Copthorne Tara Hotel London Kensington

The room was tidy but could do with updating.  I'd hazard a guess the last time it saw a paint brush was in the late 90s.  The bath had no working plug so couldn't use it, and the toilet didn't flush properly. There was no air-conditioning, just a strange heating contraption that turned the room into an unbearable heat trap.  There was also a charming view of the Circle and District Line, which as you can imagine was very noisy. Overall, not very impressed.
The breakfast was OK, but some of the food wasn't as warm as I'd have liked it to be.  The breakfast room was also in dire need of updating,  the whole place was a drab and dreary experience with lots of dark wood and some random flashing neon lights.
The staff were friendly enough, but considering the large number of staff bustling about it was confusing to see how grubby everything was.
For the money, it was adequate at best, but I wouldn't recommend it if you have other options.

Used to be a good value but decent quality hotel well situated for the tube and easily accessed for drivers. Ideal for a business travellers in their own. I have stayed there hundreds of times.
It’s really gone down hill. Poorly maintained, no room service, staff struggling with English even on reception.
I will have to find somewhere else to stay.

Decent but a few issues:
1) Possibly the hottest hotel I’ve ever stayed in, from bedroom to bar area etc. Needs to sort out their AC system, found it difficult to sleep.
2) Rooms near the railway line are noisy when they pass.
3) Dated. Needs modernizing, particularly in bedrooms & bathroom.
4) Reception. Needs better management, took too long to check-in & too much queuing!
5) Wasn’t a huge fan of the 03:45 fire alarm!
Positives:
1) Food was good.
2) Staff were friendly but needed better management in my opinion.

Nice positioned hotel but in need of some updating. One issue was the lack of consistency as the online apps, emails and txt messages did not lino to the hotel. Asked to complete online check-in and when got to hotel nothing was registered. Seemed very disconnected but when we asked staff they were really helpful...
We were lucky to have a cheap getaway but I wouldn't be paying full price for this hotel, when there are others with better services and rooms.
