Nice but not luxurious and pricey
Let's get it straight from the beginning: this is a very nice hotel, but 3/5 reflects rather the quality standard of a hotel that markets itself as luxury.

Coming to the hotel is a strange experience. An empty lounge. No bell boy, concierge, nothing, just an empty lounge. The lobby itself is one stairs up and very tiny. We came around three, so others were checking in at the same time, and therefore it was crowded and awkward. No one to say anything, no one to take the first contact.

Checking in was pleasant, yet my status as a golden loyalty card holder wasn't notified in any way. "Oh you have that, I'll book it", was the only reaction throughout the whole visit.

The room ('Atelier') itself was nice. Very quiet. High ceiling, nice interior, big bathroom with both a shower and a tub, two sinks. A japanese toilet seat with a light inside the toilet (!!) and where you can have your bum washed by clicking on a remote controller. The bed was one of the best I've slept in, ever. BUT: it was hot, really hot, and it didn't help to click the tempereature lower. There was thick layers of dust e.g. on the closet doors. The sockets on the other side of the bed didn't work. We could have noted the reception, but it was night time when the hotness and the sockets were found out.

The winter garden bar was nice, as well as the 'spa'. It was just a small pool, a cold water pool and two saunas, but the atmosphere was soothing.

Breakfast was open until noon on a weekend, that is luxury. We arrived in the most busy time, and the atmosphere was a bit chaotic with the staff running around and all the tables occupied. It took a good while until coffee and juice was served, but the staff was very polite. The food was good quality all the way, and the coffee was especially good. The grill was a bit too busy, had to wait for bacon for almost 15 minutes, but it's made on order so it was worth it.

As said, a nice hotel, but certainly not luxury and not worth the price. Also, I found it very strange not to recognize the gold tier customers like in numerous other SPG/Marriott hotels around the world.

Truly a great hotel for your Helsinki visit
Beautifully built hotel behind an old building facade. Rooms are tastefully decorated and have a real good feel and touch. We loved the bathroom and its upscale amenities.

Location is very central, and all major Helsinki attractions, restaurants etc are within an easy walk away. Service by the staff was attentive. St George has its own bakery, and restaurant Andrea (Turkish inspired), that offers an excellent breakfast and lunch.

Taxi to/from Helsinki-Vantaa airport to St George costs 35-60 euros depending on the taxi operator. The cheapest promotional fare is offered by Fixu Taxi, but they have limited cars available.

There is a very good supermarket "Herkku" in the basement of Stockmann department store, only few steps away from St George. Hotel WiFi is fast and requires no passwords.

St George is certainly my new favorite hotel in Helsinki.

Nice New and Handy
Stayed one night before catching a flight to New York.Hotel is in the centre of Helsinki CBD and everything is close walking distance.
Had a corner room, which we paid to upgrade to as we had a lot of luggage .

Room was a really , really good size, with huge bathroom , separate shower and bath.

We had breakfast included , which was delightful. Front Desk reception , very helpful and accommodating.
This appears to a fairly new Hotel , in an old building and is very funky, comfortable and warm surroundings
Only down fall , would have liked have used the spa facility. but is was booked out for several days

Overall a good place to stay

Maybe pricy but for value
A truly luxurious but still self-contained hotel with spa-compartment in a very handy location. Peaceful surroundings and in the middle of everything. The room was spacy enough and the air was remarkably fresh to breathe. Interior was pleasantly peaceful, Scandinavic. Lighting was especially nicely designed, and created a feeling of calmness and inner silence. Breakfast was truly something something... It’s very exceptional in Finland you are seated by a waitress in breakfast room. Coffee is served to the table which is nice too. You can have coffee of almost any kind so this is for coffee lovers too. Espresso was a decent espresso. The hotel has a bakery of its own so breads are so fresh and tasty. Delicious freshly made omelette, with ham or with vegetables, very robust and original pork sausage (tasted much like a home made sausage), not to mention dry roasted pecan nuts, appropriate selection of cheese and fruit table with fresh strawberries and passion-fruits. The accommodation is not a very cheap one but for the price you also gain more in this case.

Best Hotel Gym!
We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel St George. It's perfectly located in the city and walking distance to almost everything. The room was very comfortable and the lounge area a very spacious, well-lit, and a perfect place to get some work done. Breakfast was really delicious and had a great variety of options. They also provided gluten-free options (yay!)

