mop up wet floors where the water leaked out onto the bathroom floor. We reported this and maintenance responded immediately however, it was not fixed as they are waiting for shower door parts to arrive. Staff on reception kept us informed but we had to be very careful after showering.

Liked • EVERYTHING! From when you first enter the property, you will feel welcomed. From the vibe you get outside of people eating and enjoying their time, to the front desk individuals being super friendly. Everyone spoke English very well. Everyone greeted me with a smile on their face. The hotel itself is in a prime location- everything is within a 5-20 minute walk, depending on where you need to go. if you can’t get there by foot, the hotel is more than willing to call you a taxi (which is cheaper than Uber here.)
the beds were comfortable, free soft drinks, free coffee machine and tea. whatever we needed from reception was at our door in minutes!
Disliked • Nothing. other than the property- a lot of construction outside but don’t let that deter you from staying here. it is very easy to get around.
