Park Hyatt Hamburg

I spent lovely nights at this beautiful hotel, back on April 2019, Dec 2019, January 2020, & now from 26th Dec 2021 to 6th January 2022, my stays in the hotel exceeded my expectations. Totally recommended, Clean, Modern, Friendly staff, Great location. This hotel and team never disappoints. It is a great property where you can see that management and staff care to look after the hotel and make your stay comfortable, and I am looking forward to return. The rooms was well furnished, clean and spacious & Really great spa services. Breakfast really great & amazing, varied and well organized, In the evening menu there was something for every taste. The location wonderfully in the middle of city center and other attractions. It is a great hotel.

I stayed for the first time at Park Hyatt Hamburg which is a hotel I can recommend if expectations are calibrated in line with the price tag.  The rooms are starting to show their age; however the service was on par with the PH brand and the price very reasonable compared to other major European cities or compared to other 5-star hotels in the city.I booked the entry level room and used a Globalist suite upgrade for this stay.  The Park Suite was not huge at 56 sqm but the space was used efficiently such that it felt reasonably functional and not cramped.  The room would benefit from a refresh especially the brown color theme which was from a different era, however other than the visual state of the room, the quality of the furniture was good and still in decent condition.  The bathroom was also fairly spacious including a walk-in stand-alone shower with bath tub next to it plus a large mirror in the shower. I was a bit surprised not to find Le Labo toiletries in the bathroom.  Some hotels which deviate from brand standards use cheap generic amenities instead, but thankfully the substitute in PH Hamburg was not too bad – L’Occitane is not a huge step down in my opinion although different people have different preferences for those products. Breakfast at Park Hyatt was good although I wish they had more interesting and more elaborate a la carte options.  Most of what was on offer was buffet only, complemented by egg dishes ordered from the kitchen.  The buffet did have some luxury items not found in lower level hotels, such as blueberries, guacamole, and baked salmon (instead of only smoked salmon).  As many other PHs, it was possible to also get breakfast delivered to the room rather than be forced to have it in the restaurant which is a nice Globalist benefit. This Park Hyatt is one of the very few which have a lounge, from memory PH Melbourne has one, and maybe a handful in China.  Regarding food during happy hour it was nothing to write home about but it could make for a decent appetizer, and they also had a couple of desserts every evening.  For drinks they had a choice of two red and two white wines plus some bubbly.  The lounge itself was an attractive venue to spend some time in the evening. Overall this Park Hyatt is not the most flashy but considering the suite upgrade, breakfast and happy hour with drinks, I found the value to be excellent considering that most other PHs in Europe are at least double the price of this one.  I briefly considered staying at the more luxurious (and more expensive) Fairmont instead but Fairmont does not even participate in the Accor loyalty program so with all the benefits that Hyatt has to offer I thought PH was a no brainer for me.

The Park Hyatt Hamburg offers everything you can possibly expect from a 5 star Hotel! I stayed here during my visit in 2021. The rooms are spacious and very clean. The Gym and the Spa is very well equipped. I enjoyed the breakfast buffet every morning. The one aspect that stood out above everything else was the customer service. The staff is well trained, knowledgeable, friendly and was always available when you needed something. I will definitely stay here again when I return to Hamburg!

We spent 4 nights in Hyatt Hamburg. Initially booked 3 but extended as the weather wasn’t good and couldn’t see much of the city offerings. We spent a lot of time in the hotel because of the weather, the kids enjoyed swimming in the large cool pool. The staff is great, specially the front desk manager Mr. Miguel, the concierge and dining room guys. In my opinion the hotel needs a massive renovation, many parts are too old and wearer out. Location of the hotel is great, simply close to most of city attractions.
