Small boutique on the waterfront
Stayed here one night to enjoy the delights of Stockholm. Rooms are being renovated and the first 3 floors have been done already the receptionist told us. We had a room on the 3rd and it was brand new, we were one of the first to stay which was nice. Rooms are cosy with high ceilings, nice art photos and comfortable furnishings. Breakfast is a buffet and you can order eggs as you like them. Location wise it’s a short walk to shopping and old town districts.

Fantastic Location, Wonderful Staff
We had a wonderful stay at the Lydmar Hotel. Its a boutique hotel with unique hip old world ambience. Our room was on the 4th floor facing the canal behind the hotel. A really beautiful room with high ceilings, elegantly modern decor and great bath facilities. I understand others' comments about the street level impression. When arriving, it is confusing because the first floor is quite small and underwhelming. The front desk is up a flight of stairs. We quickly had a friendly employee bring our luggage up to our room. The hotel is a charming blend of old world elegance with luxe modern accents, art, and photography. The front desk staff could not have been more helpful, informed, and welcoming. They are extremely helpful and accommodating with arranging tickets, directions, early taxi to the airport. As it was summer, we loved the patio bar out front with fun bartenders and beautiful Swedes taking in the gorgeous canal views, listening to excellent playlists.
The dining room is gorgeous. It's a beautiful library room with bookshelves, wine bottles, tables, banquets, sofas, to sit on. The food is superb. Breakfast buffet is perfect with so many fresh, healthy options (and some more decadent, too) The food is displayed beautifully, we had our morning lattes made daily by the staff. I will miss the amazing Swedish bread as well as the best strawberries of the summer (Fraises des bois). Great music throughout the dining room. We had a fantastic time in Stockholm and at the Lydmar Hotel.

Luxury like the Queeen
A luxurious hotel with a great staff.Directly across from the Royal Palace, you can see the horses crossing the bridge for the changing of the guard. Caution: Only happens in winter in Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. Totally felt pampered the whole time. Great accomadations just two doors down from the Grand Hotel. Great, lively bar

The pearl of Stockholm!
The Lydmar hotel was above all expectations and we enjoyed every second of our stay! Beautiful large room and bathroom, wonderful restaurant with great food for breakfast, supper and dinner. All interior in delicious design and colors and great art all over, even in the guest rooms. Friendly, delightful and serviceminded staff, great location and just a walk to the old part of the city and center of Stockholm with theaters, national museum, royal castle, shopping malls and shopping streets.
I will definitely stay at the Lydmar hotel next time visiting Stockholm!

Totally Lovely
Great location on the water, elegant room with high ceilings and modern bathroom, good quality amenities, friendly staff, stylish breakfast room, great food and nice outdoor spaces. What more could you want? It looks unassuming from the street and the entrance is a bit confusing. Once inside there is a smallish lobby with the reception up a flight of stairs. Hang in, it is so worth it. Make sure you allow yourself lots of time to walk as it is ideally located to explore the city by foot.

Boutique hotel with excellent location
This hotel is a nice boutique hotel with a fantastic waterfront location close to public transportation. the atmosphere is modern and artsy. The hotel has one restaurant with a decent a la carte menu. Staff is friendly and helpful. It's not flawless however - our request for a firmer and/or additional pillow was not met as the hotel was "out of pillows". Strange for a hotel that charged us over US$800 per room.

Gem of a Hotel
Spent a glorious few nights here and including new year. Can’t fault the Hotel, loved the friendly staff and especially the reception staff. Can understand the comments on a busy reception but we felt this added to the ‘buzz’ of the Hotel.
Rooms were well appointed and especially touches around Netflix in the room, hair straighteners. Nespresso machines, nicely stocked minibar. Location is fab, very handy for walking to all sights locally, old town, ferries, adjoining islands for museums.
Hotel restaurant especially nice, it’s vibrant and feels personal and private - there isn’t a corporate feel to this hotel and this is exemplified in the relaxed restaurant- food is excellent and the bar area as an island where people can stand, sit, interact is a really nice environment. It was nice to see staff staying for drinks after they knocked off and genuinely enjoying each other’s company. Loved it ! We will be back.

