Grand Hostel Gdańsk

I had a private room and it was very noisy from other guests in the corridor. The hostel is in a great location though, with an amazing view if you have the private room.

Cheap place that can be much better with some little improvements
+ location near the river and downtown
+ cheap price
+ spacious room
+ self check-in
- room has the minimal stuff for a decent stay, at the same time it lacks some basics like toilet paper dispenser, an hook for the jacket, a bracket for towel near the sink, ...
- bed should be "premium" as per their description, but I have another concept of premium bed
- shower with curtain and not glass pane
- small shaky desk, there is enough space to put a decent table there
- unstable wifi
- dimming curtains but not the blackout type, so I had to cover windows with some big garbage bags to avoid light in the early morning
- the main door often remains ajar.

Great location with beautiful view over the river for a good price. Bathrooms are large and the beds are comfortable. The structure has some limitations (thin walls, reception on the second floor), but they are made up for with services such as supplied towel, a recreation room with movies and videogames and a laundry service.

Excellent value for money,  the staff go beyond the call of duty,  making everyone feel welcome.  The rooms are clean and tidy,  the kitchen is fresh,  a little small for children,oozing,  but the dining area is of a reasonable size.  I would heartily recommend staying here.
