Hôtel Carré Vieux Port Marseille

The location is great. The service is very nice. The place is very clean. The breakfast is nothing special. But the rooms are small to the point of inducing claustrophobia. There is a half meter space around the bed and that's it. You cannot open the balcony door completely because it hits the bed. You cannot open the room door and the bathroom door together because there is no space. There are no closets. There is a half shelf in a corner intended to be a table, but it is smaller than a sheet of paper. If you have winter clothes or a suitcase, they will not fit inside the room. Disappointing, I wouldn't recommend for anything longer than a one or two days stay.

It's good, I stayed just one Saturday ,great location 1 minute walk to the port ,bars etc. Staff are stunning ,helpful and professional. Room 409 is a bit dingy and not symmetrical (hence 4 stars)but everything worked .I'd try to get a diferent room next time . Also its 15 minute walk to st Charles station. All good.

Okay, have stayed in better 3 star hotels, but overall okay, location is good and price was okay at the time compared to others. Only annoying thing was I ended up I'll the rest of my trip as the cleaning lady ended up closing my bedroom window (had left it open previous two days) and turning up my aircon to the highest the very last day (had left it off previous two days) so ended up with soar throat and ear pain!! Not the best symptoms to have nowadays, but other than that it was okay!

The location is excellent, very centralised and a stone's throw away from the metro. The room was a decent size with a good big tv to go with it. Airconditioning was fine, though noisy. On the contrary, the view was non existant nor was any natural light, leaving the room dark and gloomy. The hallway and room are not well insulated and everything is audible from both ends. The breakfast in the morning was good and quick. The room service idem. Overall, a good hotel with its flaws.