The part that blew us away about this hotel was the playground gym! We are really active and though this gym was compact, it had so much. Bike, treadmill, kettlebells, exercise balls, dumbbells, box, barbell, tricep dip, pull up bar, etc.

Best hotel in town
It was my first and only choice. I love Design Hotels and this hotel’s interiors were lovely. Best location right in the center close to Design District and within walking distance to Kamppi neighborhood, Market Square, the waterfront, good shopping malls, and Helsinki Cathedral.

The room “Atelier” was lovely and spacious. I loved the bathroom amenities. The service was really good everyone was so friendly. Breakfast was really good in a really nice restaurant. There’s a St George Bakery (cafe) in the hotel. Try their chocolate bun!

Great hotel right in the centre
It is either a new or a refurbished hotel. The check in went very smooth, the room is very nice and the bed wonderful! Breakfast is perfect but sometimes a bit croudy. The interior is modern and so is the room! Loved it!

Two small point for improvement. The make the room sign is very bright when you turn of the lights in your room and i think the gym is too small for the number of guests!

Beautiful and central haven
After having heard lots of good comments of this place, we decided to stay there for a night. It’s located very centrally and conveniently from the main shopping streets and many restaurants. It’s also on a quiet street so not much noise coming in from outside either. The place is sleek, beautifully renovated with a mixture of historical luxury and modern design. The double standard room was also beautiful albeit very small. There was not much space around the bed but the hallway and bathroom were ok sized. The room amenities were good, again beautiful design and a fresh bathroom which felt luxorious. The breakfast was similar to other hotels on equivalent price level and very tasty. Pure flavors and quality across the offering, which was delicious. The service was okay in the reception and friendly and greeting in the restaurant. There are cheaper options in the area but this gives a touch of luxury compared to many other places, still without a hefty price tag. Would stay again.

One of my favourite hotels to date!
There is not a single fault I can find about my stay at hotel st george. The service was impeccable, the room was spacious and had great aesthetics. As an avid traveller, I absolutely love it when hotels pay attention to detail, and this hotel nailed it. Design meets function here. Hotel St George is also centrally located and you can walk to almost all places of interest.
The airport transfer limo service was equivalently priced to the regular taxis as well, so be sure to use it.
I would definitely stay with them again should I return to Helsinki.

Modern, friendly in a classic building makes a nice mix
The Hotel with everything in walking distance has been renovated or opened just recently. In the top floor we could still smell the wood work.
The room has got a nice bathroom with a spacy rainforest shower and a "shower"-toilet, which you'll miss if you don't have one at home.
The king size bed was just great. Super comfortable yet not too fluffy and a very big down blanket for two. So nice.
Really made us feel home.
Only small items were missing like more shelf space in the bathroom for cosmetics.
Definitely a recommendation!!!

Gorgeous hotel excellent location
We stayed over Christmas and loved the hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was immaculate, quiet and cosy. We slept so well, the beds are very comfortable. We could walk to anywhere in Helsinki from this central location. There are many modern artworks in the hotel which are stunning. The breakfast buffet suited our family of two adults and two teenagers (including one vegetarian ) perfectly - we could each have exactly what we wanted. This hotel is expensive, but worth it.

If you’re looking for a very upscale feeling hotel this is a good place
This is a great addition to the Marriott family of hotels. When you were in Helsinki Finland, whether you were traveling for business or shopping or fun, this hotel gives you a nice European feel in a professional setting with many amenities. Also, this hotel is it is only a 10 minute walk from the train station. It is located in a very safe part of town as well.

It has a very nice bar located on the reception floor and the lifts take you to one of five floors. The rooms are very European and the beds are large but the amount of closet and storage space is limited.

Central Location Close to Train Station
This hotel was extremely nice, and centrally located. Close to the market and the train station for the morning train we had to catch!

I stumbled across this hotel since it is now a Marriott Partner. The hotel was excellent and the staff was very curiosity and helpful - everyone could speak English. It worked out perfectly for us. I would definitely stay here again.

Great Coffee Shop and Bakery on the ground floor.

I would like to thank the St. George Hotel and staff for a great wedding weekend.

I spent the night before my wedding with my maid of honor in the Companion Twin Room, which was like made for this situation. The room was spacious and airy and the bathroom was just so big that the two women could fit well there at the same time. In addition, the room had a good setting for make-up work, as the room was flooded with plenty of natural light. In addition, we had been brought an extra high chair to make it easier to disguise.

