Prior to arriving I already found the hotel very helpful in dealing with a couple of questions I had about the area (where to book a NYE meal) and dealing with a surprise for my girlfriend (pre-ordering a bottle of bubbly to the room).
Arriving at the hotel was easy; luckily our room was early a few hours early so we checked in early. Details about the hotel was explained to us and then our key-cards given.
Our room was lovely; spacious, a great view of the park and local area outside, with a generous bathroom. It was a shame there was no kettle or coffee making facilities - this seemed reserved for the upgraded room. Such a small feature would have gone a long way.
The breakfasts each morning were lovely; high quality ingredients with good choice. There was with breakfast a great selection of juices, and each morning we were showing quickly to a table.
A could of other notes for improvement though... we tried ordering room service whilst having an allergen and in the end didn't order. Asking if one dish could be done without dairy we were told it wasp remade and just warmed up so couldn't; and then asking for pasta, sauce and chicken, again told this couldn't be accommodated. It's a shame as for a 5* hotel we thought they could help.
However, the hotel was lovely and I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.
A tip too: there are two lifts, as well as the main one in the lobby there's a left along the circular staircase more 'into' the hotel. We never found a wait for that lift, whilst often having to wait for the small main lift
