Moscow Marriott Royal Aurora Hotel

Great location, a little dated but big rooms for the center of Moscow
The location is very central, most tourist attractions are within walking distance. Nice streets around the hotel if you want to go for a walk. Very nice restaurants nearby.
Big nice rooms, although they are a little dated.
The breakfast is great but way overpriced. And yes I'm comparing with other breakfasts in the center of Moscow.

NYE 2019
I had a hard time chosing a hotel for Moscow as I booked my NY holiday very last minute. I decided to stay in Marriot Royal Aurora for winter holiday with my family. We were three & we thought there will be twin bed with extra bed for us (as we have informed the hotel that the booking will be for 3). Unfortunately, It was only twin bed & so I had to pay more for extra bed. Receptionist was helpful but not really nice. During the payment of my extra bed, they didn’t let me pay with my debit card without my name on it. The receptionist said it was because they have a protocol that debit card needs to have a name. I was annoyed at first because I thought it was offensive as She (the receptionist) made it sounds like it was not my card. I mean, I have the pin for my card, if I know the pin, it must be my card. Plus in my country, you don’t have to put your name on your debit card but yes you should have your name in your credit card.

Breakfast was nice & location was really close to Red Square & almost everything. The only people we like was the concierge, they were not only helpful but also very hospitable! Unfortunately, it was not worth it for 5 star hotel.

Nice experience
We arrived for the first time in Moscow.

The way from the airport, Domodedovo to the hotel tooks us a hour and a half (even if it was with private transfer) , so we arrived exhausted.

Very friendly and helpfull staff at the front desk have arranged our check in very quickly and uncomplicated.

The room was big enough with two double beds (really double).

Bathroom big enough and always clean.

I would like to mention again the staff at the front desk which was allways helpfull and willing to solve any of our request related to the room.

The location of the hotel is really downtown so you can reach the Red Square or the Kremlin entrance within 15 min of walk.

All the shopping streets are around the hotel.

Breakfast was served in the Restaurant located in the second floor as also in the executive lounge (5th floor).
With the breakfast was actually the only small issue what we had since in one of the mornings the staff in the executive lounge was overwhelmed by the high number of guest. They where friendly and tried there best but they missed a manager who could organized them better and overlook there activity
(probably also more resources where needed specially in this very busy days).

Good location and reasonable pricing
I like this hotel because of its splendid location to the Red Square and the major attractions in the city. Stay are friendly and helpful. Rooms are nice, even though a little on the small side for a Marriot class hotel. Clean rooms. The only item that I would say is lacking is that the hotel should be able to help more with information on transport advise (example to the airport).

Man, it's expensive - but good location
It is very expensive ... and beginning to look tired around the edges. It does need a refurbishment in the near future.
The location is great - 500 yds from Red Sq & the Kremlin and loads of eateries around.
The rooms are big and comfortable , the beds are huge in the standard rooms.
All food and drink in the hotel is stunningly expensive - large beer is 10 GBP ... breakfast ( I think) is about 25 GBP ... so good value it is not.

Very pleasant stay at the Marriott. Surrounded by good restaurants, walking distance to most places like Red Square, and overall very comfortable rooms. 5 stars for me! I would recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone.

I stayed in this hotel with three little kids, and the stay exceeded my expectations. I was afraid that, because of the location and the - relatively - stuffy ambiance in the lobby, we would not feel welcome. I was wrong, and they totally pulled it together. The room was spacious for our crew and impeccably clean, the staff was wonderful, and the location is hard to beat. I do speak Russian, so I can’t attest to their English proficiency, but for our purposes, this hotel was very family friendly, and we will be back.

Расположение - это самое главное достоинство отеля! Я останавливалась в нескольких отелях в центре Москвы ( Арарат Хаятт, Балчуг Кемпински, Лотте, Мосбутикотель), каждый из них хорош по своему: из Балчуга уникальный вид на Кремль, а Хаятте самые стильные номера, в Лотте самые роскошные и обслуживание - о-очень)))))))), Мосбутик самый необычный и уютный))) , но... пусть в Марриоте номера слегка «уставшие» ( но безукоризненно чистые), зато какое удовольствие выходить из холла на Петровку))))) напротив - Петровский пассаж, налево - Столешников переулок , направо - из-за угла выглядывает ЦУМ и Камергерский переулок с бесчисленными ресторанчиками. И все это украшено, сверкает блестит и в новогодние каникулы и летом. Пятый раз здесь останавливаюсь , каждый раз порываюсь для разнообразия выбрать что-то другое, и бывает выбираю, но возвращаюсь суда - удобство расположения перевешивает. Завтраки отличные, вообще нет замечаний. Номера просторные, тихие , просите с видом на Петровку, Столешников
