Failed to see young faces
When I stayed in The Ritz for several nights recently and watched the endless stream of guests to afternoon tea, bar gatherings, dinner in the restaurant and those heading to their rooms, I suddenly realized that I do not see young faces. Yes, the youngers choose modernity, they are not ready to surrender to traditions, strict formal dress code, old school etiquette, not ready to accept quite heavy palace style. Does it harm The Ritz? Maybe.

I should say, that all the staff were great, almost impeccable. Special thanks to Concierge team - busy all the time but nevertheless affable and effective. Sometimes we came across lack of receptionists and had to queue in а cramped front desk hall. Rooms have all you may desire, beds - pinnacle of comfort. However, decor and quality of finishing materials in standard rooms do not correspond to high status of the hotel

Just go. Find the money and just go.
My wife and I had a wonderful (but alas, all too brief) stay at the Ritz Hotel in London. Everything was perfect: the room was generously sized even though it was a standard room; the in-room amenities were wonderful (towels, robes, slippers, heated bathroom floor, etc.); and the staff was impeccable (from the doormen, to reception, to concierge, to the bar staff). Two staff in particular were especially pleasant (a young man from Florence and a young woman from Sicily). And if you go, check out the Ritz Club bar downstairs, which we found even more romantic than the Rivoli Bar upstairs.

The Most Dazzling Experience
There’s not many things in the world that are completely perfect, but the afternoon tea I experienced at THE RITZ LONDON was!

Although slightly expensive, it’s something that anyone who is visiting or lives in London needs to experience at some point.

Decadent and mesmerising interior architecture, sublime food and even a sweet freebie when you’re enjoying your time there! (I won’t spoil the surprise)

Our waiter Sebastian was OUTSTANDING. A complete gentleman who knew how to work a table. I hope he endeavours and becomes a manager in the future.

With love music playing tentatively in the background, you really did feel like a royal
For the day/evening.

Please go! It’s just the pinnacle of all afternoon teas out there

Tea-reffic afternoon tea, simply the best!
I brought my 3 tea loving daughters here for afternoon tea and we were dazzled with the Ritz, their friendly service, incredible tea, and yummy scones. It was an afternoon I will treasure always, we tried tea at several other places while in London (even Kensington Palace) and this was just magnificent. The decor is old world charm which just adds to the experience, the staff is friendly and accommodating, we even got a little turned around on our way there and called, they told us to please not worry (I hate being late) had our table ready (ask to sit by the fountain, you get a great view) and never rushed us . If you are in London and want a spectacular afternoon, we can not recommend The Ritz enough!

Feel Like a Royal
This is an extraordinary hotel steeped in history and soul. The service is first class and sometimes you feel like you are in an elegant period movie walking through the halls of the hotel. Breakfast service was white "glove and tails" from the staff and I had to pinch myself to not believe I was in Downton Abbey. This hotel is worth every penny

The stay was wonderful. I was a bit offended when I couldn’t get into the Rivoli Bar due to my boots but came to understand it is their culture and the point of a dress code is to enforce it. Stayed at the Ritz for a week and loved the cigar bar and afternoon tea. We felt like we were on the Titanic but the ship didn’t sink. Highly recommend

Attentive perfection in all areas. Having spent a long weekend 4th February to 7th February 2022 our experience campared to other 5 star London and worldwide hotels was superb .
From the minute we stepped inside to when we left we were treated as special guests , more so than other hotels .
The food was glorious both at dinner , breakfast or room service .
Expensive but totally enjoyable and we will repeat !
5 stars plus , well done

The epitome of Afternoon Tea. We went to celebrate a big birthday.
I was worried that we wouldn’t be treated as special as if we were a hotel guest. I couldn’t have been more wrong. Every member of the team could not do enough for us. Our food and tea was of the highest quality and constantly topped up. The hall was very busy but you did not feel this, nor felt rushed.

Absolutely first class.

We had afternoon tea and couldn't have been more impressed. As you might expect, from the second you walk into the lobby, it is almost overwhelmingly impressive. Staff are everywhere, and can't be helpful enough.
We were early, and so went for a drink in the bar. The second we walked in we were being shown to a table, given drinks menus and offered complimentary nibbles. After our drink, we went downstairs to the ballroom, where tea was to be served. The grandeur of every inch of the Ritz has to be experienced to be believed. There was an excellent 3 piece string/piano ensemble playing as we ate, which just added to the wonderful atmosphere.
The quality of the food was sensational, and the standard of service was everything you'd expect from such an establishment. We were offered more sandwiches, tea and cake as soon as someone saw we were getting low and, for nearly 2 hours, were treated almost like royalty.
I cannot recommend afternoon tea at the Ritz highly enough. The food, the environment and the overall experience are something to be treasured.

A boxing day treat, afternoon tea at The Ritz, did not disappoint in any way. From walking in the door you are treated so unbelievably well, the staff not only look the part but they treat you so well, nothing is too much trouble to make your visit magical. With it being Christmas it was an extra special experience. After a glass of champagne, the sandwiches were lovely, the scones melted in your mouth and the miniature cakes were delicious. We chose to drink the Ritz Christmas Tea which again was lovely. I would  also like to mention the piano man and the carollers gave an extra special touch.  My husband and I had an amazing time and the memory of this will stay with us for a very long time.

Afternoon tea with my Daughter and Son.  Such an amazing experience.   The staff were so attentive.   The food was fabulous and so tasty, additional sandwiches supplied and teapots refreshed regularly.   Additional gateaux offered.  A surprise birthday cake brought out for me too..  We had a fantastic harpist and the whole thing was so opulent.   The whole time there we were made to feel so special.  Thank you.

We celebrated my mum’s birthday here yesterday with afternoon tea. It was absolutely brilliant, the piano was beautifully played throughout and even took requests, the waiters were lovely and enthusiastic, doing everything with a smile and the man on the door was wonderful and offered to take a picture of us and even held our bags as he did it. They catered to our dietary needs and provided a great gluten free and vegan birthday cake! We even got a gorgeous box to carry what we couldn’t eat home with us it was a lovely afternoon I would highly recommend!

Description

Location
The Ritz is located in the heart of London, making it the perfect location for exploring one of the most vibrant cities in the world.

The Ritz London
150 Piccadilly
London
W1J 9BR

Rooms
Bedrooms and suites – salmon pink, rose pink, yellow and blue – have been restored in their original Louis XVI style (no ‘guest designers’ indulging themselves here, as in rival hotels). There are several signature suites with magnificent views, including the Green Park Suite, which displays a more contemporary feel, yet still traditionally furnished, with white walls and a soft purple colour pallette.

Food & drink
Executive Chef John Williams joined The Ritz in 2004 and in October 2016 gained a Michelin Star for the first time, although the quality of his food has long reached that standard. “What makes me particularly proud” he says “is that the other grande dame London hotels that have stars for their restaurants are because of named, entrepreneurial chefs brought in to run them; they aren’t employees of the hotel, but I am, pure and simple, and proud to be”. His distinctive classical British dishes match their beautiful surrounding. Stand out dishes include langoustine with cauliflower and pickled onion, turbot with leeks, Oscietra caviar and champagne sauce and crêpes suzette, flambéed at the table. Head Sommelier Giovanni Ferlito’s wines – and his knowledge – complement the food. And on Fridays and Saturdays there is dinner and dancing; what other London hotel offers that?
