The staff at this hotel were the coldest and least friendly that I’ve encountered anywhere in the world; I’m not sure why other reviews rave about the friendliness. I actually felt unwelcome here, and on one occasion, was spoken to in a brisk and impolite manner by a female receptionist after politely posing a simple question. Maybe my skin tone was the issue…who knows. Other than that, the hotel’s location is optimal, the breakfast is excellent but overpriced, the pillows in the room are very thin, and the color scheme of the room is depressing. On one day of my stay, housekeeping didn’t make up my room for some reason.

Lovely hotel in a great location. Exceptionally clean, with friendly staff,  and great rooms. The only problems were that the breakfasts were inconsistent - certain items were there one day then gone the next and the rooms that overlook the side street are very noisy. There are garages directly across the road with people coming and going at all hours, people standing outside shouting, and then there's the nearby city hall bells. Whilst the bells themselves sound lovely during the day, they are very loud in the rooms and go off 24 hours a day (at 5 mins to every hour for some reason). If you want a quieter night, avoid rooms 109-117.

Amazing location and very kind hotel staff! We booked a twin room facing the market and it was very comfortable. Breakfast was good and I can recommend this hotel to everyone who‘s travelling to Gdansk.

Better than 5 stars! From the moment you walk in, to the spacious room and amenities to the location, IBB Hotel in Gdansk should be your only choice for accommodations. Free breakfast included in my rate and it hands down beats any buffet breakfast in the EU or US. Seriously they had everything from hot to cold to savory and sweet. The queen room was spacious with a chair and side table,  mini fridge stocked with free water/juice and replenished daily. There was a spa but I didn't take advantage. Last but not least the location. Literally steps away from the main street/Dluga for everything Gdansk. The Town Hall tower, plenty of restaurants and shops. 5 minute walk to the famous Mariacka Street known for their amber. Finally the staff were superb. Arranging for airport transfers/taxi. Alternatively if you  take a bus, the main stop is at the other end of the Dluga Street which would be a max 10 minute walk to the hotel.
