In the heart of the city's hustle and bustle.
A great location of you are looking for lots of commercial shopping. Also close to "old" Madrid which offers more quaint and traditional Spanish shopping and sightseeing. Within walking distance of royal palace, the cathedral, parc retiro, templo de debod, plaza mayor, and puerta del sol (all must sees while in madrid)

Fantastic stay
The hotel is in a great location for exploring the city, allowed as to walk to all the main tourist sites we wanted to visit on our stay. The closest open metro stop is not far only a couple of minutes walk, the closest metro stop is currently closed for renovations, not sure for how long.

I loved the atmosphere at the hotel. Staff friendly and helpful. Room comfortable, with a great bathroom. I used the gym, which was a typical hotel gym, but all the equipment was in good working order.

Bar / restaurant on level one is lovely and allows you to people watch on the street below.

Terrible attention to details, poor service, cheap outfitting of rooms
I am a frequent guest in Hyatt hotels, and expected MUCH more from this property. This hotel positions itself as a luxury hotel in Madrid as far as prices. However, although it is a new hotel, it is finished in the cheapest of methods. PVC windows, cheap NH-style floors and room furnishings, very poor breakfast selection in a bizarre room under the courtyard. Bathroom is fitted in marble, but no in-floor heating, so super cold on the feet. Housekeeping is noisy and comes late. Hallways lack any charm or character. Service is nonexistent, usually no bellmen present. Gran Via View isn’t as “grand” as you may think - the street is just a common shopping street, and the building next door is under construction. For this price, you have many significantly better options in the city. I would not recommend.

In the Centric of it all!
Had a wonderful stay here last week. Great staff that was helpful and friendly. Nice modern room, comfy bed, and spectacular location. Close to shopping and restaurants. Public transportation would be super close, except the Gran Via metro station is under construction. Other Metro stations aren't that far though. The one thing that is tough is the sheer amount of people walking on Gran Via. Not good if you are afraid of crowds, but great for people watching.

Convenient location - but erratic service, poor dining
Just checked out from my first stay at Hyatt Centric - with very mixed feelings: I frequently come to Madrid, and as we stayed the weekend before business meetings I chose the hotel for its central location on Gran Via (and for finally burning a few left-over Hyatt points...).

The hotel does not disappoint on location - great access to shopping, and within 10 min walk to many of the touristic hotspots. A few other things are also good: Rooms are modern, seating with extra table and working desk stylish and functional, beds comfortable, sufficient closet space, nice and overall well-designed all-white marble bathrooms. We had a room on the 8th floor, nice views over the roofs of the city and lots of light - but lower-level rooms must feel dark facing a small, grim side-street.

Unfortunately there are lots of downsides as well
- Service is erratic at best - while staff is friendly just feels not very competent (difficulty linking two bookings, slow check-in and check-out, hotel card not validated for full stay, room service forgot my wine, reception connected me to "nowhere" when trying to order roomservice, ...)
- Dining was poor - room service outright terrible (very small menu - even when I asked I was told no other choices despite them having a full-service restaurant, burger was terrible for 18 EUR (bread, one dried tomato from a can, overcooked meat, no sauce, soaky potatoes...). Breakfast ist just OK - but compared to Westin, Gran Hotel Ingles, the lovely breakfast at Hotel Urban with its great fresh fruit) just average/poor.
- Restaurant is dark, no windows to outside, cramped (when tables are occupied difficult to walk around). Lobby / lobby bar is slightly better, but feels just without a soul

So overall if you come for location and room quality only, and have a few points to burn this could be a good choice for a weekend stay over. Otherwise stay away - there are better choices with better price / value.

Excellent hotel, the best in madrid
This hotel is definitely the best in town, reso the manager at the hotel is extremely helpful and he takes client needs very seriously. He made our stay much more comfortable, if you are in madrid don't waste time searching for a hotel it's the best in madrid although it's a bit pricy.

Spectacular hotel in the most central of locations
Had a fantastic stay at the Hyatt Centric Madrid. Have been to Madrid twice previously and stayed in SoHo. By far, the Hyatt Centric is hands down a better location. Everything is a stones throw away, whether you want shopping, restaurants, sight seeings, metro. The hotel itself is not a normal Hyatt feel, but that is the whole idea. It is a quirky, New York loft style with timber floors, high ceilings. But everything you want in a hotel is there and the staff are tuned to really turn on the service. We had a Junior Suite, with a balcony that overlooked Gran Via. Fantastic way of immersing yourself in the atmosphere of Madrid. The soundproofing in the rooms was amazing and with the doors closed, virtually soundproof. The breakfast in the morning was amazing with everything on offer and there is a web equipped gym. Couldn't not fault the Hyatt Centric and highly recommend. I am a Lifetime Globalist with Hyatt, so I know Hyatts around the world and this was one of the best.

