An affordable hotel sitting outside one of the most beautiful features in Venice! The staff was very nice and helpful and the venue was clean, tidy, and well decorated. It looked classic if not tacky, but that added to the charm. Our room was a small double, basic in every aspects, and whilst we did not expect to have a view of the bridge, the windows were literally facing a wall. No double glazing so we could hear outside quite well, but the alley doesn't have any restaurants or cafés. The bed was comfortable, pillows very flat, and the bathroom was very functional, albeit not looking fresh. Water pressure was good too! The let downs were probably expected for the price, but still not that enjoyable... The waste water of the bathroom gave into a sewage pipe that was open air in the middle of the bathroom. A bit unusual. The breakfast was very basic. You have to tick off a list of items what you would like and they serve it to you. All the food was average, apart from the coffee. We had a bad experience with a family that had a young child watching a loud cartoon on a tablet which was not what you want when trying to have a relaxing breakfast, half awake. The staff did nothing to improve that situation. Being able to leave your luggage on the final day is a nice plus, the iron was good and I would definitely recommend taking the ferry from the train station to the hotel: it gives great views of the city!
