Hotel Vila Galé Porto Ribeira

Beautiful artsy hotel with a brilliant location. I needed to change the room and the staff were very lovely and obliging, 5 stars to them! View from most rooms was quite bad and the breakfast wasn't quite the level I expected (scrambled eggs were ice cold for instance). Note for remote workers: rooms not designed for remote work.

Location was outstanding. The staff here was extremities friendly and courteous. 30 feet from the water front. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Little away from the main city crowd yet easy walk to the city center.

A charming hotel! Well located with friendly and efficient stuff. Our requests were quickly met and with a smile! During checkin they notice it was my birthday  , when we returned a cake with greetings and a bottle of vine awaited us! Breakfast was excellent. We stayed in a room with balcony overlooking the river, a real treat. public transportation is close by for both the coast ribiera  and the upper city line 500 and tram lines 1 and 18. Need improvment: pillows are hard and inflated and no bathroom amenities were provided.

Lovely views of the river. Tram line is right in front so it’s convenient if you want to get around the city, but it doesn’t run during the night so it won’t wake you. Breakfast buffet has a great selection of sweet and savoury, including an egg and pancake cooking station. Loved all the fresh, hot croissants. Room is a good size, clean and modern. Lovely courtyard with bougainvillea and vine covered walls. There’s also lots of paintings and artworks throughout the hotel hallways. Staff are very friendly and helpful. I went down to collect my Uber Eats and they handed me a plate and cutlery without even asking. Very happy with my stay here.
