A birthday visit, a while away from daily routines.
Hotel services did function splendidly late in the evening when we arrived, and very early in the morning when we have to leave for airport. The garden was a real surprise, an early spring to us. In spite of the location, the city center was easy to arrive and walk around. The whole stay was much, much better and more convenient than we ever expected. An easy place with high quality without needless restrictions or too strict forms. Our warmest thanks to your staff.

Absent service
One of the greatest properties in the world ! An unique setup that cannot be compared to any other property. I have enjoyed several stays in this hotel and have seen over the years how the human factor in relation to service has deteriorated. The attitude, the lack of commitment and performance was so strong that I will not return. The rooms are also in the need of a caring touch and the cleanliness could also be improved. However the worst issue is the staff with the worst team at the restaurant. My review is based on a stay of 5 nights and daily incidents at breakfast, room service and technical problems in the room. Shower not working, water leak etc etc. A pity because it is a remarkable property but the performance not worthy the brand of Leading Hotels of the World!

Great Breakfast and setting. otherwise a bit dated
I spent one night here. I arrived late and left early - so I didnt tale any advantage of the great facilities, walk around the grounds...

On a positive side. The breakfast was great. great honey comb, smoothies...
The setting was lovely and there is no doubt that its a good hotel.

That said - i struggled to get the shower to work properly. The lifts felt like they were too many years old and for such a grand hotel - i didnt understand why the rooms didnt have an iron

An opportunity not to be missed ...
I spent three days in Lisbon: two in Rossio and one here. It was the perfect balance. The palace was a great place to enjoy an extraordinary monument and ostentatious comfort combined. I took advantage of the chilly outdoor pool in February so that I appreciated the indoors all the more. Neither reception nor the restaurant were aware that I’d booked half board despite arranging on Pestana's own site which resulted in a bit of fussing about, but once reprogrammed I was made to feel very special. The house is extraordinary and the gardens and accommodation supremely comfortable to match.

What An Amazing Hotel
Stayed here as the location for a work conference. Based on the reviews arrived a day early. A truly spectacular visual treat. The hotel has been added to in the most delicate manner to preserve the originality. A walk around the grounds takes you back to different times. Would stay here again. Very professional and helpful team
Breakfast is a treat, the food quality is exceptional. The rooms are modern yet blended in to the overall ambience of the past

Lovely stay at this dreamy hotel
The hotel grounds and the palace interior were beautiful. Almost felt like royalty! Our garden view room (upgraded for free from city view) was beautiful. The included breakfast was lovely, with lots of choices, and the restaurant was gorgeous. Service was perfect. The location of the hotel was close to Belem, in a nice residential type area. Fun to walk around, lots of cafes and restaurants. A bit of a hike from the downtown core, but Ubers are very economical and efficient. If you have a car, I recommend not paying for hotel parking as there is an abundance of free street parking. During our stay the weather was gloomy, a bit cloudy and drizzly. We enjoyed the indoor pool, jacuzzi and turkish bath during this weather. Oh, and the best part was that we were allowed to keep our room until 3pm (our flight was at 6pm), so that was awesome. The only complaint I would have is that the outdoor pool's water was a disturbing shade of green. For such a beautiful property, they should really scrub the algae off the bottom and sides and try for some nice, clean-looking water! All in all, our stay was terrific and I would love to return one day.

Superb! would be an understatement!
Starting with allowing us to check in early at 9am rather than 2pm. After a long flight from Singapore via Germany. Gracious hosts offering any local information and the porter gave us such a lovely tour on the way to our room. Breakfast was Over whelming! It was so lovely. Our room over looked the gardens was just as we expected.
You will not be disappointed with a stay here!

A wonderful hideaway in the center of Lisbon.

There is an air of grandeur (but not pomposity) about the place, especially in the grand vaulted hallways and public rooms. Sheer refinement.

The staff are wonderful. Their friendly attitude and efforts made us feel like home from the first moment. No detail was overlooked.

Amenities are all excellent - we made full use of the fantastic gym, indoor heated pool and spa. Everything was perfectly clean and high quality.

Even the food surprised us - the in-house smoked salmon and duck magret were divine and the selection of cocktails and wines was great.

We’ll certainly be coming back!

We had the most beautyful wedding night possible in Pestana Palace Lisbon!
Everything was just perfect and even better than we imagined it.
All Team Members did their outmost to make this evening so special:
From the organisation by Paulo, to the waiters that night that provided a First Class Service up to the bellboy who immediately knew who we were on arrival.
The food was excellent and came fast and hot to all guests, an amazing work by the kitchen.
Thank you all very much for making this an unforgettable night for us! Obrigado

Very meh. The hotel is lovely, but definitely not 5*. The garden is stunning, and the breakfast setting is great (although very standard breakfast buffet provided). The room (garden view) was very dark and dated. Water etc was not replenished throughout our stay. Room service forgot items off our order. The most serious issue was that the hotel provided meals and breads with nuts, despite being very clear that we had a serious allergy. Staff were fairly blunt.
All in all, a nice place to stay, but definitely not worth the money.

We went and had a look around this beautiful hotel, this was a surprise stop off on our way to Belem, our tuk tuk dri ver gave us an informative look around, this building is now a 5 star hotel   it is truly stunning and luckily as it is of public interest we were able to take a look around free of charge, definitely worth the stop off, there is a wall in the lower floor with signed photos of the many famous people who have stayed there including Madonna who stayed for 6 months!

Description

Location
Located in a restored 19th century palace, the Pestana Palace Lisboa is one of The Leading Hotels of the World, which are recognized for their extraordinary service. This 5-star hotel in Lisbon is close to the city's main monuments, such as the Tower of Belém, the Belém Cultural Centre, the Jerónimos Monastery, the MAAT –Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology and the Lisbon Convention Centre. With two swimming pools (indoor and outdoor), a spa and lush gardens complete with plants designated as "National Monuments", this is the perfect hotel for your stay.

Rooms
There are four royal suites in the Palace named in honour of the last Portuguese Royal Family, who regularly attended balls held at the Valle-Flôr halls. Inside the hotel’s two new wings, its 190 rooms are characterised by the same standard of luxury, privacy, and exclusive services that only a five-star hotel offers. With a classic and elegant decor, and views over the city or over the Palace’s gardens, which are ranked as a national monument, all of the rooms provide facilities such as a 48” TV, Portuguese amenities, USB sockets, two daily room service visits and 24-hour room service, and a menu by Chef Pedro Inglês Marques. Many of the rooms even have a balcony where you can experience an unforgettable sunrise or sunset.

Food & Drink
In the Valle Flôr restaurant, enjoy the best of Portuguese cuisine with a palatial essence while enjoying the Regency style that dictates the decor of the walls and ceilings; and live an experience that will be memorable for all your senses. The Regency style multiplies the feeling of luxury and well-being, contrasting the golden hues with the fresh green and blue tones of the decor and the wrought iron of the huge luminous windows. Be prepared to have your own custom Vista Alegre service with the coat of arms of the Marquis.