Due to the prevailing corona situation, our actual wedding celebrations were postponed, but the St. George's Finlandia Suite provided us with a wonderful setting for a small reception after dinner. We ordered small delicious snacks and drinks from the hotel in the room, which were waiting for us ready and tastefully arranged when we arrived at the hotel. The evening was really successful and the service played great
.
We spent two nights in Finlandia Suite and enjoyed the room immensely. The room consisted of a bedroom and a living room and had a separate toilet and bathroom. This was a really big plus when we had guests and more users of the sanitary facilities.

I can warmly recommend this concept to every bride and wedding couple. Thank you St. George for making our wedding weekend a memorable and successful one❤️

After the not so lucrative Christmas calendar of the Kämp Collection Hotel chain, there came a super sale (-40%) at the end of the year. We booked the least expensive Serenity Studio for 175 euros. This price was flexible and included breakfast.

As a Nordic Choice Platinum member, I counted that we will get some sort of upgrade. To our surprise, we got a four-category upgrade to an Atelier Balcony room (the normal price of 440 euros).

From the Atelier Balcony rooms, we got the best one #607. There are four rooms with a Church Park view, two to the side street and some to the backside.

Our room had a huge balcony next to the smaller balcony of Coupole Suite. We had four windows. One from the spacious bathroom.

From the Atelier room upwards, the bathrooms have separate bathtubs and rain showers which is always very nice. You can jump directly from the shower to a filled bathtub.

There has always been a welcome package waiting for us. This time it was a half bottle of champagne and a big fruit plate.

As a Nordic Choice Platinum member, I got also a restaurant voucher of 13 euros. With that, we bought two delicious sandwiches from St George Bakery for an evening snack.

The breakfast was pleasantly calm. The service was top-notch as also in the reception.

Helsinki has two real five-star luxury hotels: Kämp and St George. If you like more modern decor, then the choice is St George

This is the best hotel experience I have had in my life. The staff were A+ in professionalism and service during my 1 week stay. The breakfast was fantastic as was the gym. I hope every hotel can operate at the standard that the St. George sets!

I have stayed here a couple of times, and it has not disappointed. The service is supreme and a send a hearty thank you to all the employees! The hotel is very stylish, the breakfast is excellent (it does not have 1001 things but everything they have is reeeeallly good) and the spa is so serene that all your stress just melts away. You have to try the cold pool! I haven't tried the famous cocktails in the wintergarden, but you should. The beds are a bit hard though,  so if you have a bad back maybe let them know that when you reserve a room. Of the Kämp collection hotels this is my favorite, even though Lilla Robert's does have a better breakfast.

Design Hotels are often questionable value for Marriott Ambassador Elites but considering the general lack of competition from major hotel chains in Helsinki, based on my recent stay Hotel St.George must be considered near the top of the list in my opinion.  I had a comfortable stay recently and can recommend this hotel to both Bonvoy elites or non-members free agents simply looking for a solid hotel.
Room upgrades at the Design Hotel brand are more difficult than at the core Marriott brands but historically I have had decent success with upgrades at Design, sometimes +1 category upgrade and sometimes even more.  While something as basic as a +1 room upgrade might not be worth a lot in some properties, at Hotel St.George I booked the Church Park Suite and +1 meant we stayed in the exquisite Finlandia Suite which was a more valuable upgrade than the multiple category upgrades at many other hotels which break down their room types into too many buckets.
The hardware of the Finlandia Suite was excellent and residential style, there was a free minibar including unlimited refills of Billecart Salmon (for people staying in suites), remote controls for both toilets, and a large outdoor terrace which would be particularly enjoyable during the hotter months.
Regarding service, it's always relative to local standards: the nordic countries are obviously not Asia – specifically in Finland it's more self-service than elsewhere but once you set your expectations correctly, service at St.George was fine when we were there.  For example there were no doormen at the entrance and service in the restaurant was not always the most proactive but it was not to the point of being problematic.
Breakfast was above average with quality ingredients throughout and included some non-standard dishes such as the shakshuka which we enjoyed.  Finding passion fruits in the buffet was also a nice surprise for that part of the world.  There were also some local touches for example the thick Finnish honey.
Overall this Design Hotel is probably the best overall that Marriott has to offer in the city and elite benefits are good enough to be worth staying there such that I would consider returning.

Had rooms on 2nd and 4th floor facing the side street. Turned out to be noisy side. Facing park or courtyard might be more quite.
Ambitious team for breakfast (39€ p.P.), sustainability cautious and super sorry for not being able to provide me with a standard bowl of corn flakes cereals. I guess that was to easy.
