Fantastic weekend break. Very impressed!
My fiancee and I spent a long weekend in Stockholm and chose the Grand Hotel because of it's location and the fact its the choice of many celebrities.

Check in was great. The member of staff that checked me in was a really friendly guy. Not sure what his name was but he was also going to the Post Malone gig on 1st March. We received a complimentary upgrade. The room we had was great, very spacious, comfortable bed. Well stocked minibar (which wasn't restocked once items were taken unfortunately). The Bottega Veneta toiletries were lovely.

We had breakfast delivered to the room which was good, however ordering was a little confusing.

Nice atmosphere in the bar area, good service and friendly waiter.

The pool area was closed for maintenance so unfortunately we didn't get the chance to try it and we didn't dine at the restaurant either but it did look fantastic.

If I was ever returning to Stockholm I would definitely stay here again.

My stay also came with 1 year complimentary membership to Leading Hotels of the world which was a nice perk as I've stayed in several of the hotels before,

Excellent stay – quiet luxury hangout
The Grand Hotel delivered an exceptional experience. Location and facilities are top-notch, little doubt about that. The staff is extremely welcoming and attentive. This provides you with a familiar feeling all throughout your stay. The rooms are incredible: well and thoughtfully designed without the pomp and decadence many five star hotels strive for. Instead, the Grand provides you with a humble experience, that excels at all categories a luxury property needs to excel at. Another example of this is their breakfast. Instead of killing you with thousands of items, the Grand makes a careful selection that should please everyone, but puts the focus on quality, not quantity. So while it may seem their choice is limited, the quality is exceedingly good. Oh, and if you get to use one of their conference rooms, this is where unmatched decadence hits you. Unbelievable.

Absolutely stunning hotel
I stayed at Grand Hotel on a business trip for one night, and I really wish I could have spent more time in the hotel. The room was beautiful, the bed extremely comfortable and the bath tub one of the biggest I’ve seen in a hotel. The location is great and staff very professional. The breakfast is tasty with wide selection of quality food and beverages. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Rooms rather dated and not maintained to a superior level.
Room was dated with the bathroom not maintained to the level expected from a 5 star hotel. Carpets were in a poor state and the entrance to the room has a rather awkward step on which you can easily trip both in and out.

The toilets in the conference facility were not kept clean and staff didn't respond even after being asked a few times. Disappointing when you are hosting clients.

The staff were friendly and checking in and out was fairly painless. Hotel views and location is good.

Tough For an Early Start
Generally I have really enjoyed staying at the Grand over the years, but lately I have found it to be less Grand than before. During our stay the two main elevators were under construction, leading to long waits at the single elevator that was available. We also realized that the restaurants don't open for breakfast until 7am, making it difficult to eat if you have early meetings or a flight. Room service is an option, but they surprisingly don't waive the service fee for orders before that. (Also note that the gym doesn't open until 6 as well).

The rooms were modern and generally nice (and they did upgrade us), but surprised to see such a small television and poor channel selection at a luxury hotel.

We also found the service to be hit/miss with some staff being very welcome and others seemingly uninterested in being there at all.

Great stay
I’ve stayed at many luxury hotels around the world but this is truly one of the best. Nothing to complain about from check in to departure. The room was beautiful and the bed one of the best. And for one that is very disturbed by noise it was completely quiet. Bathroom spacious and with both a big tub and big shower. Breakfast was good but expensive, the only thing missing would be a omelet-station for that price. Also great are the restaurants that are within the hotel, no need to go outside. And if you have the time the SPA is well worth spending time at, one of the best in the city!

Lots of Good Things. But a bit less Grand than Expected.
Check in was clumsy and problematic. Discussed with the manager who seemed concerned but soon realized she only was trying to make herself feel better about it and not really me. I'm sure she will have her own response about it, but honestly, she made a very challenging situation all the more troubling by cornering me and feigning sincerity when all she wanted me to do was to remove my first review. I'll just say that I wasn't treated as evenly as other guests arriving at the same time. And although I was staying longer, I just didn't meet their criteria of "class" I suppose to be treated as an equal with baggage help or treatment at check in. Funny how my money was still just as good as the others. But somehow because I may look different than their typical guest, I didn't deserve equal respect. Sweden is usually much more cool than this. Otherwise, the property is nice and my room was fine and most of the employees were always receptive and nice to be around. Thumbs down for check in and general manager, though.

Grand Hotel
Wow, this place was amazing. The old ballroom was just breathtaking with amazing decor. The room we had was plenty big enough with a lobby entrance rolling into the magnificent bedroom complete with chandelier! Staff were really nice and helpful and the location was just perfect to get out and about in Stockholm.

I dined here twice at their beautiful restaurant. Service was excellent and very friendly. The menu is extremely average and resembles a high-end student café menu. Their hot chocolate was fantastic! On Christmas Eve, I had expected a festive menu and some special efforts to make dining more memorable.

Beware undisclosed fees and make sure you book a newly renovated room.  The website is unclear about where rooms are located and the wind furtherest from the lobby is very old, clean but old.  The new rooms are nice but upgrade costs are significant to get a room you would have expected.  The spa is not free, even when you book a suite.  I wasn't told when I booked our allocated time, nor when we checked into the spa that there was a 1200SEK cost for 2 people to use the Sauna.  Restaurants are very nice, Matbaren is a must if in Stockholm, but the hotel is expensive to get what you would expect.

Great service and amazing well furnished rooms with different styles. Been visiting grand hotel in Stockholm for a while now and every time if feels better than the previous visit. Amazing rooms to discover and you don’t need to do anything when you are at Stockholm more than enjoying the room and the services the hotel has to offer. An easy 5-stars.

We've been here to celebrate our engagement day and it was superb. The building itself is soo beautiful. Also the receptionist upgrade us in a suite. The room, bathroom and living room were amazing. Also they have a spa with facilities for everyone. Small swimming pool in the changing area  sauna and steam rooms. The main swimming pool was lovely and the lights and decor were gorgeous. Breakfast in the morning was my favourite. The white linen, the white colours on the wall, next to large windows and the beautiful view of the city. Was just amazing. Will definitely come back.

From its 1874 opening, Grand Hotel Stockholm has been one of Sweden' s leading hotels. Royalty, heads of state, celebrities and Nobel laureates make themselves at home in refined waterfront surroundings near the Royal Palace. Old Town, Stockholm City Hall, Vasa Museum, Millesgarden and the Museum of National Antiquities are nearby.

All rooms have high-speed internet access – broadband or wifi – at no extra charge.

Food & Drink
Matbaren with one Michelin star is already legendary, and he has recently opened the lacto-ovo vegetarian restaurant Rutabaga. The Veranda restaurant is perfect for celebrating all types of occasions - Easter, Midsummer, Christmas and New Years – in classic Swedish tradition. The Cadier Bar is a favourite of Champagne-loving Stockholmers and hotel guests looking for the perfect cocktail. In short: a number of Stockholm’s best restaurants, chefs and bartenders are right here at the hotel, which is also evident in our room service.