Excellent Stay!!
Excellent location!
Excellent deco in a heritage building but artistic design!
Excellent in room amenities and design!
Excellent roof top garden! Oasis in the city center!
Excellent generosity with pastry in the lobby for hotel guest!
Excellent customer service wth a smile from bell boy to receptionist!

Dropped by hotel slightly early then official check in time, they offered the room without much hesitation or some kind of look where you received from other hotel “our official check in time is 3pm”

All the famous brands are around the hotel, Zara, Mango, Primark etc. Lots of excellent Spanish cuisine behind the hotel and options of Asian restaurants just across the hotel, 24 hours McDonald is at the sane row of you are hungry.

Prado Museum is just a 15 min walk from hotel. Love the hotel and plan to return there this year too, one night is simply too short to explore the vibrant city with shopping, museum, sightseeing and Spanish cuisine.

Thank you for making my trip so memorable especially celebrating my year end holiday.

We stayed at this wonderful hotel for 10 days, and I'm so glad we chose the Hyatt! Initially we were just looking for a hotel near my daughter's apartment. She checked it out ahead of time for us and said it's in a great location and it looked very nice. But it's more than just a great location. The customer service is amazing! We checked in very early and they had our room ready for us, which was so welcome after a long flight. The front desk crew were just wonderful, even allowing us to stay an extra hour after check-out on the day we left. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast a few times, and the staff in the restaurant were very friendly and attentive. There was always staff in the lobby to help with anything. One day I was trying to carry coffees and food items up to my room without dropping everything, and Alex came right over and took some items and helped me get to my room. The housekeeping staff was great too--the room was always spotless and they were responsive if we needed anything. A couple times I asked for extra coffee pods for the coffee machine the hotel provides in the room, and they always brought it right away. We plan on visiting my daughter again in the spring, and we will definitely stay at the Hyatt Centric.

Wonderful experience here!!  We stayed here twice in one trip for 2 nights each at the beginning and end of our Spain trip.  Could not have been more happy and pleased with the service, and the staff.  Everyone was so friendly and helpful!  First of all, they really went above and beyond for us as Globalist.  I always keep my expectations low to not be disappointed, but very impressed with the rooms we received both times and the personal touches they gave us. If you have the status definitely stay here, they are generous with upgrades, (granted we did stay in only 2 night increments), the breakfast was amazing as well as all the servers were so friendly.  The rooftop bar was also such a cool place! The gym was also wonderful as well.  The location of this hotel could not be beat as it’s close to everything, also only a few subway stops to the train station.  I was initially sad that the Thompson Madrid wasn’t opening until Sept, so we wouldn’t be able to stay there, but now I’m so grateful since the Hyatt Centric exceeded our expectations.  Thank you Cristina in Guest Services, Pamela, Alphonso, and Cristina at the front desk checking us in and out, Alex for helping us with our bags, and Antonio for serving us at breakfast.  Every one of you helped make our time inMadrid awesome!  Can’t wait to stay here again!

WOW! Probably one of the best hotel I ever stayed at! Natalie at the front was so helpful! The rooftop bar the bartender (forgot his name tall male from Columbia) was SO nice! Staff was awesome! My sister from America wanted to arrange balloons for my bday and staff was so helpful to arrange cake and balloons and made it a surprise when I came into my room. The view was just breathtaking. Please please book this place!
I won’t go to another hotel when I come back to Madrid except this one! 10/10!

Absolutely breath taking location, right in the middle  of a shopping street! Incredibly amazing stay and  staff ESPECIALLY Olga from customer service. I’ve stayed at many hotels for business with great staff but Olga is in a league of her own. She was incredibly helpful, attentive, knowledgeable and patient. She simply made my trip everything that it was. Olga followed up and followed through on every request I had and Ah had many given it was my first time here. I felt so at home! Olga, I hope you get to read this because you’re an amazing staff and Hyatt is lucky to have you. Hyatt, you have a gem in Olga and if you didn’t recognize it, I hope you do now. I’ll be back!
