Descobertas Boutique Hotel

Room 302. Upon arrival we were not greeted. We were only reminded that we had to wear masks and show proof of our identities. There was no ‘welcome to Porto’ or ‘welcome to our hotel’. None of that. The location is great and the interior is very nice, but this is where it ends. Firstly, our sleep in the hotel was terrible. The beds where as hard as planks, pillows plastic and uncomfortable and there was a massive dip in the mattress. We woke up feeling like we’d been hit by a bus. Furthermore, the cleaners started cleaning at 8:00 am on a Sunday morning. They were noisy and didn’t respect or consider that guests may be sleeping. During breakfast, the only things worthwhile eating was the fruit. Everything else was stale and inedible. It had obviously been left there overnight.  Scrambled eggs and ham were dry and cold and there was no variety of food. We did not enjoy our stay. The hotel was practically empty, so there could have been great customer service. The staff was simply there to fill a box and get paid, not for the pleasure of the guests. I would advise you not to stay in this hotel, even if it is for one night. The sleep will ruin you and you will leave you feeling broken and unwell.

We had a mixed experienced at this hotel. On one hand, we liked the friendly staff, good & spacious rooms, and good breakfast. On the other hand, the location is both good and bad. Good because the hotel is in the touristy Ribera zone and bad because uber/rental cars are not allowed so we had to drag our luggage and a baby stroller all the way to the hotel. To be fair, the hotel had informed us about this inconvenience in advance but we didn't realize how bad the parking situation in Porto is. My advice for families staying at this hotel: Ditch your car and take a taxi (not uber) from airport/station.

My husband and I stayed in this hotel 2 weeks ago and we were very happy with the location, the customer service, our room and bathroom and the fact that they gave us a breakfast box the day that we were leaving early to the airport and could not meet the breakfast schedule. We would definitely go back!

Very small rooms, creaky floors, bad design, noisy. The room shutters are remote operated and the remote doesnt work so everyday we needed someone to come and close it manually or we sleep with the shutters open. If youre a light sleeper you will be woken up by the sounds of people and birds and rain and everything. The minute you step out of the hotel door you smell very bad stench of sewers it was unbearable. The location is lively but you cant reach by car only walking so if you have luggage I do not recommend! The hotel receptionist was rude and unresponsive to our complaints and was yelling at us when we asked simple requests.
