Room Mate Bruno Hotel

Everything about my stay at Room Mate Bruno was perfect, from the moment I arrived to the moment I left. The room was amazing. I was fortunate to get an upgrade upon my arrival from a basic double to a standard exterior double. The room was a good size with all the amenities you need. It was clean and remained cleaned throughout my stay. The bed was huge!! The staff always welcomed you with a smile. It got to the point where I was looking forward to see the cleaning staff every morning on my way out. There was one staff member in particular who was very helpful when I was checking out - I've forgotten her name. Despite being very busy she went out of her way to get someone to help me collect my luggage, which they were storing for me. It's a small gesture but one that saved me time and meant I wasn't rushing to get my train home. The location was ideal and convenient for all tourist attractions and restaurants. The nearest Metro is only a couple of minutes walk away. The main attractions are in walking distance via the Erasmus Bridge. The area in which the hotel is based, Wilhelminakade, is a great place to hang out and relax by the river. The hotel doesn't have it's own restaurant, but Foodhallen is in the same building and delicious food from an array of vendors.

The room was not clean. The bed was full of hairs (pubic included) and the linen had multiple stains. The bathroom smelled of vomit. The room had the view of the lounge or the food court so we could see the people sitting downstairs (they could see us too I guess). The room was not soundproof so we could hear pretty well the music coming from the club nearby. The receptionist was friendly. When you check-in, be ready to pay a deposit of 50 euros (nothing was said about it during booking, I hope to see it being returned to me). Unfortunately, we did not have time to have a chat with the receptionist, as we had to catch a train. So, don't trust the good reviews as we did. This is hotel is totally overpriced and just dirty + noisy.

We were torn between getting an airbnb and spending out a bit more for a nice hotel and I'm so glad we chose the latter. The best thing about this hotel is the staff, they were excellent. The hotel is very nicely furnished and our family room was huge and perfect for what we wanted. The location is great, right next to a Metro station and close to lots of great restaurants with stunning views. My only slight critic was that our water and drinks in the minibar were not replenished at all during our stay which surprised me. As the wine had not been replenished we requested a bottle of wine from the reception and it was not very nice at all, in fact we left it which is very unlike us. Other than that, the hotel was fantastic and we really enjoyed our stay, thank you.

Amazing hotel! The room was very comfortable and big, and it was always so tidy when we arrived back to the hotel at nights. Breakfast was delicious - we will dream about the bacon for weeks, that’s for sure! We even had the chance to rent a bike at the reception - very usefull! Sadly because of the lock down we couldn’t try the bar, the fitness and the sauna but we will come back to here for sure!