In two minds!
This is a boutique, overly styled hotel. It’s in a great location and has a fabulous restaurant for breakfast lunch and dinner. (Staff in the restaurant we’re away excellent)
The rooms are ok - bathrooms generous size and bedding of a very good standard but .... the reception area is chaotic. Always full of people and no proper Concierge so we were misled on several occasions regarding activities and locations.
Reception itself is upstairs and a pain with suitcases as no one meets you at the door. Rooms are advertised with sitting areas but surprisingly these are communal areas outside the lift on each floor and for the three days we were their I never saw them used. I really can’t say whether I liked my stay or found the over stuffed book shelves in every room just too overwhelming and the constant noise too annoying. Is it a vibe??
Also, the inability to access the spa (apparently booked out for months! ) and a charge to use the spa (both at a neighbouring hotel) were annoying and not quite what I would expect at SLH.
Lots to fix here I think to get it up to SLH standard.

Great stay only minor negative
Lovely rooms, great breakfast, friendly staff. From start to finish there was always a warm welcome from all the staff and the rooms were really nicely done. The only negative point would be a lack of tea making facility in the bedrooms. They only provide coffee but think they should also cater for tea drinkers. We shouldn’t have to pay for that in the bar. Irrespective of that, it’s a great hotel and would recommend if your visiting Stockholm!

A must in Stockholm
What an exceptional hotel, its fantastically decorated, the food is amazing, the staff are so attentive, the area is perfect next to museums etc, it really is THE place to stay. Loved my room, the large shiny bathroom, Nespresso machine, welcome note, deep comfortable bed. Dont be seduced by other more expensive hotels, this is the best in Stockholm.

Wow! This hotel is amazing! From the quirky art works and amazing photography to the brilliant friendly staff and super comfy beds!
We stayed with our 10&7 yr olds (the hotel
Has some interconnecting rooms) and they were made to feel very welcome.
We loved all the decor - this is a superbly decorated and well thought out boutique hotel. The breakfast was great - and they made a mean Bloody Mary too! Perfect!
Location wise it’s minutes from the main shopping areas and right on the waterfront so beautiful views too.
Would highly recommend this hotel. We can’t wait to come back!

Have stayed here and dined here on separate occasions. Really love the home vibe in the restaurant. Food is great & the cocktails are tasty. Staff are helpful and nice. Rooms and decor are cosy but trendy. The only slight negative is that the gym is not in the building so there is a short walk across the road to the Grand Hotel gym - this is a great gym however so not too much of an issue. Just not fun if it’s wintertime and snowing! Highly recommend staying here and love that there are dog friendly hotel rooms!

Our impression of the hotel is the staff, super nice, friendly, and helpful, can’t remember all the names but Sara, Marcus, Anelka, Carl, the Cuban guy (sorry can’t remember the name), all of them were super nice.
The hotel is very nice, boutique cosy style.  The beds are very comfy, and the showers are great. The location is excellent, close to the center (but quiet),  walking distance, and in front of the lake.

Rooms are all individually decorated. 5th floor has a lounge with turntable where you can run your own party. Services top as well as food and drinks. High recommendation for a weekend stay. Stayed at Lydmar hotel with my family and we had a the wonderful stay. The hotel is very well located in the centre of city near the harbour just a few minutes walk everywhere. Our rooms were exceptionally clean and welcoming. Food was great and they have a very reasonable breakfast in the morning with a wonderful selection of juices, breads and cheese. The staff is very friendly and helpful at all times. Would definitely recommend and go back there!

Description

Rooms
All of our rooms are individually furnished and no rooms are alike. On the 5th floor you can enjoy the feeling of a penthouse with wooden beams in the sloping ceiling. The furnishing is meant to give you that homey feeling, with furniture in different styles. The rooms have different views such as street, park and waterfront.
