This a true 5star hotel with impeccable service and room care. The staff is very helpful and personable, attending to your every request. The room are consistent with the estimable heritage of the hotel, but have been updated with current decorating, furnishings and appliances. The location in the ever developing Coal Drops Yards is invigorating and offers many diversions. This is not a business hotel however- the room did not have a proper desk or office chair. Therefore I recommend this hotel for vacations and tourism rather than a working trip.

Pros:
- Excellent location, close to everything through Kings Cross and St Pancras.
- Phenomenal staff and housekeeping.
- On site restaurant has a limited menu but great food.
- The room decor is gorgeous and reminiscent of the hotel's classic origins.
- The pantry at the end of the hallway has little British treats.
Cons:
- No free breakfast even with a Marriott elite status.
- Rooms are on the smaller side. The closest is quite basic.
- No onsite gym.

Stayed here with a friend for 5 days last week. We were quickly checked in after arriving via the Eurostar from Paris, and received a beautiful corner room with views of the area between the two stations. The room was spacious with a large bed, and the bathroom had a huge soaking bath tub which was great after a full day of sightseeing. Received free drink vouchers to the bar downstairs as it was my friend’s birthday. Our room was cleaned each day and we returned each evening to a turned down bed and closed curtains. I really love the uniqueness of this hotel and the pantry at the end of the hall with free coffee/tea and sweets was a great touch. The only downside was that we were awakened during a nap right after we checked in by the weekly fire alarm test, so maybe tell your guests about this before it happens, especially the ones who are still experiencing jet lag after arriving from the US the day before! Overall, a wonderful stay and it’s location is so convenient to Eurostar and multiple lines of the tube.

Very clean and quiet spot, despite being an annex to Kings Cross station. Excellent customer service. Great shower, towels, and bed linens.  The on-site restaurant, Plum & Spilt Milk is quite nice. Only slight downside is the small-ish room. But I would stay again and recommend the hotel.
