Vienna Marriott Hotel 5*

Best avoided
The hotel has a central location and convenient underground parking, but that is really its best feature. The service was dire. I called down before going to bed to order room service breakfast for the following morning. It took ten minutes to get through before the order was finally taken. The breakfast never arrived. I called to find out what had happened. The operator said she would check and call back. She never did.
The rooms are ok, but feeling rather dated with old fashioned air con and low ceilings.
This is certainly not a 5* hotel.

Great hotel. Great location
Stayed here for 3 nights with my near teenager. Hotel is in a great area close to all the main attractions or transport to the main attractions. Taxi rank right outside the door. Room service is excellent comes a lot quicker than they suggest. Mini bar well equipped. Swimming pool great to chill out. Many many restaurants in the area. The park across the street is lovely for a roam. You might even come across an opera busker. Only downfall was I could hear construction happening from 6.30 am. I’m a very lite sleeper. Was great pressure on the shower. But they could do with adding a few English speaking channels to their tv. All in all we had a great time and staff would do anything for you. When I go to Vienna again I intent to stay here.

Location, location, location, you pay extra for it but was worth it in the time saved.
Liked - nice breakfast, good buffet, Omelet/pancake/waffle station, very attentive and good staff. if you have an early flight, or just want to go somewhere before they open the breakfast buffet just ask for a breakfast box and it will be ready for you at the reception even if you are leaving at 3 am in the morning.
Great location, 5 min from the CAT, 2 min to U2 Metro station, 2 min from U1 Metro station, Tram and hop-on bus stops just outside the hotel. next to the Stadtspark! less than 5 min walk to Graben pedestrian area, 8 min walk to Opera house.
Disliked - these are all rather minor things and overall it was a good stay. We stayed for 8 nights, 2 adults 2 kids, and they only topped up the shampoo/shower gel/conditioner once... had to find a cleaning cart and ask for some more, and neither did they top up the creamer/coffee/teas in the room..
the bed was a bit hard for my taste and the pillows too soft.
also a small thing to pay attention to, for me they wanted to reserve 50% extra of the total price of the stay when I checked in! that would be quite a lot of money that would become locked up and not possible to be used. That was quite excessive, I negotiated it down to only €150 more than the total price of the hotel but still.. keep that in mind when checking in.

Clean and comfortable hotel in the heart of Vienna.
Liked - The hotel is located in the heart of Vienna. It has a nice interior. Room was clean and the coffee in the room was good. The bellboy was kind and helpful.
Disliked - The man in the reception was totally unfriendly and unhelpful. I had a problem with charging my bank card, so I had to use an ATM. Registration and confirmation took too much time. The kid that accompanied me was really tired from the long trip and was sleepy. She was crying but the receptionist did not show any effort to make the process faster or pleasent. Only the bellboy gives candies to the kid and says some warm words.
The water was leaking from the shower cabin. There were no bedside tables for every side of the beds and I had to put my cell phone and book at dawn on the floor.
